PRM was established by a select group of experienced professional marine geologists and environmental scientists with extensive corporate and consulting experience to provide a one stop management and consulting service to the minerals exploration industry. 5 Environmental Services RPS has a well established reputation as a specialist environmental consultant; supporting the development of world-class projects in deep offshore waters, coastal waters, estuaries and rivers. RPS offers a comprehensive marine and environmental project management service, from the initial due diligence assessment and baseline sampling design, through to formal environmental impact assessment, environmental baseline studies, the compilation of detailed scientific reports and environmental management plans, environmental supervision, discharge modelling and monitoring. RPS sets the highest technical standards in environmental investigation and onsite management. We deliver cost-effective, best-for-project solutions. This is of critical importance for marine projects, where delays can lead to excess capital expenditure. 5 Sea mining proposal RPS prepared a draft Environmental Management Plan which provided a mechanism for environmental assessment under the Offshore Minerals Act 1994, incorporating the Joint Authority arrangements with NSW. Environmental Constraints and Strategic Advice RPS assessed the potential environmental impacts associated with a coastal estuarine sand mining venture and proposed risk mitigation strategies to assist an application for a seabed mining lease in Western Australia. 6 Oceanographic and Meteorological RPS leading oceanographic and meteorological consultancies provide world class services in support of coastal and ocean engineering and environmental protection with a major focus on physical oceanography, supplemented by strong resources in marine and land-based meteorology. 6 Our capabilities are founded on a large and diverse range of oceanographic and meteorological instrumentation, sophisticated computing facilities and an extensive suite of well-proven software. Nautilus Minerals Project Between 2008 and 2012 RPS provided a range of MetOcean studies for Nautilus Minerals in support of their deep sea mineral mining operations in the Bismarck Sea and offshore Tonga in the South West Pacific.

7 Modelling Seabed Mining Operations RPS excels in the modelling and assessment of fugitive material from seabed mining operations to help our clients understand, manage and mitigate environmental impact. Since 2007 we have been supporting industry leading companies with their environmental impact assessment and environmental management plans. We provide expert guidance coupled with advanced, 3D modelling of hydrodynamics, waves and sediment fates. Our model and analysis framework allows for simulations of seabed mining operations that span many years and include a combination of concurrent sources, such as: day to day operational planning and monitoring. In addition to seabed related operations we also assess the surface operations for potential impacts from: n Ship to ship ore transfers RPS Technology RPS combines leading fate and dispersion models, data analysis and GIS systems to assess the dynamic behaviour of mining discharges as they evolve in time and space. These models are industry recognised and include MUDMAP, CHEMMAP, OOC, Visual Plumes and Delft3D to resolve both near and far-field mixing, transport and deposition zones. The metocean conditions required to drive these models can be drawn from measurements, global databases or customised modelling applications undertaken by RPS. The world leading Environmental Data Server TM (EDS) technology is central to operational use and delivery of our results. The application of advanced postprocessing techniques allows assessment against complex environmental criteria in spatial and temporal contexts, critical to understanding and mitigating environmental impact. 7 n Sea floor mining tools n Stock piling operations n Collection from stockpiles n Return flows n Tailings resuspension. 9 Subsea Services RPS is unique as a provider of near shore consultancy services with expertise developed across the complete spectrum of a range of subsea investigation activity in any geographical location and any geological environment. RPS has over 25 years experience of providing offshore survey and site investigation project management and consultancy utilising its base of more than 800 technical personnel who are experienced in near shore and deep water engineering, geophysics, geology, geotechnics and hydrographic survey. We have a comprehensive understanding of offshore systems which enables us to provide guidance on survey design and equipment selection to deliver optimal results for our clients. Offshore data acquisition, processing, interpretation and reporting are delivered through the provision of our experienced QC services. A strong knowledge of offshore systems allows RPS to provide its clients with best practice and a clear understanding of survey design, appropriate equipment, the provision of QC throughout data acquisition, processing, interpretation and reporting. RPS is currently undertaking a similar project in Namibia. 9 ML154 of PNG for Nautilus Minerals RPS provided on board geotechnical QC during site investigation of ML154 of PNG for Nautilus Minerals.
