1 Genealogy Society Of Craighead County, Arkansas This month s meeting will be held at The Jonesboro Public Library Next meeting: Sunday, October 23, 2000 VOLUME NUMBER FOUR, ISSUE NUMBER TEN OCTOBER 2000 MEETING HAPPENINGS: Our September meeting was held in the Round Room at the Jonesboro Library. Following a short business meeting we adjourned to the Genealogy Area where we worked on indexes completed sections of the 1910 Census as well as the Jackson County Cemetery Book. EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING: The board meeting for October was held on 5 October 2000 at 7:00 p.m. at the home of Gail Lies. 1. Due to the fact that the use of the ASU Armory for our seminar was still somewhat uncertain, we have been able to get the Jonesboro High School. 2. The Round Room is available again at the Jonesboro Library. 3. The next Beginner s Class will be Monday, 6 November & Tuesday, 7 November from 6:30-8: The next Executive Board meeting will be 11 November 2000 at 2:00 p.m. at the Jonesboro Library. OCTOBER MEETING: The Jonesboro Library is having several programs in the Round Room for the month of October. At the September meeting the membership voted to attend one of the program on Monday, 23 October 2000 as our October meeting. The program will be in the Round Room at the library. It will be a presentation by a special speaker on Orphan Trains. The program starts at 7:00 p.m. We hope to see everyone there. DUES Dues are $15.00 a year. This marriage is listed in the Craighead County Marriage Records -- pg 164 George McAdo, age 21, to Miss Bell Dunlap, age 30, 25 Dec Can anyone tell me more about this man and his family? Several children of my ancestor, Barnett McAdoo, moved across the Mississippi from Tennessee to Arkansas. In this note book you will find an Index of Obituaries from the Jonesboro Sun from 1 January 1998 to 30 June The Index contains the name of the individual along with the date and page number their obituary appeared in the Jonesboro Sun.
