1 CURRICULUM VITAE OF DR. PATRICK ALAIN T. AZANZA SUMMARY Dr. Patrick Alain T. Azanza is a Harvard-trained educator, social scientist, ICT visionary, and businessman. A former Director of the UP System Human Resources Development Office (HRDO), he served as Chief Operations Officer (COO), Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, Vice President for HRD, and Graduate School Dean of the AMA University, Asia s pioneer and largest IT university. He was a senior lecturer at the UP College of Education, and acted as College Secretary of the UP School of Labor and Industrial Relations. He is presently the Corporate Secretary and Vice President for Business Operations and HRD of the Eclaro, a global IT/BPO group of companies headquartered in New York, USA with operations in India, Puerto Rico, Canada, and the Philippines. He served as Chairman of the Board of the WBSI-Epicor Philippines, a channel partner of a Fortune 500 ERP software company based in California, USA; and was President/CEO of Winsource and Cosmotec Call Centers. He likewise served as an International Consultant at the Asian Development Bank (ADB); and Senior Consultant of the French Eiffel-Matiere Consortium. Dr. Azanza finished his AB, MA and PhD in Education under a straight UP Presidential Scholarship Grant. He also holds a Juris Doctor (JD) from the UP College of Law. He took up a post-doctoral program at the Harvard University, Boston, Massachusetts, USA. He also finished a diploma course on Human Resource Management at the University of California Riverside, USA; and Human Capital Management from the Asian Institute of Management (AIM). He has authored seven (7) books including textbooks in human resources management, social sciences, and economic development. A former Chairman of the KASAMA SA UP and the UPLB Student Council, Dr. Azanza is a very active civic leader. He was National Secretary-General and Executive Director of the Philippine Jaycees, and President of Mandaluyong Jaycees. He served as a member of the Board of Directors of the British Alumni Association. He is a founding Director of TOFARM, a foundation that seeks to recognize Filipino famers and other agricultural workers. Dr. Azanza is a recipient of the Distinguished UP Alumnus Award given by the UPLB-CASAA Foundation. He was also conferred the prestigious Lingkod Bayan Award, the highest award given by the President of the Republic of the Philippines to outstanding civil servants. In 2009, he was recognized as an Outstanding Chapter President of the Philippine Jaycees. He is also a recipient of the Huwarang Ama Award in the field of Education. He is listed in the International Who's Who in Education. 1
