AML s main geographic market is the United States, with customers in the Middle East, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Europe, Asia, and New Zealand. Customers include Smith and Nephew, the Department of Veterans Affairs, Hanger Clinics, and large US health systems. AML s solutions are targeted at two main international markets: Silhouette for wound care in clinical practice (a $50 billion market in the US alone) and clinical research, where it is used in more than 40 clinical trials; FastSCAN to support orthotics/prosthetics design and manufacture, and other scanning applications. The company s first product, CrutchShock, was developed as a result of owner Marshall Basham s chronic shoulder pain due to constant crutch following a horse riding accident in CrutchShock has been shown to reduce the overall peak shock force and frequency of vibration transferred to the user, which is known to cause pain in humans. The CrutchShock device is now being evaluated by TREAT in New Hampshire. TREAT is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) R24 network of rehabilitation research resource centers. It is a fast process with quick turnaround, ensuring a consistently high level of decontamination for each endoscope. The Footfalls and Heartbeats technology uses the three-dimensional complexity of the textile structure to control the characteristics of the sensor to produce data sets relating to physiological output, limb movement and either tensile or compressive force detection. The technology allows control and manipulation of both yarn-to-yarn interaction and the movement of the micro-mechanical structures to form a robust, repeatable and sensitive sensor network. PictArrays combines innovations in multiplexing and miniaturization technology with simple product design, enabling eight different tests to be simultaneously performed with a drop of blood. The colored end-product is measured using the PictImager, a specially designed reader powered through the USB port of a computer. The image is analyzed using Pictorial, a software which provides results within two minutes of test completion. A maternal infection panel has been commercially launched with additional products for a range of infectious and autoimmune diseases slated for launch in the coming months. The platform provides access to peer and clinical support, video chat, enables remote monitoring, symptom tracking, medication reminders, goal setting and intrinsic rewards. Callaghan Innovation advises businesses on innovation, provides research and technical services to firms and co-funds qualifying R&D carried out by New Zealand businesses through a number of support programs. Medical technologies are a key area of focus for Callaghan Innovation.
