2 IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ ABOUT THE NEW SERIES Guidelines Water World 1. All pins issued with the theme of the series between 1 July 2018 and 30 June 2020 will be eligible for the catalog. 2. If you did not issue the pin yourself and the pin or pins are issued by an individual Lions club or other Lions entity, or a non-pin trader, it is YOUR responsibility to obtain the needed permission to include the pin in the catalog. Consideration of whether the issuer has a sufficient quantity to meet the needs/desires of the pin traders is always an important factor. 3. Monthly updates will be issued if the number of new items is sufficient. Generally, updates will be issued during the last week of a month and the pins included therein are intended to reflect the items that will be available at the next pin swap. 4. Every effort should be made to keep the number of pins in a given set to a maximum of Over the years, the biggest complaint about a series has been a set with a single image and only a color change on each pin. There was a distinct improvement during the Animal & Trains (A&T) Series and we trust that this feature will be completely eradicated in Water World. To that end, we urge that when you are developing sets to please remember that with this advance notice, it is our intent to enforce the rule that if all pins in a set are identical except for a color difference, we will show only one pin and merely list the other participants by name. We did make a couple of exceptions during the A&T Series when it was noted that some sets were ordered well in advance of their introduction in order to take advantage of price breaks for quantity discounts. Once again this advance notice should make those exceptions unnecessary. 6. In selecting the participants in a set, please avoid including non-pin traders or individuals who rarely, if ever, attend the various swaps or conventions. Continued Next Page

3 Water World Guidelines continued 7. There are no objections to cartoon type pins provided they are in good taste and do not violate trade mark and/or copyright provisions. Should there be any questions or objections whatsoever to your using such images, it will be YOUR responsibility to resolve the question. This is a serious matter which could have a significant financial burden on you if you choose to ignore it. 8. In order to maintain a high degree of quality in the production of updates, we will NOT accept pictures of pins or artwork of pins for inclusion in the catalog as a substitute for the actual pin. In this connection, you should be prepared to provide one of each pin you wish to have included in a particular update to PCC Bill Smith, 3643 Osborne Drive, Warrenton VA He will buy or trade for the pins, based on your desires, or if you wish, will return the pins provided you are agreeable to pay the postage for returned pins. 9. Pins which depict items that can be associated with the water will be accepted for this series. However, Water World will NOT include MILITARY ships, boats, or submarines. Those subjects were adequately covered in a previous series. Examples of items that are acceptable are sailboats, all items related to fishing, including fish (sea and fresh water), lures, rods and reels, anchors, buoys, cruise ships, water birds, water falls, and all ocean creatures. If you have any questions whatsoever about the eligibility of the subject of a pin, we urge you to contact PCC Bill Smith prior to ordering your pin.
