1 About the Contributors André de Almeida is the founding partner of Almeida Advogados, a leading Brazilian full service law firm headed in Sao Paulo with five offices in Brazil and operations in the entire country. For the last 20 years he has been advising multinational corporations to do business in Brazil and elsewhere in Latin America. He is an officer of the ABA Latin American Committee and member of the Council and of the Executive Committee of the Inter-American Bar Association. Paula Azevedo obtained her LL.M. in International Economic Law in 2007 from Georgetown University, where she was also an Institute of International Economic Law Fellow and has been working in the antitrust and international trade department of Baker & McKenzie Brasília since July Previously, she worked at the Secretariat of Economic Law, handling antitrust investigations. Her work mainly comprises of cartel cases, merger control notifications and international trade disputes. Vanesa Balda is a partner of the Argentine law firm Vitale, Manoff & Feilbogen. Barrett, Jr. is an associate professor of law at the University of Toledo College of Law where he teaches International Business Transactions. Bomchil, head of its Mergers and Acquisitions, Media, and Entertainment areas. Currently he is the Membership Officer of the ABA Section of International Law. Paul Luiki is a partner of the Austrian law firm Fellner Wratzfeld & Partners. His practice focuses on joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions in the CEE region. Prior to moving to Austria in the early 1990s, Paul practiced law at a U.S. firm after having obtained his law degree from the University of Iowa. Oviedo is a senior associate at Negri & Teijeiro Abogados specializing in employment law. She received her law degree from the Universidad Nacional del Nordeste in 1997 and is currently pursuing post-graduate study on labor law at the Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
