5 Table Leaders Guide Discussion Tips As a Table Leader, your goal is to get the discussions started and keep them flowing, not dominate them. Be respectful of people who are shy, but gently encourage them to join in by asking them a direct question. Betsy, what do you think? Keep the conversation moving you ll only have 5 to 10 minutes after each session for discussion, but remember you ve got all day including long lunch breaks. Keep in mind that people who attend That Church Conference come from just about every church denomination out there. Respect people s different perspectives and theological differences, and focus conversations on how you can improve communications and marketing. If anyone shares something super insightful, write it down and let us know. Ice Breakers Use your time together before sessions and at lunch to get to know each other better. If the conversation is dragging, here s some questions to get it moving again. Where is the best place to eat where you are from? Who would win in a fight, Justin Dean or Van Baird? If you could change one thing about your church, what would it be? Who is the most famous person you ve ever met? Have you ever taken a personality test? What was your result? What is your favorite app (besides social media apps)? What is your biggest communications or marketing struggle? How long have you been in your role at your church?
