1 Welcome! Are you ready to start a prosperity revolution in your life? This 90-day program is designed to empower you to make radical changes in your life. During the next 90 days you will be completing a series of exercises designed to help you clarify your desires, clear old patterns and take decisive new steps to help you create the life you want to live. There are three important processes that you have to complete in order to create effective change in your life: 1. You have to know what you want. 2. You have to believe that you can have it. 3. You have to take deliberate action to get it. We can only assume that since you are reading this book that you know what you want. You want some kind of change to happen in your life. We can also assume that, even though you might not know how change is going to happen, that you have some kind of belief that changes can happen for you. And, in order to create change, you are willing to take some action to make it happen! It takes time to change behaviors, thoughts and habits. We get stuck in ways of thinking, beliefs and actions over time. Whenever we have experiences or thoughts, our brains take note of them. When we have thoughts, experiences or take actions over time our brains create paths for these energies to travel along. These paths are called neuropathways. Neuropathways make our thought process, our reactions and our habits more efficient and easier to achieve. We all have consistent beliefs and habits. These were established and reinforced in our brains over time. Research shows that it takes 21 days of consistent experience for our brains to make a new neuropathway. In order for you to change your beliefs to create actions that get the results you desire, you have to build new neuropathways to help you make these changes become a natural habit in your life. 1

2 In other words, it takes time and practice to create change. As you change, you are not only changing your results you are changing your body, your mind and your life experience. With consistent focus on the exercises in this playbook, you will find that you look forward to each day and the discoveries and joys that new patterns and understandings can bring you. Change can be fun and exciting. You may also sometimes find that as you work on this 90-day program, that you resist doing your homework. You may find that you forget to complete your task. That s okay. For many of us, that is just an old habit. If you find that you resist your homework or that you get behind. Forgive yourself. It s just the old wiring in your brain. Re-start your program wherever you left off and celebrate your resiliency! Remember that it takes time and practice to change. You ve already taken the first step by reading this book! We have built into this program enough repetition to support you in creating new, empowering neuropathways. Rest assured that if you meet with resistance, we have given you the tools to move through your resistance with ease and confidence. If you follow this program you will succeed. When you prosper, the whole world prospers with you! 2

3 GETTING READY Before you start this program you will need to gather some materials and be prepared. You will need the following items: 1. At least two notebooks or journals. 2. Good pens that feel good to write with. 3. A box of (at least) 12 colored pencils. 4. A soft music CD that brings you joy and makes you feel good minutes of uninterrupted time every day. 6. A daily planner, appointment book or calendar. 7. A clear jar. You will need other materials as you go along so be sure to read the requirements at the top of the page for each day. INSTRUCTIONS Habits are formed over time. Some of the daily exercises are repetitive and designed to help you build new neuropathways. Start each day with this workbook. Keep it by your bed and do your daily exercise first thing in the morning. This will give you power and renewed focus every day. DAILY ACTIONS ACTION 1: THE ABUNDANCE MANIFESTO Put your hand over your heart, look in the mirror and read the Abundance Manifesto each morning. New neuropathways are built over time and are more effective if you can anchor them in your body. You can speak the Manifesto. You can even amp it up more by adding music to it or singing it! Use it in any way that feels impactful to you. Really feel the Abundance Manifesto in your body. Notice where you buzz or vibrate when you speak. Make eye contact with yourself in the mirror as you are making this statement. Emotion is a powerful way to deepen and strengthen neuropathways. When you read the Abundance Manifesto, say it with conviction, joy and excitement. This is the credo for your Personal Prosperity Revolution! You may want to make copies of this and put it in your car or somewhere where you can repeat the manifest several times a day. Work with it until you have it memorized! 3

4 The Abundance Manifesto 1. I am a radiant, magnetic Being. 2. Abundance is my birthright and my natural state. 3. I attract everything I desire into my life with effortlessness and ease. 4. I know that unseen loving forces are supporting me constantly. 5. I focus my attention and energy on having exactly what I want manifest in my life. 6. I am fully open to the magic of the Universe helping me with every step of creation. Miracles happen to me every day. 7. I am deeply grateful for all of my life experiences. I know they are helping me expand my thinking and my consciousness. 8. My positive emotions show me that my attention is in alignment with my desires. I am on my way to creating exactly what I want. 9. I surround myself with people who support my creative process. 10. Abundant opportunities are always presenting themselves to me. 11. Creation is a constantly evolving process. I am always doing it right! I am always growing and changing! 12. I take guided actions that are in alignment with my desires and beliefs. 13. I am fully supported, deeply loved and magnificently powerful! I am an unlimited Child of the Universe. 4

5 ACTION 2: PERSONAL PROSPERITY ACCOUNT Get a nice, clear jar and use it for your Personal Prosperity Account. Put this jar somewhere where you can see it during the day. Make a daily deposit into your Personal Prosperity Account. This can be a penny or as much as you like. Just make the deposit. Energy flows where you attention goes. When you focus on creating more money in your life in a positive and fun way, you energetically attract more money. The amount that you put in your Personal Prosperity Account is up to you. The amount is not as important as the energetic statement. Your PPA is part of energetically making a statement to yourself and the Universe that you are ready to attract and accumulate more money into your account! You PPA also helps you develop habits of accumulating and keeping wealth. Like attracts like. Having money attracts more money. ACTION 3: DAILY ABUNDANCE ACTIVITY Complete your Daily Abundance Activity to help you anchor your new actions and make them habits. Some of these activities will require you to go on field trips or gather additional materials. Read each week s activities ahead of time so that you can plan accordingly. ACTION 4: CELEBRATE YOUR SUCCESSES! Notice and celebrate your successes! Your successes can be big or small. Feeling abundant is a mindset. When you feel abundant and successful, you attract more abundance and success into your life. Make it a habit to notice all the things you do well and are proud of each day. It might be simply that you completed your Prosperity Revolution daily assignments or that you said hello to someone new. Where you put your attention is where your energy flows. If you are focusing on what you did right as opposed to what you did wrong, you will create more right actions. Remember that the goal is to rewire and retrain your brain. Small steps can and do make a big difference. A journey of a thousand miles starts with one step. 5

6 ACTION 5: USE EFT Use EFT (the Emotional Freedom Techniques) to anchor your Desires into your energy system. Please read the enclosed EFT For Everyone manual. You will be given specific EFT assignments throughout the 90-day process as well as your daily practice. At the end of the EFT For Everyone manual, there are instructions explaining how to use EFT as a technique to anchor new positive beliefs and Desires. EFT is fast, effective and easy to use. It is also a great tool to use in group settings. Working with EFT with a group of like-minded people can really amplify the energy of the process and benefits everyone in the group! 6

9 When nothing else works Tap on it! A woman has such a strong phobia of flying that she can barely even drive to the airport to pick up a friend. Her body is wracked with nausea when she thinks about taking a plane trip. Nothing has worked to help her. With the guidance of a coach she taps on her phobia and now she can fly on an airplane without fear and anxiety. A man has migraine headaches on a regular basis and nothing ever seems to help them. With the guidance of a practitioner, he taps on the headaches and they appear less frequently and with much less intensity than before. He taps some more on his own, and the painful migraine headaches eventually disappear, never to return. A woman constantly feels guilty about not making weekly visits to her parents house, ( You never come to see us anymore ) even though visiting requires hauling her four children over there and disrupting her family s weekend schedule. She taps on her guilt and then decides that her parents can make the effort to drive the 10 minutes over to her house once in a while. Her guilt is gone. A child has recurring nightmares about monsters coming out of his bedroom closet at night. With his mother s help, he taps on the nightmares, which do not return. In their place he has nice dreams. What do these people have in common? They have all discovered that when they are stuck with a problem that won t go away, and nothing else has worked to solve it, they can tap on that problem with the Emotional Freedom Techniques, and that problem will become nothing more than a powerless memory. This is the world of EFT, and this new world is waiting for YOU. 9

10 EFT = The Missing Tools! Imagine that you live in a house where everything is broken, and you don t have any tools to make the repairs not even a wrench. You know what is wrong in the house, but you just can t fix it. You probably don t enjoy living in that house very much -- it feels like a dump. Then a friend drops off some tools from the hardware store hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc. and he shows you how to use them. Now you can repair the house and enjoy living in it much more! YOU are like that house. Parts of your life don t seem to be working the way you want them to. You may have physical, psychological, emotional, or even spiritual issues that you wish you could resolve. But try as you might, you don t always seem to have the right tools to fix your life. Now, imagine, for a minute, that each one of your so-called problems is actually the result of a simple disruption in your body s natural healing system. Your natural state is health and well-being, and your body and mind would heal themselves if only you could remove those disruptions All you need are the right tools to clear the blockages your system. EFT provides the tools you need to remove the disruptions in your body s natural healing systems! 10

11 IMPORTANT FACTS ABOUT EFT 1) EFT Often Works When Nothing Else Will! Try it and see. 2) EFT is a TOOL. Even if you had never seen a screwdriver before, I could probably show you how to use one in less than five minutes. A screwdriver works on everything from cars to videocassette recorders. EFT is like that. It is a general tool that can be used to "repair" your emotional system. 3) Like any tool, EFT requires training to master it. For example, if you were to hand me a set of tools and ask me if I knew how to use them, I would answer yes." If you asked me to repair your car with those tools, I would answer NO WAY, I KNOW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT FIXING CARS!" Maybe I could take your car apart, but to put it back together would require that I know something about applying the tools to an automobile. EFT is like the tools and YOU are like the mechanic. The EFT process always works IF you know how to apply it to the particular issue you want to resolve. After you learn the basics from this introductory manual, we highly recommend that you pursue additional training and support through the resources at EFTU. The more you learn the greater success you will experience with the Emotional Freedom Techniques. 4) You get out of EFT what you put into. Like exercise or meditation, EFT is a self-applied process. And, you will get results in proportion to how much time and effort you give to the process. If you rarely use EFT, it will rarely give you results. If you use EFT every day on every issue you will get results every day on practically every issue. So use it! 11

12 WHERE DID EFT COME FROM? In the mid 1990's, a man named Gary Craig took elements from other meridian energy therapies and he created a simple healing protocol which he named the "The Emotional Freedom Techniques." He began teaching those techniques to people in workshops and with video tapes of his seminars. Psychologists, personal coaches, hypnotherapists, message therapists, chiropractors and others have flocked to EFT in overwhelming numbers. For many professionals it has become their main tool. The Emotional Freedom Techniques have an interesting history which has been recorded in detail in videos, training manuals, and on Gary Craig's web site. For those who want to know the full history and development of EFT visit HOW EFT WORKS EFT works because it gets to underlying emotional issues that produce the so called "problems" in our lives. Using EFT a person can remove the blocks that keep feelings and emotions from flowing naturally, and when emotions flow normally, the body and the mind can heal themselves. THE DISCOVERY STATEMENT The basic theory behind the application of EFT is expressed in what Gary Craig calls the "Discovery Statement" shown below: THE CAUSE OF ALL NEGATIVE EMOTIONS IS A DISRUPTION IN THE BODY S ENERGY SYSTEM By clearing disruptions in the energy system we allow the mind and body to heal themselves. IMPORTANT NOTE: The description below gives an introduction to a short-cut version of EFT that is effective most of the time. 13 HOW TO DO EFT: THE MECHANICS THE TWO PARTS OF EFT EFT has two parts, the Set Up and the Tapping. The Set Up is kind of like setting up the bowling pins (the issue) and the Tapping is kind of like knocking down the bowling pins. When you say the Set Up phrase you focus on the issue you want to resolve, bringing it into your awareness, and when you do the Tapping, you tap on several energy points on your body. The energy points relate to the meridian points from Chinese Medicine and are sometimes called acupuncture points or acupressure points. Some people simply refer to these points as relaxation points, because you will often feel very relaxed after you tap on the points a few times. If you do not understand anything in the following section, I encourage you to reread it as many times as necessary. Although the technique looks simple when demonstrated, it can sound complicated in written form. Don t give up! Although the art of applying EFT can take a while to learn, the mechanics of the EFT protocol are really very simple. 13

14 THE SET UP For the Set Up part of EFT you identify the issue you want to tap on, and you say a very special phrase while tapping on the side of your hand (SH) with one or more fingers from your other hand. Here is the typical Set Up phrase: "Even though I have this (name the issue), I deeply and completely accept myself." You can adapt the Set Up to fit any situation or issue. In advanced practice, the way you say the Set Up can sometimes make ALL the difference in whether or not the tapping works. Learning to say THE exact Set Up that will help THE exact problem you are working on is a skill which you will develop as you practice EFT and continue to study the art of delivery of EFT. As a beginner you can use the standard Set Ups such as: Even though I have this back pain, I deeply and completely accept myself. Even though I feel angry at that car that just pulled out in front of me, I deeply and completely accept myself. Even though my I want that piece of cake, I deeply and completely accept myself. 14

15 TAPPING THE POINTS You tap gently on certain points on your body hard enough to feel it, but not hard enough to hurt yourself. You will tap between 5 to 10 times on each point with one or two fingers. Then you will go to the next point. As you tap on the meridian points, you repeat to yourself a reminder phrase to keep the issue in your mind. For example, if you are tapping on a headache, you say this headache as you tap. Repeating the reminder phrase keeps you focused on the issue at hand. A SUMMARY OF THE SET UP AND TAPPING PROCEDURE 1. Identify an issue or problem you want to work on (such as a pain, an unpleasant memory, a food craving, a fear, etc.); be specific in identifying the issue. For example, you might say this pain on the lower left side of my back. Give that issue an intensity rating on a scale from (1 = barely noticeable, 5 = moderately annoying, 10 = unbearable). 2. Repeat the setup affirmation 3 times while tapping the (SH) point. "Even though (name the problem), I deeply and completely accept myself." Example: Even though I feel sad about, I deeply and completely accept myself. 3. Tap 5-10 times on each of the following energy points while focusing your mind on the problem you just rated. And keep the issue in mind by saying a reminder phrase while you tap. 7 Energy Points: EB, SE, UE, UN, CH, CB, UA 4. Check in with your mind and rate the problem again. Is it still a 10? an 8? a 2? If it is not a zero (0), repeat the EFT sequence. 15

You have to see it, hear it, and experience for yourself. To learn the art you must work with a practitioner, attend a support group, or study the advanced training videos, Nevertheless, I have included a couple of advanced topics here for those who want to understand more about how EFT works. 16

17 ADVANCED EFT CONCEPTS TREATING DIFFERENT ASPECTS OF A PROBLEM Occasionally you will clear an issue with only one round of tapping. Most issues, on the other hand, will have several parts or aspects which must be addressed. The Headache example below illustrates the one-minute miracle where a problem goes away after only one or two rounds of tapping. The Fear of Driving on an Overpass example shows how a supposedly simple phobia actually consists of several completely separate sub-issues, or aspects, which must be addressed individually before the phobia dissolves. In EFT lingo we call each of these sub-issues an aspect of the main issue. When you tap on a problem, you may have another feeling or other problem pop into your head. This is your mind telling you Hey, there is more to this issue, here is the next aspect you need to tap on. To successfully clear the negative emotions from an event, you must address ALL of the aspects. It just won t do to address one small part and leave the rest of the sub-issues untouched. For some issues, therefore, you will have to tap on many aspects. STOPPERS THAT PREVENT EFT FROM WORKING Two concepts that are often referred to as stoppers and that can prevent EFT from working are called psychological reversal and secondary gain. I believe these are really the same idea stated in different ways, but I will list them both for the reader s benefit. When you have psychological reversal your energy system or unconscious programming maintains the opposite condition of what is in your best interest. When you have secondary gain, some part of your personality mind thinks that to get over the problem will require giving up something that you need or that is essential for your survival. These conditions can result in subsequent self-sabotage. Conscious Mind = I want to get over this problem. Unconscious Mind = I don t want to get over this problem because 17

18 Reason not to get over a problem: 1) If I get over this problem (something bad) will happen. 2) If I get over this problem (someone) won t love me/take care of me/pay attention to me anymore. 3) I deserve to have this problem because I did or thought about doing (some bad thing). 4) I don t deserve to get over this problem because other people are worse off than I am. 5) I can t recover because then I will have to (some responsibility) Our mind can hold onto thousands of reasons for not getting over an issue. Let s look at some common examples of how stoppers work against you when you tap. Example One: A boy gets sick. His Mom, who usually works, takes the day off and lavishes attention on boy. This pattern is repeated throughout childhood. The boy grows up into a healthy man and gets married. The grown man has very busy wife, who is CEO of her own company, and who works until 8 p.m. every night. The seemingly healthy grown man repeatedly comes down with flu, colds, etc. Nothing seems to help him get better, so he tries tapping. He taps on his "repeated illness" issue with no immediate improvement in symptoms, but he realizes that he misses his wife when she works late every night. He decides that there might be a secondary gain for keeping his illnesses, such as the belief: If I get sick, people will pay more attention to me. This is, in fact, the exact pattern he learned in childhood. So, the grown man taps on his feeling of needing attention from his wife: Even though I feel like my wife is not paying enough attention to me, I deeply and completely accept myself. tap tap tap Immediate result: Grown man realizes he can simply ask his wife for more attention. He asks wife to take off early on Wednesdays so they can spend some time together. Long term result: Grown man gets sick less often, finds other appropriate ways to get attention. In the example above, the grown man had no conscious knowledge of his secondary gain belief, and, his pattern of illnesses no longer gained attention as it did in childhood. It was an old energy pattern that no longer served him and his highest good, yet it was resurfacing repeatedly. 18

19 Please note: in the example above the man was not getting sick on purpose! The whole cycle was entirely unconscious on his part. A few rounds of tapping on his getting sick issue didn t solve the getting sick, but it did point him in the direction of the real issue, which was that he wanted to spend more time with his spouse. Many health problems (both physical and psychological) have very obvious secondary gains which no one seems to notice UNTIL THEY TAP ON IT. We have seen so many clients get a look of enlightenment on their faces when they realize they may have been unconsciously maintaining an unhealthy life pattern because it got them something that they wanted in the past, but that no longer serves their highest good in the present time. You may think you want to get over a particular habit or fear, but there may be a part of you that wants to keep that problem. Look for the secondary gain in an issue and tap on letting go of the need for that secondary gain, and surprise you will find the issue opens right up and begins to improve. ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF SECONDARY GAIN: An attractive woman dates and or marries several men over a decade, all of whom end up abusing her either physically or emotionally. The woman divorces her most recent abuser and gains 50 pounds. Years later woman struggles to lose weight. Diets don t work and she just gains more weight. The woman feels like her body is working against her. She discovers EFT and has new hope. She taps on food cravings and similar issues with little result in terms of actual weight lost. Knowing there might be a secondary gain for keeping the weight on, she asks herself, If I lose this weight then. The woman has a huge aha moment and realizes she might holding on to excess weight in order to look less attractive to men, so they will not hit on her and so she will not begin another relationship with another man who might abuse her just like the others did. She taps on her unconscious fear of attracting men: Even though I am afraid to lose weight because I will look more attractive to men, I deeply and completely accept myself. Even though I always attract the wrong kind of man, I deeply and completely accept myself. 19

20 Etc Immediate result: The woman laughs at herself and realizes she has been keeping the weight on to keep from attracting men. While her conscious mind was saying I ve got to lose some weight! her unconscious mind was screaming out I ve got to stay fat to keep men from hitting on me! Long term result: She continues to tap on her issues of attracting dangerous men, and she gradually loses weight with less effort than before. (These are real examples from actual clients. The above example occurs most frequently with women and sometimes with men.) TREATING YOURSELF FOR SECONDARY GAIN BLOCKS One way to treat secondary gain is simply to tap on it directly. If your issue does not improve with EFT use one of the following types of Set Ups and try again. Adapt the Set Up to your specific issue. Even though I don t really want to get over this problem, I deeply and profoundly accept myself. Even though part of me wants to stay sick Even though some part of me enjoys feeling this sadness Even though I don t want to heal my grief yet Even though I like having this problem If you remain stuck, seek help from an EFT specialist or a support group. The saddest result of secondary gain is that the people who have the most to gain from EFT often won t use it PRECISELY BECAUSE IT WORKS! You see, their system senses that EFT will very efficiently resolve a challenging issue, but part of the mind desperately want to hang on to that issue for protective reasons, or because that negative energy pattern is the only one that the person s system has known. The best way to get around secondary gain is to tap with a practitioner or a support group. 20

21 EFT SUCCESS STORIES Below are short summaries of three EFT success stories. We include these to illustrate how someone can apply EFT to a specific issue with success. A HEADACHE DISSOLVES IN ONE ROUND OF TAPPING The case study below illustrates a straight-forward physical complaint which clears very easily, what we often call a one-minute miracle. One of my first personal successes with EFT involved a simple headache I had after a tiring day at the office. I said the following Set Up phrase three times and then tapped the points Even though I have this headache, I deeply and completely accept myself. Even though I have this headache, I deeply and completely accept myself. Even though I have this headache, I deeply and completely accept myself. tap tap tap Headache gone. NOTE: I have had other headaches that took several rounds of tapping to eliminate, so don t give up if yours doesn t disappear instantly. Remember that if the true cause of your headache rests in some physiological need, then your tapping will probably not make the headache disappear. For instance, if you have consumed very little water during the day, you may have a dehydration headache. You try tapping, but during the tapping you may notice you feel thirsty. So drink some water! Or, you may need to catch up on sleep and your headache is a message from your body saying Hey, take a nap! So you should take a nap! A DRIVING ON AN OVERPASS PHOBIA This next case study shows how one short event lasting only a few minutes can create patterns in a person s energy system. These patterns can exert control over that individual for the rest of her life unless the short circuit is corrected with EFT. Kathy had come to a seminar on EFT for Weight Loss and had made some good progress during the day. She responded wonderfully to EFT and at the end 21

22 of the afternoon session, she asked if I could help her with a phobia relating to driving over a particular highway overpass in Houston. This phobia caused her to feel fearful and tense whenever she had to drive on this overpass or similar ones, so she would usually drive out of her way to avoid having to go on that part of the freeway. This particular phobia didn't appear to hamper her life tremendously, but it was a nuisance to feel so controlled by a simple fear of driving on one stretch of the highway. Consciously, she felt silly not being able to drive on the highway like any normal person. No amount of conscious reasoning would unlock the stuck pattern in her mind-body system however, and she remained prisoner to her emotional and physiological reactions. Kathy even knew the source of this fear, but knowing it didn t make the fear go away. She explained to me that she had been in a very bad accident on a similar highway overpass about two decades earlier. The previous accident had not been her fault in any way. She had come over the hill and had run into a multicar pileup that had started several cars ahead of her on the freeway. The accident had begun with only two cars, but because the overpass went up steeply on the front side, she had not been able to see the accident over the crest of the hill. And when she came over the top of the hill at about 50 mph, there was no time to stop. Several other cars did the same, resulting in a multicar collision. She was not seriously injured in the wreck, but some people in another car had been killed, and she saw their bodies being taken away. She was taken to the hospital for minor injuries, and her mother came to get her. Since that time, driving over similar overpasses, especially very steep ones where the far side is not visible, continued to scare her. Kathy felt more than normal caution about such areas. She had so much fear that she would simply drive far out of her way to find a different route to where she needed to go, rather than cross such an overpass. If she could resolve this phobia she might save herself considerable time in getting through downtown. We started by rating her fear of driving on the highway overpass, which she put at about an 8 or 9 on a scale of 1 to 10. I asked her where in her body she felt the tension when she had to drive on these kinds of overpasses. She said her stomach and chest would feel tight and compressed knotted up. First we tapped on her fear of driving on the overpass, and then we tapped on her most obvious physical symptoms with the following Set Ups: 22

23 Even though I m afraid to drive on the 610 overpass at I-10, I deeply and completely accept myself, and, Even though I have this tension in my chest and stomach when I think about driving on that overpass After each round of tapping I asked her to imagine driving over that part of the road and to rate her anxiety. A couple rounds with these Set Ups had brought her anxiety down a little bit, to a 5 or 6. At that point I felt that we should move directly to the most obvious aspects of the anchoring event, the car accident from her youth, and go through each of those aspects one at a time. (This session lasted about 45 minutes, so I will summarize my procedure order to save space. Before each round I would ask for a rating of 1 to 10 on that particular aspect, then we would tap a round and re-assess with a new rating of 1 to 10. If the aspect went to a zero, we would move on to another aspect; but, if an aspect still carried a negative feeling rated at 2 or 3 or whatever, we would continue to repeat the same Set Up until we got that aspect down to a zero. I won t include all of the repetitions below, just the main Set Up phrases.) We started with the following Set Ups: Even though I ran into another car, I deeply and completely accept myself. Even though I can still hear the crunching of the metal... Even though I wrecked my car Even though I still see the dead bodies from the other cars After clearing a few of these aspects of the accident, Kathy felt a lightness in her body, and a lessening of anxiety. But she told me that one other aspect probably continued to bother her more than the actual wreck and its associated traumas. What made her feel the worst, and what had stuck with her the longest, was the look on her mother s face when she (the mother) walked into the hospital, not knowing if her daughter had been badly injured. So we tapped on her guilt in that situation. Even though I feel really guilty about the look on my mother s face and, 23

24 Even though I feel responsible for my mother s fear at the hospital and Even though I made my mother sick with grief for several hours while she though I might be dead It was during this last set of rounds that Kathy began to feel even better. At this point I asked her to tune into the idea of driving on that overpass, and rate her anxiety. She tried to vividly imagine driving over that particularly steep stretch of highway. Before we started tapping, she had felt considerable fear and the tightness in her chest and stomach just from thinking about driving on that road. Now, however, she could not call up any fear. She felt sure that she could confidently tackle that part of the highway. I tested her new confidence by having her imagine coming over the crest of the hill and seeing an accident on the road below her. She said she had maybe a little anxiety, maybe a 1 or 2 on the scale we had been imagining. So we did a couple of rounds on: Even though I m afraid it might happen again and Even though I might have another accident like the one before At this point Kathy felt completely clear of this phobia. We were not able to test her at that moment, she would have to do that on her own by actually driving on that stretch of the freeway. It might be that she would find a new aspect as she drove over the freeway in that spot. Perhaps the particular time of day would trigger memories of her previous accident, or perhaps a certain color of car in front of her might cause her to remember more about that day in her youth. And her symptoms might return. On the other hand, it was very possible that she might never feel those particular symptoms in that situation ever again. EFT typically produces permanent relief of symptoms when the anchoring events, or root causes, of a problem have been cleared with tapping. In this case the word cleared refers to the fact that the negative emotion or negative reaction has dissipated from the situation. GOUT IN BOTH FEET This next case study demonstrates the power of EFT to help a purely physical problem. It also illustrates the fact that we often know, at some level, what is really at the root of our pain. 24

25 Bob had very painful gout in his left foot and was just recovering from gout in his right foot when I met him. Medications and other treatments had produced a slight improvement, but the gout wasn't going away. After chatting for a few minutes about EFT, Bob rated his pain for me. Sitting down he gave it an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10, but he said it would probably be a ten if he were to put any weight on it. (He was using a walking stick to get around without hurting his foot.) We started by tapping on the pain itself, and the swelling, just to see what would happen. We used the following Set Ups: Even though my foot hurts I deeply and completely accept myself Even though I have this pain in my foot Even though my foot is swollen We made very little progress with these Set Up statements. Bob said the tapping felt good, and he felt maybe a little relaxation in his foot. He rated the pain at about a 6 or 7. We did a couple more rounds, but the pain did not decrease noticeably. I had already suspected that we would need to address some deeper issues than the obvious presenting symptoms. For those with hypnotherapy training or who have read Louise Hay s book Heal Your Body, you know that a problem with the feet can represent fear of moving forward, or fear of the future. I asked Bob if he had any clues as to a potential emotional cause for his gout. Bob was very open minded about pursuing an emotional or mind-body connection, but we didn't get anywhere for the next few minutes. So I asked Bob to fill-in-the-blank on the following statement to draw out his unconscious knowledge. If I get over this gout then I will have to??? As soon as I got to the blank, Bob grinned and blurted out I ll have to go back to work! Eureka, we found it! I had a strong intuition that the job territory had everything to do with the gout. So I asked for any reason why he would want to miss work, and he gave me a rundown of his current work situation. 25

26 Bob worked at a very successful and fast growing company that always seemed to be short on employees, owing to the constant increase in new customers. Being a supervisor and minority owner in the company, he felt tremendous pressure to take up the slack so that customers would get good service. For Bob that meant hour days and working some Saturdays as well. (He is an artist and novelist to boot, and 12 hour days leave little time for a second career.) Bob had worked this grueling schedule for a long time and saw no end in site. As long as the company kept growing, they would always be short on employees, and Bob would seldom, if ever, get a day off or a vacation. As he told this story, I didn t have to connect the dots for him, he could see an obvious connection between gout and having some time off of work. When he had had gout in his other foot, he had missed about four days of work, and now he was missing several more. So now we had a lot to tap on. We used a number of Set Up phrases for the next 20 minutes or so, but for the sake of brevity I will summarize the procedure below. Here are some of the statements which we used: Even though I feel like I will never get a break from work. Even though I see no end in site to my heavy workload Even though I feel guilty taking time off from work, because I own part of the company, and I feel responsible for its success Even though I think things will fall apart if I don t take up the slack Even though I feel guilty asking the company to hire more help and so on I periodically asked for a rating on Bob s pain. Both the pain and the swelling came down considerably while we tapped, and Bob reported feeling whooshes and zings of energy flowing from his feet out his head during some of the rounds. His foot grew noticeably smaller before our very eyes. We ran out of time, though, and had to wrap things up with Bob s pain still at about a 1 or 2. We had made progress in finding an emotional root for the gout, and Bob could continue to use EFT on his own if he chose to do so. A few days later he reported that the gout pain had continued to subside and he had returned to work the next Monday (we had tapped on a Saturday). More importantly, he informed his boss that he was going to work a more reasonable 26

27 schedule in the future. He had no guilt about asking for this change. His attitude toward work had shifted considerably during our session of tapping. The success stories above represent only a fraction of what the Emotional Freedom Techniques can do. The tapping process can literally be applied to ANY issue in your life! 27

28 COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT EFT: What will happen when I tap, will I feel anything changing? Sometimes when you tap you will feel a verifiable physical change in your body, usually indicated by a big yawn, is deep breath, a burp, laughter, or a noticeable relaxation in your shoulders, throat, or stomach. Other times people report feeling lighter all over. Mentally, you may notice that an issue you worried about before simply does not concern you anymore. Are there any negative side effects of EFT? As for side effects, here are the ones I have encountered: --a feeling of relaxation after tapping --tiredness and a need for extra sleep after an intense breakthrough --excessive yawning or even burping (energy shifts are taking place) --feeling thirsty What if I am driving my car and I want to tap? One of the best times to tap on issues that are bothering you is while you are driving or waiting at stop lights. I use the Collarbone spot for the Set Up phrase while I am driving a car or if one of my hands is full at any time. But any spot will do for the Set Up. How long will it take me to learn EFT? To learn the mechanics of EFT will take you about one hour. To learn the art of delivery of EFT will require additional training and practice over a period of weeks or months. CONCLUSION: On to the Issues! If you have read this manual and started tapping, congratulations. You have just put a turbo rocket onto your personal development go-cart. This manual scarcely touches on the vast potential of EFT as a tool for personal evolution. At this point, you may feel ready to pursue some vigorous results with EFT. The following pages have instruction for how to begin applying EFT to your prosperity issues. Addressing your core prosperity issues with EFT can jump start you on the road to allowing yourself to receive abundance. 28

29 Common Limiting Beliefs Most of us have learned and then internalized a number of limiting beliefs about money during our childhood. Here are some examples of some typical Limiting Beliefs relating to money and prosperity: You have to work hard to make money Women need a man to support them You have to be born rich or just lucky to have money You have to have a college degree to make a lot of money I m not the rich one (smart one, financially astute one, etc.) in my family Money is dirty, bad, unspiritual You can t make money doing what you love Creative people are poor (starving artist syndrome) There is a limited supply of money if I earn money I am taking it away from someone else It s very easy to create EFT Set-Ups to address each of these limiting beliefs and their many aspects. Some examples are given in the next section, and you can brainstorm your own as well. Try the ones listed on the following pages, and if you think of others that work for you use them as well. 29

33 Using EFT Daily To Anchor Your Desires In addition to being a powerful tool to help you remove limiting beliefs, EFT can be used to anchor new Desires into your energy system As part of your daily exercises you will be given positive EFT setup to install into your energy system. You can use this technique anytime you want to beef up your manifesting power or when you want to trigger strong, positive emotions related to a specific desire. To use EFT to set an anchor the format for the setup changes a bit. anchoring setup phrase is formulated like this: The Even though in the past I believed (past limiting belief), I now choose to know that (the opposite of the past limiting belief). Get really creative with your setups and let your joyful, playful spirit have fun with these setups. Here are some examples to get you started: Even though in the past I believed that I could only make money if I worked hard, I now choose to know that I can joyfully and easily make all the money I need and more. Even though in the past I believed that if I could spend money as fast as I could earn it, I know choose to know that I can make all the money I need and more and save and invest my money wisely to make me even more money. Even though in the past I believed that I didn t know how to manage money, I now choose to effectively and powerfully manage my money with great wisdom and clarity. Even though in the past I believed that I had to do everything by myself, I now choose to know that I am surrounded by magnificent, supportive people who can effectively and powerfully support me and I joyfully and wisely delegate my responsibilities. Even though in the past I struggled to follow-through and commit to my success, I now choose to know that follow-through and commitment are easy for me and the cornerstone actions to ensure my success. As you can see, this exercise can be fun and fulfilling. You can tap these installations any time you desire. Let your imagination go wild! Create for yourself everything you desire and more! 33

34 Introduction to the Daily Activities We have been blessed to be born at this glorious time on Earth. Creative teachings and understandings are being brought forth in so many magnificent ways. If you go to any bookstore, search the internet and watch television, you will see that there are many, many great prosperity teachers out there saying pretty much the same thing: 1. You are the creator of your own reality. 2. Know what you want. 3. Believe that you can have it. 4. Take action to get it. 5. Only focus on what you want. 6. Be delighted and joyfully expectant that you will get what you want. 7. Be grateful for what you do have. This is, of course, a very brief, very stream-lined summary of the teachings available to us. The intention of the playbook is to give you practical exercises to help you implement these very important steps to creating the life you desire. I created this playbook mostly in response to a need that I struggled with in the development of my own prosperity consciousness. I have read many, many books about Universal Law, faith and money, making money, managing money, investing money, affirming money, etc. You name it. I ve probably read it! There is so much great information out there! And even though I understood it, I couldn t seem to make it happen for myself. I tried desiring with passion. I tried writing and saying affirmations. (In fact, I bet you I have written over a million affirmations in the last few years.) I tried creative visualizations. I tried just doing things and none of it worked. Not only that, I had a really hard time sticking to any one program for an extended period of time. I would either forget to do my homework, get bored or just plain set it aside and quit. It finally occurred to me, after years of attending workshops, thinking, reading and writing, that the one component missing for me in the whole prosperity game was balance. 34

35 It seemed like every abundance angle that I tackled was close, but not quite enough. If I got clarity on my desires, I still didn t know what to do with the clarity. How could I make my dreams come true? And what if I didn t believe that they could come true? If I worked on my limiting beliefs, it still didn t help me know what to do to make my dreams come true. And if I powered on, as seemed most natural to me, and just tried to make things happen with action, the only thing I got was exhausted, frustrated and burnedout. Each one of those components, desire, belief and action were crucial for creating what I wanted in my life. And I didn t achieve the success I was dreaming of until I actually got clear and implemented all three components. There are many, many wonderful books out there. I don t want to spend a whole lot of time focusing on prosperity teachings in this playbook because there are so many wonderful writers who have said what I believe in so many clear and inspired ways. So, if you find that you need more depth and information, please refer to the suggested reading list at the back of the playbook. (In fact, I suggest that if you are committed to being a serious prosperity student that you buy several of these books and read for 10 or 15 minutes each day. This is a powerful action that you can take to continue to anchor prosperity principles in your brain. New knowledge and understanding creates and reinforces the new neuropathways that you are building.) The basic premise of this playbook is this: In order to create the life you desire, you have to know what you want, believe you can have it and take appropriate action to get it. 35

Getting clear about what you want is the first step in deliberately creating what you desire. In my prosperity coaching practice, one of the most common things that my clients tell me is that they don t like their life, but they don t really know what they want. As frustrating as this can feel sometimes, knowing what you don t want is a good place to start clarifying what you do want. Imagine this for a minute. You are in a restaurant and you are unsure about what to order. So you tell the waitress to just bring you anything. What are the odds that you will get exactly what you want? Probably pretty low, right? Now imagine that the waitress brings you something that you really don t like. You might grumble and complain. You might even send it back. But, good news! You ve just gotten one step closer, to knowing what you want. You know that you want something other than what the waitress brought you! It is a start. Not the endpoint, but a good place to begin the process of getting clarity. Your exercise today is to fill out the Measures of Personal P.E.A.C.E. for on the following pages. (P.E.A.C.E. is an acronym form Personal Evolution and Consciousness Expansion ). Don t take a lot of time to complete this exercise. Just go with whatever answer seems to flow naturally. This is not a tool designed to make you feel worse about your life. It is simply a good tool to move you closer to recognizing what it is you DO want! 37

Your imagination is one of your most important creative tools. Stop for a minute and take a look around you. Notice the things in your room. Maybe you have a computer or a TV in your room or on your desk. Everything that is in form came first from someone s imagination. Everything that is in form starts first in Mind. Have you ever watched children playing? Notice how when they play pretend that they aren t pretending. They really become the character they are imagining. Their imagination feels very real to them. Over time many of us have lost our ability to imagine and even to dream. We get deeply conditioned to be realistic or to stop being idealists. When we lost our ability to imagine, dream or think big we disconnect from our mental magic wand. How many times have you really wanted something and said the words, I can t imagine having.? If you can t imagine it, you won t get it. Yesterday you focused on what you don t want as the first step to helping you get clarity about what you do want. Today you are going to take that a step further. Write one of the following words at the top of each paper: Health, Relationships, Creative Fulfillment, Prosperity, Living Conditions. Put on some lively, joyful music, get out your colored pencils and write a list under each one of those categories of what you would like each one of those areas of your life to look like. Don t spend more than one or two minutes on each category. Just go with what comes out of your head. DO NOT WORRY ABOUT WHETHER YOU THINK THIS IS POSSIBLE OR NOT. This is your imagination UNLIMITED. Just have fun with this. Pretend like you are five years old and this is your Christmas list. 40

41 Here are some examples of what you might write: Career: 1. I have a lavishly abundant passive income. 2. I am the best-selling author of many, many books. 3. I work three days a week. 4. I can take off from work whenever I want to with great ease and peace. 5. I am famous for my work. When you are finished, go back and reread what you have written. After you have read each of your lists, check in with your body and your heart and feel what emotion you are feeling. Do these ideas make you feel happy? Do you feel excited? Or perhaps, frustrated? How you feel isn t important right now. Just identify how you feel, then choose a color that best reflects your feelings and use it to write the word that best defines your feeling for each category. 4. List your 5 successes! 5. Your EFT setup for today is: Even though I gave up dreaming a long time ago, I now choose to unleash my imagination and dream big dreams because I know that dreaming is an important tool to help me create exactly what I want. 41

Daily Abundance Activity: Today we are going to continue to play with your imagination. You will need your notebook and your colored pencils. Play the same music that you played yesterday. Using music is a powerful way to amp up your dreaming. Music evokes emotional energy and activates parts of the brain that make it easier for you to dream. Using the same music also helps you anchor your dream into your consciousness. Have you ever noticed that certain songs will remind you of specific experiences and emotions? This is called anchoring an anchor can be a song, a physical motion or even a word that your brain associates consistently with something else. You can create anchors to help you stay focused on specific mental thoughts or targets. You can also use anchors to help you create a deliberate emotional state or to improve your emotional state. Each time you intentionally activate your imagination in a creative process, play the same song or music to anchor your dream even deeper into your experience. Then you can take the song with you and play it in your car or even on your computer. Each time you hear your song, it will trigger your consciousness to connect with your dream. The more you focus on your dream and the more feeling you attach to your dream, the faster it will come into form. Today you are going to pick one category from yesterday. Choose the category that excites you the most. Take the list that you created for this category and write an imaginary story about what it is going to be like when everything on this list comes true. Be sure to include a date and lots and lots of details. 42

43 Here is the beginning of an example: MY NEW HOUSE It is 5:00 in the morning on Friday, September 16, My room is dark and the house is still. My children are all still asleep. I love the gentle quiet of the morning. I go downstairs and get a cup of steaming hot espresso coffee from my new Starbucks thermos coffee maker. I take my delicious coffee back up to my bedroom and start my day in my brand new house. I love this house. It is big and old and filled with rich character. I love the way my room is upstairs, quiet and free from the chaos downstairs. I love that the kids have so much room to play and have friends over and that the house is always filled with the laughter and sounds of kids. Are you ready? Put on your music, get out your notebook and start dreaming! When you are done, remember to celebrate! Get up and dance! Move your body! Groove your soul!! 4. List your 5 successes! 5. Your EFT setup for today is: Even though in the past I was afraid to let myself know what I really wanted, I now choose to experience total clarity because I know that my clarity IS my power! 43

Daily Abundance Activity: There are only two kinds of emotions, ones that feel good and ones that don t feel good. Or, stated in a different way, there are feelings that feel good and feelings that feel bad. Both kinds of feelings are essential to our well being, for they tell us where we are in relation to where we want to be. Energetically, we are hard-wired to feel good when we are where we want to be. Happiness and joy are our natural emotional states. When you are pursuing your desires in an unlimited way, you will experience good feelings. You will be in a joyful state. In other words, when you know what you want, believe without a doubt that you can have what you want and you are taking deliberate actions to create what you want, you feel good. Your emotions are your inner navigational system. How you feel at any given point in time indicates how close you are to believing that you can actually have what it is you desire. For example, let s say that you want a new, expensive car. In your mind you know exactly what kind of car you want, what color, the style of interior and the model. Every time you think about this car or every time you see one of those cars on the road, you notice the car, but seeing it makes you feel sad and frustrated. You feel sad and frustrated because you believe that, although you really like this car, you ll never have one of your own because you will never be able to afford one. Or that people like you don t drive cars like that. Or whatever limiting belief you may be experiencing Sadness and frustration can be characterized as negative or bad feelings. When you are experiencing sadness and frustration (or any other emotions that don t feel good) your emotional navigation system is telling you that something you are thinking about or doing is out of alignment with your desire. In other words, you want the car, but you don t believe you can have it. 44

45 Anytime you experience negative feelings, they are communicating to you that what you are thinking about or what you are doing is blocking you from creating what you really want. The stronger the feelings, the deeper the resistance you have to your desire. Today I want you to learn to listen to your emotional navigation system. I want you to pay attention to your dreams and how they make you feel. Reread your dream story that you wrote yesterday. With a red pen or pencil write how each part of the statement makes you feel and why you think you feel that way. Here is an example: It is 5:00 in the morning on Friday, September 16, (Sad and frustrated. I ll never have the money for a new house by that date). My room is dark and the house is still. My children are all still asleep. I love the gentle quiet of the morning (Exhausted and sad. I am always too tired to get up in the morning. How am I ever going to get the time to take care of myself or be disciplined enough to get up early. I ve never been successful at any kind of discipline before.). I go downstairs and get a cup of steaming hot espresso coffee from my new Starbucks thermos coffee maker. I take my delicious coffee back up to my bedroom and start my day in my brand new house. I love this house. It is big and old and filled with rich character. I love the way my room is upstairs, quiet and free from the chaos downstairs. I love that the kids have so much room to play and have friends over and that the house is always filled with the laughter and sounds of kids (Sad because, although I love the idea of having lots of kids at my house, I wonder how am I going to feed them all? And is it possible for us to have enough room for my son s teenage friends to feel comfortable in our house. Can I really afford a house big enough for all of us?) The purpose of this exercise is NOT to make you feel bad or to encourage you to focus on your negative feelings. The purpose of this exercise is to help you identify where you may have limiting beliefs. We will be addressing many ways to help you modify and eliminate limiting beliefs as your prosperity revolution continues. But for today use EFT to tap on any of your resistant beliefs related to your dreams. 45

46 Here are some sample setups from the dream example: Even though I don t believe that I will have the money to buy the house, I deeply and completely love and accept myself. Even though I don t believe that I have enough time to take care of myself, I deeply and completely love and accept myself. Even though I don t believe that I can ever be disciplined, I deeply and completely love and accept myself. Even though I m frustrated that I ll never have enough money to take care of myself and my children the way I want to, I deeply and completely love and accept myself. 4. List your 5 successes! 5. Your EFT setup for today is: Even though in the past I believed that I couldn t have everything I want in life, I now choose to know that all I have to do is dream, believe and take action and it is easy for me to create everything I want and more! 46

Daily Abundance Activity: Let s review before we play with today s activity. So far we have discussed the following ideas: a. In order to create the life you want, you have to know what you want. b. Sometimes knowing what you don t want is a great way to help you clarify what you do want. c. Your imagination is a powerful tool to help you sculpt your vision of what you do want. d. You emotions are your navigation system to help you identify whether you believe you can get what you want. e. You have to believe that you can have what you want in order to allow yourself to create or receive what you want. f. When you believe that you can have what you want, then you take actions to support your receiving what you want. Today we are going to be talking about resistance. Think about this for a minute. How many prosperity programs, exercise programs, diets and other willpowerbased re-trainings have you tried? How many times have you just quit for various reasons? Don t worry. This process is not about reaching a place of perfection and then being done! Your current state of being is the sum total of ALL your experiences thus far and you are in the perfect place to make powerful changes. You have been creating in your life all along. You are now learning how to create deliberately so that you can get exactly what you want! If you are like most people, you probably don t have willpower. Most people don t. Lacking willpower is not a character flaw. It simply means that you don t have consistent access to willpower energy. It doesn t mean that you can t commit to things and get them done. You can. 47

48 But you have to know how to tackle the resistance that creeps in and stops you from believing that you can have what you want and taking deliberate actions to allow it. Anytime you start to focus on your desires, you can rest assured that if you have any limits in your belief system about receiving it, your mind will scream loudly in protest. Your mind is not your enemy. Your mind is very literal and is trying to protect you from experiencing pain and suffering. For example, let s say that you made a lot of money at one time in your life and you got divorced and your ex-wife took all your money and threatened to take even more if you ever tried to see your children again. Unconsciously your mind may have made up a story that sounds something like this: Hmmmm let s not make any more money. Every time we make money, terrible and sad things happen to us and we lose all the money anyway. So, let s not make money again. It hurts. Or, let s say that you made a lot of money working very hard at a job you hated and every morning you struggled to get out of bed because you didn t want to go to work. Your mind may have created the following story: I have to give up my life, my desires and my joy in order to work and make money. We all have stories in our minds about why we can t have what we want. Take a few minutes right now and write down the top ten reasons why you don t have money in your life right now Can you see how these stories might deeply impact you and keeping you from making money and experiencing joy? 48

49 Resistance to change is normal. Everybody experiences it in some form or another. Resistance can show up in many different ways. I always tell my clients that resistance is a good sign. It means that your limiting beliefs are coming into your awareness. Awareness is the key to change. Being aware of your resistance helps you identify potential self-inflicted obstacles that can be keeping your from manifesting your desires. Resistance can look like this: 1. Boredom. (These exercises are boring.) 2. Forgetting. (I know I should do these exercises but I keep forgetting to do them.) 3. Knowingness. (I don t have to do these exercises. I already know all this stuff.) 4. Not having enough time. (I love this playbook but I just don t have enough time to do all these exercises.) 5. Being inconsistent. (I know I should have some kind of habit or rhythm in doing these exercises but I just can t seem to be disciplined enough.) These are just a few examples. You may be having your own unique experience. Your resistance is a cluster of thought patterns that you have probably experienced for a long period of time. These thought patterns have kept you from living the life you want to live. Remember, it took time for your mind to create your resistant neuropathways. It feels much easier, familiar and even comfortable to experience resistance. In order to create new, prosperous neuropathways, you are going to have to practice new ways of thinking and new habits for 21 days straight. Take your number one reason why you are not earning the money you think you should be earning and write it down. Really look at it. When you take it out of context, is it funny? If so, have a really good long belly laugh about your limiting belief. Next you are going to write a logical argument about why your limiting belief doesn t make sense. Here is a personal example: One of my resistant beliefs used to be I am not very good in the areas of money and finance. It s not my strength. 49

50 Here is my logical rebuttal: You work as a professional psychic and make FAR more money that most people. You can make your dollars stretch to feed 6 people, 3 cats, a gerbil and a parakeet and still be able to afford airplane tickets and hotel costs to attend workshops in California. You have a MENSA level IQ and give OTHERS the skills to make money. You took 2 semesters of math, Statistics for science, in college and made A s both semesters. Your belief is ridiculous! Fire away at your mind with logical. Make eye contact with yourself and read your belief and your rebuttal in the mirror. Thank your mind for trying to take care of you. Then do your homework. Resistance is temporary. And futile! 4. List your 5 successes! 5. Your EFT setup for today: Even though I am resisting change; I am not even sure that I know how to be successful, I now choose to embrace these powerful, positive changes because I know that I can have anything that I believe. And I want success, joy and freedom! 50

51 DAY 6 1. Read the Abundance Manifesto out loud and with great feeling! 2. Make a deposit to your Personal Prosperity Account. 3. Your Daily Abundance Activity: Today we are going to add a new idea to the rules of creation. It s an old idea; maybe one you heard from your mother or your grandmother. Like Attracts Like. Things that are similar tend to congregate together. Take a look around you at the people in your life. Notice how you all have certain common values, maybe even common levels of income and similar jobs. You attract people who are like yourself. Now try this. Think one of your favorite negative thoughts. I know. This is not fun but just set a timer and try it for one minute. Did you notice how quickly one thought started attracting a lot of other similar thoughts? You may have even found that one thought opened the door to a chain of memories related to that thought and before you knew it you were thinking about how those things might happen again in the future. Good thing you set the timer. Now set the timer and try this exercise again, only this time I want you to think powerful positive thoughts. If you struggle to find a positive thought (as many people do), you can use of the examples listed here: 1. I am a powerful, mighty money magnet. I attract money where ever I go. 2. Being rich and joyful is my natural state and it is easy for me! 3. I live in a large house on the beach. 4. I have lots of free time to rest and relax. 5. I am married to the love of my life and I feel so blessed! Did you notice how once you had one positive thought, more positive thoughts followed? Were you able to imagine what some of these thoughts looked like in your imagination? Could you feel the energy of these positive thoughts? (If you wrestled with this part of the exercise, now is a good time to stop and use EFT on any negative thoughts that may have come up.) 51

52 This is called the Universal Law of Attraction. Like attracts like. Like thoughts will attract like thoughts. And your thoughts will create actions and experiences that mirror your thoughts. When you want to create the life you desire, you have to really pay attention to what you are thinking about and focusing your attention on. Your thoughts attract opportunities to make what you are thinking about come true. You also have to pay attention to the actions that you are taking in your life right now. Your actions will create results that are similar in nature to your actions and your thoughts. For example, if you believe that you have to work hard to make money. And your actions will probably reflect that belief. You probably work hard for your money. (And, it is actually possible to make money and NOT work hard!) You might not even consciously know how to make money without working hard. And, the more you work, the more money you make, but in order to make more money, you have to work harder. Your belief and your focus make you into a Work For Money magnet. Thus, you attract opportunities to work hard to make money. Think about this. If you think you have to work hard for you money, does your work ever get easier? Or do you keep working harder and harder for you money? When you think about how hard you have to work to make money, you just keep drawing to yourself more hard work in order to make money. To break this cycle, you have to break your point of attraction. In other words, if you want to have a different experience, you have to change your thoughts and what you are focusing on. Today you are going to retrain your mind to attract what you truly want into your life. The next part of this exercise is about practicing changing your focus so that you are deliberately and consciously thinking about what you want in great detail. The more you think about what you want, the more you will draw what you want into your life. For the next part of this exercise you will need a copy of your dream from Day 3. Take a minute to reread your dream. Then get into a comfortable position, relax, close your eyes and really see your dream in your mind s eye. See yourself really living your dream. Notice how it makes you feel. 52

53 Notice all the wonderful details about the dream. Pay attention to all the great little twists and delights that you add to your dream when you imagine it in your mind. When you feel complete with your vision, write down all the positive feelings and thoughts you experienced during your vision. Write down as many or as few as you can recall. The quantity is not important. This is just the beginning of learning powerful new ways to focus your mind on creating exactly what you want in your life! 4.List your 5 successes: 5. Your EFT setup for today is: Even though in the past I focused on my negative thoughts, I now choose powerful, positive thoughts that support me attracting exactly what I desire right now! 53

Your Daily Abundance Activity: This is the seventh day of your prosperity revolution. Today s activity, Planned Focus, is an activity that you will be repeating every seven days in this playbook. Planned Focus is designed to help you deepen your clarity about what you want in you life and what actions you need to take to move you closer to that desire. Using Planned Focus every week keeps you on target and deliberate in your thoughts and actions. When you are focusing on what you want and taking powerful actions to get yourself there, you will speed up your attraction process. Repeating this exercise each week pushes you to really get clear about what you want. You will find as you do this exercise each week that some of your desires stay on your list with each revision. Other desires are short lived. You will need a timer and your journal. Step 1. Start with a fresh page in your journal. Set the timer for one minute and write down all the feelings you would like to experience in your life. These should be short, one-word phrases like: Joyful Peaceful Wise Loved Loving Relaxed Confident Faith-filled Abundant Prosperous Step 2. Set the timer for 8 minutes and write down all the things you desire in your life. Just go crazy and let it rip! Focus on all of your desires. Don t worry about details. Don t worry about how you are going to make all this happen. Just focus on limitless desires. 54

55 Some examples might be: A series of best-selling books. A trip to Greece. A 5 carat diamond ring. A joy-filled, supportive, healthy relationship with my children. Step 3. Set the timer for 6 minutes and take each desire and write a to-do list for the week. Your actions can be big or small. The first few times you do this exercise, you may want to choose small actions until you get the feel for your own creative energy. Remember small steps can make a big difference. The journey of a 1000 miles begins with a single step. Your small actions may be something simple like day dreaming about a desire or looking at pictures in a magazine. Over time, as you repeat this exercise, you will become more and more clear about your true desires. As you gain more clarity, it will become easier to take bigger and bigger actions. Here are some examples: Desire: To write a series of best-selling books. Action: Commit to writing for at least one hour this week. Schedule the hour and write it down in my appointment book. Honor my commitment and celebrate when I have completed my writing! Desire: Go on a trip to Greece. Action: Go to the bookstore and look at travel books about Greece. Celebrate my taking action! Desire: Own a 5-carat diamond ring. Action: Go to a jewelry store and try on rings. Celebrate my taking action! Desire: Have a joy-filled, supportive, healthy relationship with my children. Action: Spend one-on-one time with each child every day this week. Tell my children that I love them every day this week. Schedule a family outing and do something fun together! Celebrate my taking action! The Planned Focus exercise will help you stream-line your actions so that each day of your week is deliberate and intentional. We will deepen some of these concepts as we continue in the playbook. Remember to celebrate each action that you follow-through with! 55

Your Daily Abundance Activity: Have you ever played an instrument or learned a new skill? When you first started, did you do it perfectly? Probably not. Most likely you had to practice over and over again until you reached a certain level of mastery. Learning new things takes time and repetition. Remember that it takes 21 days of consistent repetition to build a new neuropathway. There are two kinds of habits: 1) Doing 2) Not Doing It takes 21 days in a row of doing something new before it becomes a habit. It also takes 21 days of NOT doing something before it becomes a habit. You are learning to act and think in new ways. These are new habits and require that you practice your new skills every day. Changing your habits takes commitment and repetition. Some people are more naturally inclined to have rhythms and patterns in their behavior. It is easier for some people to get up every day and do the same thing than it is for others. Rhythm is simply consistent repetition. Consistent repetition is a key ingredient to success. Consistent repetition is simply focus. Remember the Law of Attraction is about focus. Where your attention flows, your energy goes. And where your energy goes is where your results show. What you are focused on is what you will attract into your life. There are three key components in the manifesting model, desire, belief and action. You have to know what you want, believe you can have it and take action to get it. A lot of abundance teachers will tell you that you can think your way to wealth. The mind and your beliefs are key components in the manifesting model. 57

58 Some abundance teachers will tell you to just set a goal and go out and make something happen. Action is also a key component in the manifesting model but action alone won t sustain abundance. Habits of abundance require clarity of desire, clear beliefs and deliberate actions, repeated over time. That can seem overwhelming when you are working to create new habits! But, here is the fascinating part. When you look at the manifesting model, notice that it is not linear. I have watched many of my students get stuck in one of the corners of the model. They wrestle with getting clear on their desires or they struggle with blocks in their beliefs or they take so much action that they burn themselves out and they still don t have what they want. The beauty of having a non-linear model is that when you get stuck in a corner of the model, you can take a new approach and change your point of creation by consciously moving to a new corner of the model. 58

59 For example, let s say you are really want a brand-new expensive car but you just don t believe you can have it. You have used EFT, day dreaming and affirmations over and over again and you re still stuck. It is easy stay in a place of frustration and bemoan the fact that you are stuck and you ll never get what you want. This is very common and if you are feeling this way, don t despair! Remember, these feelings of frustration and even confusion are simply old patterns of resistance from your subconscious mind. Old thought patterns are just old habits. You can break the chains of your old habits by doing something different and new. Old habits are simply old energy patterns in your brain. Energy always takes the path of least resistance. The brain builds neuropathways because neuropathways make it easier for energy to flow through the nervous system. When you do something new and different you change the flow of energy in your brain. It takes a little effort because you are asking your nervous system to make energy flow down a new path. And the new path is not as well worn and smooth as the old path. You are simply creating new neuropathways, new habits, new actions, and new ways of thinking. You can jump start any part of the manifesting model by moving to a different corner and trying something new. If you are feeling stuck in your beliefs, then take action to change them. Breaking old patterns might look like this: If you are struggling believing that you can have a new car and you can t imagine what it would be like to own the car of your dreams, then take action and go test drive the car. Taking concrete actions can jump start your beliefs and make it easier for you to imagine what it is you desire. Actually being behind the wheel of the car of your dreams can make it much easier for you to imagine what it would be like to own one. Another example might be that you believe that your life is hard and all about hard work. And the more you focus on your hard work, the harder your work gets and you get more of it! (Yikes!) This is just an old belief habit. To break the old habit, you might have to make yourself leave work early and go do something fun. Yup. I said go do something fun! 59

60 And, I can assure you, from great personal experience, that this might be a very difficult thing to do, at first. But consistently making time for fun will create a new habit and a new focus. Remember, wherever your focus of attention flows, is your point of attraction and creation. When creating fun becomes a habit, your work becomes more fun, easier and probably, even more profitable. We create more abundance when we are in the habit of experiencing joy. New habits require new desires, beliefs and actions. Pay attention to what corner of the model you might be stuck in and shake up the energy a little! Today you are going to begin to create new habits and change old patterns. Go back to your list of desires that you created during the Planned Focus exercise. Pick a desire that you may have been trying to create and perhaps you feel stuck or frustrated with. What corner of the Manifesting Model are you stuck in? Are you wrestling with limiting beliefs? Are you taking action and not managing your beliefs? Are you unclear about what you want? Do you need to take action, shift your belief or clarify your desire? Can you change your approach and work with a different corner of the model to jumpstart your creation? Remember habits require repetition and follow through. You are just changing old energy patterns! Today commit to changing your old pattern or habit of creation. Either take action, tackle a belief or dream a new dream and shake up the energy! Have fun! 60

Your Daily Abundance Activity: Today we are going to talk more about habits. Let s start first by reviewing some of the basic principles of manifesting: a. In order to create the life you want, you have to know what you want. b. Sometimes knowing what you don t want is a great way to help you clarify what you do want. c. Your imagination is a powerful tool to help you sculpt your vision of what you do want. d. You emotions are your navigation system to help you know whether you believe you can get what you want. e. You have to believe that you can have what you want in order to allow yourself to create or receive what you want. f. When you believe that you can have what you want, then you take actions to support your receiving what you want. g. Like attracts like. Where you put your attention and your focus is where your energy goes. And results show. Where you put your attention and focus is where your energy goes. And results show. Take a look at your life right now. Everything in your life right now is here because you attracted it by focusing on it. I know. If you are like me, there are a lot of things in your life that leave you wondering just why, exactly, did you create THAT in your life? But think about it. The things or situations in your life that leave you scratching your head are perfect manifestations of what you were thinking or worrying about. How many circumstances have you experienced that turned out exactly like you thought they would? How many times have you said to yourself, This is exactly what I was afraid would happen See? You can manifest whatever you focus on. Your focus or your point of attraction is a habit. You probably have developed the habit of worrying or being prepared for the worse case scenario. In fact, you may have even learned that these are good mindsets to experience. Being 62

63 responsible means that you are prepared for every possible outcome. So you prepare for every disaster possible with fear in mind. And you focus on fearful outcomes. And you end up with magnificent disasters! Changing your focus and your mindset is simply a matter of establishing new mental habits. It is easy to be focused on disaster, worry and the worst-case scenario. You ve built a neuropathway that makes those thoughts zoom through your nervous system with great ease. And, the easier it is for those thoughts to zoom through your body and your energy system, the faster you attract circumstances to reflect your focus. It takes more energy to develop a new mindset and new mental habits, than it does to have familiar, old thoughts. You are constructing new neuropathways. It is not unexpected that you naturally want to follow the easiest course. It may feel easier, at this point, to focus on your old thoughts and fears than to create new points of attraction. You need a catalyst to inspire you to create new points of attraction. A catalyst is a thought that inspires you to do something new and establish new thought habits. The first step in the Planned Focus exercise is to write down all the states of being that you would like to experience, such as joy, freedom and wisdom. The purpose of that first step is to help you recognize that what you desire (the second step in the exercise) will create the circumstances that will facilitate those feelings for you. In other words, when you get what you want in your life, you will have those good feelings that you desire. Having those good feelings is the real reason, the big why you want those things in the first place. For example, you may have written that you might want to own your own big house. The underlying reason that you want your own house is that you want to feel safe and secure and like you have a home somewhere. You may have written that you would like a $20, a month passive income. The motivation for that desire might be that you want to not have to worry about money anymore so that you can be fully present to your children and provide for them everything they desire. Recognizing why you want the things you want can help drive you to make the commitment and establish the habits necessary to create the life you dream of. Today you will need your Planned Focus activity from Day 7. Read your list of desires. (Doesn t it feel soooo good to read them?) (Are you getting excited about actually having those experiences in your life?) (Woohoo!) 63

64 Rewrite your list of desires. Next to each one of these desires, write down why you want these things. For example: I want a brand new Lexus GX470. I want that car because I would feel very abundant driving in it. I want a large, 5 bedroom home. I want that house because my children would have enough room to feel relaxed in it. We could have big parties there and be together. I want to write a series of best-selling books. I want to have a powerful, positive impact on the world. I want to share what I know and help others. Your underlying reasons, your big WHY s for wanting what you want, create the energy and the motivation to stay focused and manifest your desires. Your big WHY is what really drives you. It is the catalyst for inspiring you to make change. Part of my big WHY is my children. I have a vision of never saying no to my children s desires. I have a big picture of those crazy guys on my desk, grinning at me Whenever I feel like holding my hands in despair and quitting, I look at those four guys smiling at me and I immediately change my mindset. I have other big WHYs too. Remembering why I want what I want gives me energy to maintain my focus, even when it feels unnatural, and I am wrestling with resistance. Refocusing is simply a habit, a new pattern. Focusing on your underlying motivation gives you the energy to keep moving in the direction of your desires! Have fun! 64

Your Daily Abundance Activity: Today s exercise is one of the most important things you can do to speed up your prosperity consciousness. I encourage you to do some form of this exercise, even if it s in your head, at least once a day. The Universe is magic. What do you think of when you focus on the concept of magic? When we say that something is magical, we connote that it is joyful, easy, spontaneous and somewhat mystifying. When something is magical, it just appears with an unpredictable synchronicity. The Universe operates in a magical way. Anytime you have a desire and you have a belief that that desire can come true for you and you act as if that desire is already a part of your reality, then magic happens. When you want something, believe that you can have it and take deliberate actions to create it, the Universe delivers to you exactly what you want, frequently in mysterious and elaborately unexpected ways! It s as if there are legions of unseen Universal helpers floating around in the Universe gleefully facilitating the fulfillment of desires to anyone who has the courage and the clarity to ask for what they want. Can t you see them, the little fairies and angels just rubbing their hands together with delight waiting for someone on Earth to ask for something so that they can go to the Universal Warehouse and deliver it? We call the mysteries of the Universe miracles. A miracle is simply the fulfillment of a desire in a magical and effortless way. We are so conditioned to believe that we have to work hard to get whatever we want out of life. Certainly, it is possible to create whatever you want with great effort. I am sure many of us have done that before. But when you use sheer effort to create your desire, you wear out, burn out and lose your connection to joy and wonder. It is creation, absolutely, but the excitement and joy are gone and often, when we reach that endpoint of fulfillment, the achievement is hollow and unrewarding. Not only is the endpoint rather draining, it can also take a heck of a long time to get there. 66

67 When we create using sheer will and effort, we close ourselves off to the opportunity to experience miracles. We think we have to do it all ourselves and we deny the Universe the opportunity to use her magic and support us. In the process, our life experience loses its natural magic. This is our conditioning on this planet. Somewhere along the way we are told that dreaming isn t practical and we have to create something realistic with our lives. Realistic means that you give up the magic. I¹m going to share a secret with you. The Universe is good and wants desperately to share her goodness with you. The Universe is like a mother who sneaks a cookie and a note into your lunch box. Think about this for a minute. How many times have you experienced an unexpected, delightful fulfillment of a desire? How many times have you experienced miracles in your life? Today you will need your journal, and about 20 minutes. Set a timer for 10 minutes and make a list of everything you are grateful for in your life. Include everything that you have experienced in the past, everything that you are experiencing currently and anything that is coming up for you in the future that you feel pretty certain is going to be a part of your reality. As you are making this list, pay attention to how you feel in your body and your heart. Doesn t this feel good? This feeling good is very attractive! Remember that feeling good is your point of attraction. When you are in the energetic state of feeling good, you are opening yourself to experiencing the magic of the unseen forces of the Universe. Consciously using gratitude is a great way to shift your emotional energy any time your are experiencing feelings that don t feel good. Gratitude speeds up the creation process. When you finish, set the timer for another 10 minutes and make a list of all the miracles you have experienced in your life. Write down every time something magnificently easy and joyful just showed up in your life. How many times did a check in the mail save you at the last minute? How many times did thinks just click into place when you thought you were doomed? How many unexpected incredible amazing things have you experienced in your life? Isn t it amazing to realize that miracles happen every day? Miracles are all around us constantly. When you realize that miracles are not unusual events 67

68 that happen a few times in your life, but an almost everyday experience, you can relax into the knowingness that your dreams really will come true. Unseen forces are working hard to help you get everything you want and more. You don t have to do all the work. You don t have to do it all yourself. You are loved and supported. It is Universal Law. Ask, believe, and receive. The Universe is magic. 4. List your 5 successes: 5. Your EFT setup for today: Even though in the past I believed that I had to work hard to make my dreams come true, I now choose to remember that I am fully supported and loved by the Universe and miracles happen to me every day. 68

69 DAY Read the Abundance Manifesto out loud and with feeling. 2. Make a deposit to your Personal Prosperity Account. 3. Your Daily Abundance Activity: Today we are going to review the concept of Like Attracts Like, The Law of Attraction. What you are experiencing in your life today, you attracted into your life. Everything that you are experiencing from the electrical short in your dashboard of your car to the delicious meal you enjoyed last night, is a reflection of your beliefs. You are a giant vibrating magnet. Experiences that are of similar vibration to you are attracted to you. Everything you are experiencing is simply a physical experience of the energy, the vibration, that you are putting out into the Universe. Everything. Part of today s exercise involves looking at your life and examining what level of vibration you are putting out into the world. Remember that what you vibrate is what you will attract. Here s an interesting exercise. Everything we do and experience is a reflection of our beliefs and our vibration. How do you fix dinner? Do you eat and run, never stopping to sit and savor your food? Do you spend a lot of time preparing a meal for others and then end up doing all the dishes by yourself? Do you take time to actually eat? Does someone prepare your meal for you? Now think about all the reasons that you do not have the money you desire in your life. Can you see how your dinner pattern is similar to your money pattern? All of your life experiences are simply metaphors or messages that you are sending to yourself to help you understand what it is you are creating. Let s look at some more examples. 69

70 If you find that you get lost a lot, you may be wrestling with clarifying your desires and your direction in life. If your check engine light comes on in your car, you may need to stop and renew yourself. You might be driving too hard and too fast and not taking care of yourself. If you look at a penny on the ground and you don t pick it up because it isn t worth enough, you may not be valuing your money or yourself enough. These are simply messages or reflections to help you recognize at what level you are vibrating and attracting in your life. If you like what is around you and it brings you joy, then you are vibrating exactly where you want to be. If you don t like what you are experiencing, your whole world will show you what it is you are attracting. The purpose of this experience isn t to make you more miserable. It is simply to help you see what your point of attraction is and any changes that you may want to make. The fun part about this exercise is that, using the creation model: YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR POINT OF ATTRACTION FROM ANY CORNER OF THE MODEL. 70

71 What that means is that anytime you start to notice that your point of attraction is not what you desire it to be, you can either amp up your point of desire, examine your beliefs and take new actions to change your point of attraction. Let s go back to some of our examples. Let s say that you have a habit of getting lost and that you have recognized that this is a reflection of your lack of direction in your life. When you look at the Prosperity Model, you have three points of attack to change your creation manifestation. You can recognize a desire. You can establish a belief. You can take action. So, the first step is to identify your desire: 1. I want to always know where I am going and which direction to take. The second step is to establish your level of belief: 2. I believe that I can easily find my way. If this feels true for you then celebrate! If not, use EFT and find the root cause of your lack of belief. Keep working with EFT until you clear the root cause. The third step is to take action: 3. If I want to know where I am going then I should consult a map before I leave so that I have a plan for my direction. I should write the directions down and keep them in my car so that I have a constant reminder of where I am headed. I can also take phone numbers with me so that if I get lost along the way, I have a reference point to help me clarify my direction. This is a simple example. You can see how by taking a balanced approach to correcting the metaphorical representation of your belief system that you can change both your inner state of vibration and attract a desired outer experience. When you change your outer experience, you create for yourself more evidence that helps you anchor your new belief system and allows you to expand on it. In this example, when you start having a clear sense of direction and get to your destination with effortlessness and ease, you are gathering evidence for yourself that you can have this experience in other areas of your life. You ve just proved to yourself that you can change your life experience. If you can do it with driving, then you can do it in other areas of your life as well! 71

72 Today you are going to use the three points of attack to change your point of attraction. Identify a metaphor that is consistently showing up in your life. Recognize a condition or an experience in your life that is getting your attention. Once you have picked an experience that you would like to change, apply the three points of attack to create a new experience. 1. What is your desire related to this experience? 2. What is your level of belief related to this experience? Do you need to use EFT to clarify your belief? 3. What action do you need to take to change your experience? Keep a log of the changes that happen for you. Get ready to embrace real change in your life!! 4. List your 5 successes here: 5. Your EFT setup for today is: Even though in the past I thought I was powerless to change my experiences in life, I now choose to know that I have the power to create the exact experiences I want to have in my life. I am truly the creator of my own reality. 72

73 DAY Read the Abundance Manifesto out loud and with feeling. 2. Make a deposit to your Personal Prosperity Account. 3. Your daily Abundance Activity: You have within you access to all the insight, clarity and knowingness that you need to create the life you desire. You are infinitely wise. You are infinitely knowledgeable. Confusion and lack of clarity are simply distraction techniques from your subconscious mind. Wisdom is your natural state. You have within you a powerful navigation system. It has two key components: 1. Your Emotions. 2. Your Inner Wisdom. Let s review for a minute. Your emotions are what help you clarify that you are headed in the right direction. Your emotions help you feel when your beliefs and actions are in alignment with your desire. If you are imagining having what you want in your life and it feels good, then your beliefs are in alignment with your desires. You have a clear belief that you can have what you want. If you are doing something and it feels good, then you are acting in alignment with your desires. You are doing what you want. Anytime you experience negative feelings, your navigation system is telling you that something is out of alignment and needs attention. This is your inner alarm system. Whenever you experience bad feelings it simply means that it is time to sit down and evaluate what may be out of alignment for you. Are you asking for what you truly want, or are you compromising and asking for what you think you should have? 73

74 Do you really believe that you can have what you want? Do you need to do some creative imagining or EFT to clean up your belief system so that you can have what you want? Are you doing what you want to be doing? Or are your actions reflecting back to you that they are taking you farther and farther away from your desires? It is easy to get lost in the sea of emotions, especially when we feel them in a big way. It takes practice but with time you will learn how to quickly tune into your emotional navigation system and allow yourself to hear the message that your emotions are sending you. Your Inner Wisdom is the second tool that you have available to you to help you navigate your way towards the creation of your desires. Imagine this. Deep within yourself is your Authentic Self. This is the part of you that has big dreams, big desires, loves to play and seek fulfillment: Do you wake up every morning and feel this sense of urgency, like there is something you are supposed to be doing but you don t know what it is? Do you sometimes have flashes or intuitive insights about what you should or could be doing? Do you have experiences where you just know something and you don t know how you know but you know that you know? 74
