2 CONTEST SCALE, PPOA Endorse LACCD Board of Trustees' President Scott Svonkin for California Board of Equalization District 3 LOS ANGELES, CA -- In another strong showing of his thriving support as he campaigns for the office of California Board of Equalization District 3, today Los Angeles Community College District Board of Trustees' President Scott Svonkin picked up the backing of the Southern California Alliance of Law Enforcement (SCALE) and the Los Angeles County Professional Peace Officers Association (PPOA). In a letter sent to Svonkin's BOE campaign, Robert Masson, SCALE President, wrote: "The Southern California Alliance of Law Enforcement, representing over 37,000 law enforcement officers in Southern California, is pleased to endorse your candidacy for election to the Board of Equalization." The Los Angeles County Professional Peace Officers Association (PPOA) also announced their support of Svonkin by submitting a letter from the group's President, Brian Moriguchi, to the campaign, writing: "The Los Angeles County Professional Peace Officers Association (PPOA)... announced their support and endorsement of your candidacy... for the Board of Equalization. The Los Angeles County Professional Peace Officers Association (PPOA) represents more than 8,700 law enforcement professionals. 6 Svonkin, who announced his campaign just months ago, has stockpiled a significant war chest with a whopping almost $400,000 raised, giving him a significant early edge in the race for the 3rd District. Currently, Svonkin is serving his third consecutive term as president of the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) Board of Trustees.
