4 2016 Conference & Golf Event Speakers Todd Romer Principal, The Young Money Plan Session Speaker Money Management and GEN Y Sponsored By: I started managing and investing money at age 15 from simply mowing lawns in Dayton, Ohio. It started from a couple of neighbor s lawns and grew to small commercial properties during my college years. I bought my first stock (Johnson & Johnson) at age 15 and my first mutual fund (T. Rowe Price Science and Technology fund) at age 18. My Dad was not a banker, financial planner or a Wall Street guy. He, along with my Mom, simply just taught me the value of a good work ethic, the importance of saving and the time value of money when you invest it. Launching Young Money magazine from the ground up in 1999 was fun and challenging at the same time. But nothing compares to the ongoing satisfaction of speaking to young adults today about money and inspiring them to dream again. After launching the Young Money LIVE campus event and speaking tour in 2010, it was extremely clear that today s young adults, regardless of economic background, were thirsting for a solution of how to make sense out of money. They wanted their hands held and a simple system for managing money and becoming financially healthy. John M. Tippets Author, Former Credit Union CEO General Session Speaker Hearts of Courage: A story of bravery and faith against impossible odds John has been active in the Credit Union community for more than 30 years. He was the President/CEO of the American Airlines Federal Credit Union from 1991 until his retirement in 2008, a conclusion of a 42-year career association with American Airlines. Tippets subsequently served as the President/CEO of the North Island Credit Union (in San Diego, Ca.) from 2009 to 2012, and had been recognized as a CU CEO of the Year for He has also worked as a consultant for several credit unions and recently served as an interim CEO at the Alliance FCU in Lubbock, Tx. John has been a frequent speaker and panelist at Trade Association and other Credit Union events and conferences across the country. Tippets served as a member of the Federal Reserve Board Thrift Institutions Advisory Council, Fannie Mae s National Advisory Council, the National Association of Federal Credit Unions Board of Directors, and the Pulse Network Board of Directors. In 2008, John authored and published the book Hearts of Courage about his father as a 29-day survivor of an Alaska airplane crash in January, John Tippets holds a B.A. in Business (with an emphasis in Finance) and an M.B.A. from UCLA. John and his wife, Bonnie, live in Colleyville, Texas. They are the parents of four children and fourteen grandchildren. Dr. Dennis Rosen Author, Professor, Founder of Winfluence Solutions General Session Speaker Define, Improve and Discover actions to meet the needs of our members. Dr. Dennis Rosen is founder of WinFluence Solutions through which he provides presentations and training on customer service and sales improvement served up with humor! He is author of the book, Create Devoted Customers and developer of the DID System for customer service improvement. Dennis has a Ph.D. in consumer psychology and is Professor Emeritus of the University of Kansas School of Business where he was an award-winning teacher of marketing and consumer behavior for over 27 years. Dennis s presentations provide information of practical business value combined with an entertaining and engaging style. His focus is on finding the low-cost actions that can be taken to change customer and employee attitude and perception based on psychology and marketing principles.
