2 Probability Practice Part I: Identify independent and dependent events. Directions: Determine if the scenarios below represent independent (I) or dependent (D) events. 1) Drawing a two from a deck of cards, setting it aside, then drawing a king. 2) Franco has a bag of candy with 4 candy canes, 6 chocolate bars, and 3 caramel chews. Marcus takes a piece of candy, keeps it, and then passes the bag to Anna. Anna chooses a piece of candy. 3) Choosing an appetizer and an entrée from the dinner menu at Ruby Tuesdays. 4) Rolling a die and the number four landing face up, then rolling the die and the number 3 landing face up. 5) Laura has 8 pairs of shorts. 2 pair a white 3 pair are denim 1 pair is red 2 pair are khaki Laura is packing for a trip and she randomly chooses two pair of shorts without replacement. 6) Michael records the number of times his dog barks and spins a spinner. 7) A jar contains 8 red marbles, 12 blue marbles, and 10 green marbles. Lisa chooses a marble at random, returns the marble to the jar and chooses again. 8) In a BINGO game, the number B11 is called, then the number A3 is called.
