1 29 th WALL OF LOVE PROJECT With the aim of promotion of Bandırma Bird Paradise which is one of the natural beauties of and historical and cultural heritages of Turkey and has Class A diploma of European Council and pointing out the problems experienced due to environmental pollution, Bandırma Bird Paradise International Cultural and Tourism Festival is held each year. The 29th of our festival will be held between 27 and 30 June 2018 this year. In the festivals held in the past, international contributions to the fields of science, art and culture have played an important role in the formation of the city's contemporary identity and cultural and artistic living spaces. The Barış Manço Cultural Centre is one of these places. It is a social living area with its multi-purpose hall, exhibition hall, art workshops, social café where art and culture events are shared. In the multi-purpose hall with 300 seats capacity, 9.5mx3.5m stage, and two backstages, many events such as plays, concerts, panels, interviews and meetings are held and periodical exhibitions are organized in Melih Çınar Exhibition Hall, which has a 70 square meter area, and painting, wood burning, guitar, violin and rhythm courses are given in art workshops. 29. Within the scope of the festival, it is aimed that the wall which is 11 meter long and 2.60 meter high at the lounge of multi-purpose hall of Barış Manço Cultural Centre welcomes the guests with the theme of universal love and underlines the meaning of the centre and the Wall of Love" project was planned. It is aimed to increase the wealth based on love in each aesthetic experience of visitors with the artworks and to live up the contextual wealth and unity of love with the different senses by showing the artworks with the theme of love together, which shall be expressed by the national and international artists on the ceramic surfaces with their individual approach. In this context, as the Organizing Committee of Bandırma Municipality 29th Bandırma Bird Paradise International Cultural and Tourism Festival, we would like to invite you, the ceramic artists, to participate in the Wall of Love project. 2 29 th WALL OF LOVE PROJECT Project Topic: It is the application of love-themed ceramic wall at Barış Manço Culture Centre within the scope of Bandırma Bird Paradise International Cultural and Tourism Festival which will meet our people for the 29th time this year in Bandırma. Aim: Contributing to the improvement of the living spaces directly affecting the visual culture through the beautiful values of love and art, bringing different artistic beauties to Bandırma through our festival Scope, target and conclusion: 1. Measures of the wall in Bandırma Barış Manço Culture Centre to which application will be carried out is 11 X 2.60 meters. A total area of 28.6 m2 will be covered with ceramic panels measuring 30 X 30 cm and including love theme. 2. Each of the original interpretations of the ceramic artists with multiple participation and contribution on the 288 ceramic panels targeted for the love wall will be a unique expression of love theme. 3. The panels will be placed on the wall surface with the order to be selected by the selection committee so that the entire composition is made effective. 4. The Wall of Love will be opened on June 27, 2018 as part of the 29th Bandırma Bird Paradise International Festival program. 5. The panels will be in the Wall of Love catalogue individually and in their arranged form and the catalogue will be delivered to the artists with their participation certificate. Participation: It is open for all ceramic artists from Turkey and abroad. 2

3 Technical specifications for the panels: Participation application: 1. Ceramic work is an unglazed and/or glazed ceramic surface that is shaped by the ceramic materials and techniques preferred by the artist to be placed as part of the Wall of Love and baked in sufficient consolidation. 2. After baking, the measurements should be 30 x 30 cm, the assembly thickness of the parts should be 2 cm and the maximum relief height should be 5 cm if there is relief application. 3. Before baking, the channels should be made on the back surface of the artwork to make it easier to adhere to the wall. 4. The artist s signature, name and place of residence must be placed on the lower right-hand side of the surface of the artwork in such a way that it does not interfere with the expression of the work. - The application for participation will be made by and the application deadline is May 15, Participants may apply with 1 or up to 3 different works according to the technical specification. - Participant and artwork information form and two images of the artworks in.jpg format in resolution of 300 DPI showing the surface and side surface of the artwork must be sent to sedefdeniz@bandirma.bel.tr by . - Photographs should be taken in a neutral environment and no digital intervention should be made. This information and documents are necessary for evaluation of the selection committee and for catalogue at the next stage. - It is necessary to fulfil the information form and photo conditions separately for each work in participation with more than one artwork. - Applicants whose information and documents are incomplete or have passed the deadline of application will not be accepted. - Results of the selection committee evaluation will be reported to the artists on 21 May

4 Submission of artworks for participants whose applications have been accepted: - Via cargo during working hours from May 22 to June 06, 2018: To the address of Barış Manço Kültür Merkezi Bandırma Balıkesir Turkey and with the expression of Wall of Love project. Printed and signed information forms/forms and printed copies of the work photographs in addition to the work or works must be included in the work packaging for traceability. - Artwork cargo transfer fee shall be borne by the sender. - The artworks must be packed in a way that they are not damaged in cargo and must be delivered on time. The organization and the selection committee are not responsible for damages and delays that may arise during cargo. EVALUATION OF ARTWORKS The artworks will be evaluated in terms of compliance with the theme and the technical specifications.
