5 Whatcha Need: To make game squares, gather the following pieces of cardstock or construction paper: 2 sheets of purple paper. Print Start on one sheet and Finish on the other sheet. 6 sheets of yellow paper 9 sheets of green paper 4 sheets of blue paper 4 sheets of red paper 3 sheets of orange paper Note: You may wish to laminate these game squares to make them more durable. You will also need Game Cards (from the Activity Pages on the Web site), a game die, masking tape, Play-Doh, a playing piece for each child (optional), and a Bible for each child bookmarked at Philippians 4:13. Whatcha Do: Make tape loops and tape each game square on the floor in a circular, meandering path. Place Start and Finish next to each other. Mix up the other squares so the colors are not in any particular order. Organize the Game Cards according to color and set each colored stack face down on the floor next to the game board. How Ya Play: 1. Let children select a playing piece (if applicable) and place the pieces on Start. If you re not using game pieces, ask children to remove their shoes and let them be their own game piece by standing or sitting on the game squares. 2. Let the youngest child go first. Play can proceed around the circle to the right. Then let players go in the same order from then on. 3. Players roll the die and move that number of spaces on the game board. Then the player draws the game card on top of the stack that is the same color as the space he landed on. Read the card to the child quietly so the other players can t hear. Guide the child to follow the instructions on the card. Q cards have questions for the player to answer. Do It cards tell the player something to pantomime for other players to guess. Partner Up cards tell the player to do something with a partner of her choice. Play Do cards tell the player something to make from Play-Doh. All Do cards are something for all the players to do, including the player who drew the card. After the action is done, place the card at the bottom of its stack and let play proceed to the next player. 4. Play continues until interest wanes or as players reach Finish. Avoid emphasizing a winner. Everyone who plays the game can win. Be sure to use this game as an opportunity to make life application of today s Bottom Line.
