1 SPRIGGS LAW FIRM 2007 WEST RANDOLPH CIRCLE TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA (850) (h & w) (850) (cell) December 17, 2018 Dear Mayor and Commissioners: Please accept my application for the interim Commission vacancy in Seat 1. This application is explicitly predicated on a pledge not to run for any future vacancy. I served as a Commissioner The experience gained during that tenure would be invaluable to allow me to hit the ground running. I very much enjoyed my tenure on the Commission. Many issues of city governance are both interesting and important to the community. In my previous service, one of the issues I focused on was energy. The fact that we generate our own electricity allows Tallahassee to set a good example on a range of related issues, such as the City loan program for those wishing to make energy efficient improvements. My most recent community service was to chair, the Sheriff s Ad Hoc Committee on Monetary Bail. We filed the final report February 9, I currently chair the Sheriff s Committee on Mental Health Diversion. Our work is ongoing. Sincerely, Kent Spriggs
