1 Italian Textile Machinery will be presented at two technological seminars in Pakistan ACIMIT represents an industrial sector comprising roughly 300 companies employing about 13,000 people, which produces machinery for an overall value of 2.3 billion Euros. The quality of the Italian textile technology is testified by the high number of countries where the Italian machinery are sold. Exports represent 79% of total sales. Creativity, technology, reliability and quality are the characteristics that have made Italian machinery products proven leaders throughout the world. The Italian Trade Commission (I.C.E.) and ACIMIT, the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers, will organize two technological seminars along with 8 Italian textile machinery manufacturers. These two events will take place in Karachi and Lahore on 15 th and 17 th March respectively. The following 8 leading Italian manufacturers of textile machinery will present their latest technology developments at the Seminar: COMEZ GESTIONI, CORINO MACCHINE, JAEGGLI MECCANOTESSILE, LORIS BELLINI, MARIO CROSTA, REG- GIANI MACCHINE, ROJ and SIMET. Pakistan as one of the major destination for Italian exports of textile machinery For 2010 Pakistan confirms itself as one of the major destination for Italian exports of textile machinery. In January-October 2010 Italian sales in the Pakistani market totalled a value of Euro 35.5 million (+228% on the same period of the previous year). Among the Asian markets Pakistan is the third one, only behind China and India. Italian sales in Pakistan for the first ten months of 2010 are divided into spinning (44% of the total), finishing (22%), weaving (15%), accessories (13%) and knitting (6%). These technological seminars fall into the many initiatives already carried out as part of the ongoing promotional activities organized by ACIMIT and Italian Institute for Foreign Trade over the years in Pakistan. The promotional activities include training courses organized in Italy for Pakistani textile operators and technological seminars occurring in the Country. I.C.E. 2 ACIMIT and ICE expect record attendance at two technological seminars in Pakistan Pakistan Textile Journal welcomes ACIMIT members to Karachi and Lahore and pleased to present a preview and highlights of the upcoming seminar for the interest of our readers. The Italian Trade Commissioner, Antonio Avallone said, Pakistan is one of the key markets for the Italian textile machinery in all sectors. The latest statistics on the exports of Italian textile machinery to Pakistan are most encouraging. From January to October 2010, textile machinery from Italy worth Euro 35.5 million was imported by Pakistan. This investment is taking place mainly for the up-gradation of the existing capacity, and puts Pakistan after China and India as a major destination of Italian textile Antonio Avallone, ICE Karachi machinery in Asia. The Italian Institute for Foreign Trade (ICE) and ACIMIT, for a number of years have jointly carried out many promotional activities for Pakistan s textile industry. Several training and technical workshops have been held in Pakistan as well as Italy for the benefit of the Pakistani textile industry. The present series of technological seminars is part of this ongoing contribution of Italy to the technological up gradation of Pakistan s textile industry. He added, These eight Italian companies who will be presenting their state of the art technology to Pakistani textile industry are not new to Pakistan. They have participated in many such events in the past and they are among the leading technology supplying partners of Pakistani textile industry for decades. This professional commitment of the Italian textile machinery industry and the Italian Trade Commission toward Pakistan s textile sector will certainly continue in the future. Daudpota from Italian Trade Commission, the seminar specifically features Italian companies manufacturing textile machinery that can help enhance value addition and quality of textile products.
