Charlie Rauccio Pres. A word from MACC President Another year comes to a close for the MID Alabama Corvette Club. A great year it was too. I would love to take credit for the year it was, but I have to thank Hoke Graham & Jonny Dunn again for the leadership they showed for a big part of the year. V P Dean Rogers, I and the cabinet of officers are planning another big year for MACC. All we ask in return is for our members to attend the events we put together for us to do. MACC is the club to belong to. Like I say many times, MACC is on the move and there is no stopping it. This is the year where ever we go, we go as a big group. One of the things I would like to see this year is when people see us coming to shows, meeting or just on the road, right of the bat they know its MACC. Last year we attended some shows that were hosted by other clubs, cities etc. When we showed up, 20 /30 Corvettes strong, people just stopped and watched us roll in. That s MACC, that s us. We re not part of the show, we are the show. I can go on and on about this club and people in it. It s the members that make this a great club. Let s keep the momentum going. GO MACC Club Pres. Charlie
Dean Rogers VP Hello All MACC Members, I I hope everyone had a great Christmas and shared much love and joy amongst friends and family. Michele and I hope that those same feelings carry through the new year and you also enjoy prosperity as well. Next Big event on the club s horizon is the World of Wheels. We are on track as to the preparations that are needed behind the scenes. So, much yet to do, however a HUGE THANK YOU to all that have committed to helping on each of the days. Look for a MACC ALL that will be out soon with the updated listing of the volunteers so far. We can never have enough volunteers!!!! At the January meeting we will have a meeting afterwards for a short time. We will be discussing the plans that are in place and for any additional input from members. Ladies, please make sure you are there as well. We need your input too. I look forward to all the fun outings that the Social Committee has coming up this new year. Mostly, however, I look forward to the great times with my MACC Family. Let s Have Fun! Go MACC Dean.

From Larry Linley: What a day! What a day! Saturday, November 3, at the Oneonta, Blount County Parade. The parade was a salute to the Blount County Korean War Veterans.( ) What a Day! MACC was represented with eight beautifully shined Corvettes, driven by Hoke Graham, Steve Vaughn, Phil Bailey, Johnny Dunn, Joe Planson, Wayne Allen, Dwain Lawrence, Bobby Conrad and myself. What a day! The sky was blue, no wind, a cool day and plenty, and I mean plenty of sunshine. Suddenly in a distance the sounds of a drum beat and a trumpet were echoing from a distance as if to say, move up, its time for your call to duty. 10 AM, FORWARD as the Calvary was called, as over 2,000 horses moved into formation and answered their call to duty. Turning onto our designated route and being escorted by a young military member marching in perfect cadence with Old Glory waving it s own brilliant colors of RED, WHITE and BLUE, for courage, purity, and loyalty. Moving forward we could see on each side of the street hundreds of patriotic local citizens, seemingly for miles the old, young, black, white, Hispanic waving their own Old Glory in passing and some saluting in honor to each Korean Veteran in passing. Maybe the old Veteran was saying to himself, finally we are remembered from the Forgotten War. What a day! Our duty performed to perfection. We returned our Veterans to the designated rendezvous point. As Mr. Hawkins, at the young age of 86, departed my vehicle, he seemed to be standing a foot taller than when I first met him. What a day, in deed, what a day!
Fun times at the Grayson Valley Country Club
At the 2018 MACC show in Birmingham, Tom McCaleb heard conversation about a 67 in the parking lot, he and Hoke Graham went to check it out, and it was the one he owned many years before!!! A complete story of when this car was born, and how it changed hands several times, including the current owner owning it 3 times, will be in the next edition of Corvette Magazine. The car will be on the cover!! Please see website below.
2019 Caravan, NCM 25th Anniversary Celebration, & Hall of Fame Induction August 28 August 31, 2019 The 25th Anniversary of the NCM is upon us and thousands of corvettes are expected to be in attendance. The caravan portion of the event includes a trek to Bowling Green from all over the country. Upon arrival to the museum, attendees have the opportunity to sit in on the expert seminars and participate in road tours. There s going to be a poker run and to top it all off a live performance by Jefferson Starship with fireworks. This event is only offered once every five years. Thanks, Fred Atkins Anyone interested in this event can visit the link below for registration.
