2 This slide show will show you - How to become eligible for lottery by creating your housing application. - How to set up a groups of roommates so that you and your friends can pick a room together. - The rules of Housing Lottery

3 Lottery is done in steps 1. Create and submit your housing application. 2. Create a roommate group. 3. Pick a room. This document is going to walk you through each step of creating and submitting your housing application.

4 Step 1 Go to the Wheaton web page

5 Step 2 Go to insidewheaton Click Here!

6 Step 3 Make sure you are logged in to insidewheaton

7 Step 4 Under Student Services look for the Student Housing Portal link. Click Here!

8 That will take you here: Make sure this is you Your Name

9 Step 5: Go to complete your housing application Click this Your Name

10 That will take you here

11 Once you have selected the right term (you should only see one) hit the Save & Continue button. That button is how you advance every page throughout this process. Click Here

12 You should now be on your personal details page. Make sure this info is correct, then hit the continue button at the bottom of the page.

13 If this information is not accurate, please contact the Registrar. You can still continue your application either way.

14 You will then come to the housing contract page. - You will need to agree to each section and E sign the document at the bottom using your WID number - IMPORTANT: YOU MUST USE A CAPITAL W when entering your WID number.

15 The next page is the statement and resources for housing accommodations. This is meant as an FYI. The deadline for this has passed.

16 Step 7: Profile Info (this is where you indicate your preferences) Make sure all parts are answered, then continue. You should do this even if you already have a roommate in mind.

17 Step 8: Web Profile (this is your last step for now!) This is what potential roommates see if you do not have people you want to live with yet. If you know who you are living with already you can skip this page.

19 Once you are up to this point and see this page, you are done until you can form roommate groups once lottery times are issued.* *If you are aiming for a single room, you are done until your lottery time becomes available. YOUR NAME

20 You may also see a page that looks like this. This also means you are done until your lottery time slot opens. YOUR NAME

21 For students that already have a room assigned to them - Some students already have a room and do not need to pick one: - RA staff - Theme House Residents - Gebbie and Keefe Residents At this point the system will skip you to the end and ask you to confirm your assignment. Once you do that you are done!

22 Congratulations! You are done until it is time to pick your room or form a roommate group. Lottery times will be released later in April!

23 The rules of lottery: - You must fill any space you take (you cannot go into a double without a roommate). - You must wait until your timeslot opens in order to pick a room. - If you are paired with a roommate and they get a better lottery time, they can use that to pull you, and other roommates into the room they select. - You can access the lottery any time after your slot opens up, and until the lottery closes. - You can only pick a room once. - You have to have an application completed in order to get a lottery time. - You cannot give your lottery time to another person. - Students that are slated to study away cannot form roommate groups, they can only go into single spaces. - You cannot pull people into connected singles through this process. - You can however wait until your friends lower time opens and go in at the same time and pick two that are still open.

24 FAQs Q: When will I get my lottery time? A: Later in the month of April before the week of lottery begins. Q: When is lottery week? A: It begins the last week of April Q: Where do I go if I need help? A: Some open trainings and help sessions will be hosted in the computer lab near the Filene center. Times for those sessions will be in the Residential life office, and ed to students. Q: I am abroad can I still do this? A: Yes, but remember that your lottery time is in EASTERN STANDARD TIME, not your time zone. Q: Can I pick more than once? A: Unfortunately no, once you confirm a space that is yours for the following year. Q: What about lottery numbers? A: Those are gone, everything is now time based with no numbers attached.
