Welcome: John Hansen welcomed the attending group and thanked them for joining our monthly meeting. John appealed to all to introduce themselves to the group. Attendees were: John Hansen Laron, Inc. III. The May 16, 2016 Meeting Minutes had a correction / revision made as identified by Mr. John Spadaccini. The revised minutes were approved by consensus. Financial Report: Kenny Dean reported the bank balances of: Beginning Balance (Through 5/16/2016): $3, Ending Balance (Through 6/20/2016): $3, Deposits totaling $600 were made (Membership dues from Manpower, GEO Group and Sippel Law) The only withdrawal was a $70 fee for the PO Box annual rental fee. IV. Old Business:

2 a. Website Update: Dolly Moore displayed the site on the large screen monitor for the group to view. Dolly pointed out that the meeting information was posted for easy access with the time, date and location including a map (that is accurate) along with the agenda for that specific meeting. Minutes of meetings are added as well for access on the site but only by members with login credentials. John Hansen encouraged all members to please get their content submitted to take advantage of the business opportunities the KAMMA website has to offer. This is an incredible benefit exclusive to KAMMA members. John reminded everyone that the website not only represents the KAMMA organization but also our community. b. Membership Update: Dolly Moore noted that there are 44 members total to date with 30 paid and 14 comp d members. In discussion, Scott Bracket asked the question, How much of a percentage of the Industrial Park does our membership represent? Some believe the KAMMA membership is approximately 1/3 of the population. Kenny Dean offered to confirm the roster of the Industrial Park with Bob Riley and compare to our membership. Dolly appealed to all members to recruit your neighbors to help strengthen the voice of KAMMA. c. Announcement of Elections: John Hansen reported to the group that no petitions were received to nominate individuals for directorship therefore the existing directors, Bruce Forthun, Vice President and Kenny Dean, Treasurer were elected to stay in the positions for another term. V. New Business a. Manufacturing Day Preparations: Manufacturing Day officially comes on October 7, 2016 and John Hansen led the original discussion but quickly attracted many of the attending members to share ideas on how to make Manufacturing Day a success here in our community. It was a unanimous agreement to have our KAMMA member companies open their plants to bring out students and show them what opportunities exist within their home town. We must get our students exposed to manufacturing and what our Industrial Park can offer them. Companies agreeing to participate in this were Laron, Inc., Bracket Aerofilters, I-Corp Arizona, Inc., Lomanco West, M-14P and Cascades Tissue. A committee agreeing to push ahead to make this a reality included Gary Jeppsen as chair, Scott Brackett along with Jen Miles and her staff. Further discussion on the idea produced many ideas and strategies. One suggestion was to put a flow chart together to explain how each business works whereas students could gain understanding generating interest in the various companies. It was agreed to focus on the main group to be the WAVE/JTED students. It was noted that the schools will be off on Fridays now due to the new schedule adopted recently.

3 John Hansen agreed to speak with the Arizona Manufacturing Partnership (AMP) as well as the Southern Arizona Manufacturing Partnership (SAMP) to learn about the plans they have implemented in preparation for Manufacturing Day. It was noted that a possible partner to help plan would the Chamber Workforce Development Group. It was agreed by the group to focus on developing a process for presentation, create handouts, bring together the volunteers and develop a skeleton action plan. Renee Ahlers, Job Coach/Job Developer with Achieve Human Services was on hand to offer a brief presentation and distribute handouts relative to the services of Achieve whose corporate office is located in Yuma, AZ with an office here in Kingman. Achieve serves individuals with disabilities and collaborates with local businesses to create opportunities for these people. Achieve is affiliated with many State entities including the Arizona Department of Economic Security. Also offering a brief presentation was Josh Noble, City of Kingman Department of Tourism director on the upcoming 2 nd Annual Best of the West Festival. Josh indicated that many of the sponsorships are sold but there are still opportunities for businesses to participate. The Best of the West Festival will take place September 23 rd and 24 th. b. BNSF Transloading Initiative: John Hansen discussed some of the details relative to the BNSF Transloading Initiative and indicated that the issue is definitely alive. Laron Inc. is positioning itself to be active in transloading along with others that are currently utilizing the opportunity in our Industrial Park. There is a huge advantage to transporting freight by rail if traveling over 400 miles. The transloading process takes products from incoming rail service and moves it onto trucks for specific delivery. There are many opportunities that exist for Kingman as it can serve the Las Vegas area as well as other regional areas more efficiently. c. New Business Potentials: Bruce Forthun shared with the group that he had heard of a possible new business considering putting in a tire recapping facility in our area that would generate jobs. There was other random discussion within the group relative to the potential we have for growth within the area. The question that remains is How do we capture new businesses looking to expand here? d. Training Needs: John Hansen shared a few brochures with the group on Amatrol Technical Education Learning Systems for Advanced Manufacturing. John explained how Amatrol offers progressively structured training solutions for manufacturing that include Automation Systems, Electrical, Electronics, Materials, Mechanical, Fluid Power, Process Control and many other industrial courses. Amatrol has a very detailed flow chart for progression of training relative to the different skill modules in advanced manufacturing that is included as an attachment with this meeting summary. John suggested all to review and consider how these options could be used in your plants locally. Ultimately the needs of our Industrial Community must

4 be defined to push forward and work with providers to make this type training available to our manufacturers here in Kingman. There is existing interest in a second Medical First Responder training class but we need 12 students to make a class complete. KAMMA members; Laron, Inc., Lomanco West, Cascades and I-Corp have offered commitment to 7 students total. It was determined that we need to reach out to the rest of our members as well as our other manufacturing neighbors to find a minimum of 5 more students. It was noted that MCC indicated that they would work with KAMMA to make this training available again. Also noted was that the previous instructor, Jared Nichols was living in Bullhead City and might be available to instruct the training. John Holmes with NACFD offered to contact him and discuss the possibility. e. Partner Updates: KAA, JTED, MCC, Kingman Area Chamber of Commerce, Others: Kingman Area Chamber of Commerce: Lynne Petersen representing the Chamber indicated that they would be publishing a job posting for Yvonne Woytovich s replacement within a week. In appeal to the KAMMA group Lynne asked the question; What role does the Chamber need to play to be the best for the Community including the Manufacturers? Lynne indicated that they have hired Liza Noland to help develop strategies and a vision to move forward. Lynne encouraged response from the group with ideas to help them create a better Chamber. Lynne offered to bring information on the upcoming Andy Awards to the next meeting. Carl Hays: Carl shared with the group that the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service has withdrawn efforts to close the river in Lake Havasu City, Topock and Mohave Valley. Representative Gosar was fighting to keep this from happening. Unisource: There will be a public input meeting Tuesday June 28 th at the Hampton Inn, Kingman from 4:30 to 8:00 pm concerning the possible installation of a high voltage transmission line spanning from a substation near Mercator Mine to another substation near Nucor Steel. The line must traverse BLM as well as private land.
