Portugal is one of the most well-known worldwide producers of moulds for plastic injection, exporting 90% of production. Large multinationals (from automotive, electronics / telecoms, home appliances and packaging Industries) are for many years the main Customers for Portuguese moulds, using them for products of its major international Brands. In 2004, the exports reached 335 million euros, from a total production figure of approximately 368 million.
