1 Genealogy Society Of Craighead County, Arkansas This month s meeting will be held at The Jonesboro Public Library Next meeting: Sunday, March 18, 2001 VOLUME NUMBER FIVE, ISSUE NUMBER THREE MARCH 2001 MEETING HAPPENINGS: The February Meeting was held at the Jonesboro Library on Sunday February 18, Our speaker was Terry Cooper. He spoke on the Melungeon Influence. He was able to give us information about the Melungeon history and culture. If it is necessary for you to research in this area, maybe some of his handouts will be useful. EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING: The Executive Board met on 10 March 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at the Jonesboro Library. 1. Part 1 of the 1910 Census is coming along real well. We should be able to meet the deadline with no difficulty. 2. Our Seminar will be September 29, 2001 at the Sherman Harmon Family Life Center behind Cathedral Baptist Church, 2706 Alexander Drive, Jonesboro, Arkansas Next Executive Board Meeting will be 14 April 2001 at 2:00 pm at the Jonesboro Library. DUES Dues are $15.00 a year. They can be mailed to GSCCA (Genealogy Society of Craighead County, Arkansas) P.O. Box 2614, Jonesboro, AR We would be glad to have you with us. MARCH MEETING: The March meeting will be Sunday, 18 March 2001 at 2:00 p.m. in the Round Room at the Jonesboro Library. Our scheduled speaker, Helen Dunn, has had to have hip surgery. Her program will be re-scheduled. We do wish her the best and hope that she has a speedy recovery. The program will be How They Got There. Share your maps. We all have some unique maps that may benefit others. Maps that will help explain Why they went that way. NEWSLETTER: The newsletter is published monthly.
