1 SCHOOL SCOOP Winter Edition Volume 2 Into the Woods Inside this issue: Into the Woods On January 8th, our school did a theater performance. The show was Into the Woods. It was amazing! I was in it too, I also helped paint scenes. I am not saying that it was amazing just because I was in it. Did you see it? There was a movie and a Broadway show that premiered on November 5,1987. The last show was on September, Some actors in our show were Eric Wagner as The Baker, Loralie Mullins as Little Red Riding Hood, and Julia Willson as The Witch. The 4th and 5th graders were the villagers. The movie is much longer than our play. The movie is more than 2 hours long. Our show was just over an hour. Charles drain signing out. Then, in 1995 at the age of seven he needed a bone marrow transplant, but no Match was found, doctors told his parents that he had gone from 80% of survival to under 5%, so his dad came in and distracted him with magic tricks. After that, in 1998 Mr. Chad was released from the hospital. That same year Mr. Chad's Dad was diagnosed with malignant brain tumor. Mr. Chad dad died on January Mr. Chad's dad dying wish was that he spread around the world magic. Now in 2015 Mr. Chad has a foundation to help kids with cancer, and the wish has come true because he is spreading magic all around hospitals and schools. 3 Chinese New Year Did you know that the Chinese New Year to just passed? It s being held on Monday, February 8th! This year s animal is the Monkey. Below is a chart of your birth animal, just to see if you re interested. Interested yet? If so, here s a website that will give you more information. You ll find your lucky animal, numbers, jobs, colors, flowers, directions, and lunar months! You ll also find your health, career, love, and fortune throughout the year! 6 PB and J club part 2 Hi! It's Gabby here to tell you more about PB and J club, part 2. This time PB and J club is collecting plastic bags and going to crochet them into mats. In the last article I said I was going to sign up and guess what, I DID! That's why I know all this stuff. To help and donate bags, drop off clean plastic bags. There are boxes in the main office, gym, and cafeteria. PB and J club is also collecting peanut butter, jelly, and bread. For those who still want to sign up, there are permission slips outside of Ms. Lubas s classroom. OCTC theater camp In February, OCTC for fifth graders was really fun, we did choreography of the song, Another Opening, Another Show, from the classical musical called Kiss Me Kate. We learned how to act and be creative. There were 30 second fairy tales and monologues. It was a lot of fun! Also, the best part was the name game. Answers for teachers for page 4/5. 1.
