2 Overview Regulations and permitting for oil and gas operations in Colorado are constantly evolving. In this course, attendees will learn the latest details about quality compliance and permitting as it applies to their specific, dynamic operations. Attendees will learn about Underground Injection Control permits. They will be able to define Class II waste and understand applicable regulations regarding underground injection wells. The speaker, who is an expert in UIC permitting, will detail the application process. Attendees will leave with handy tips on expediting the process, as well as a guide to the tricks that will not work. The course will also discuss drilling permitting, including: 300 series rules for drilling, development, production and abandonment, Form 2 submittal (Application for Permit to Drill, Deepen, Recomplete, Re-Enter, and Operate), Form 2A submittal (Location Assessment), setback rules, and offset wells. Attendees will gain an understanding of air permitting for upstream oil and gas in Colorado. They will learn how to determine which permits are applicable to their specific projects. The instructor will explain Construction Permits and Title V Operating Permits. She will describe Air Pollution Emission Notices and Subpart OOOO. Denise graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a BS degree in Aerospace Engineering. She has worked for several consulting companies for six years. Since 1996, she has worked for the state of Colorado. She has been with the Department of Public Health and Environment for 13 years- eight years in the Air Pollution Control Division writing emissions permits including four years in the Oil and Gas Unit and four years in the Hazardous Materials and Waste Management Division overseeing the closure of Rocky Flats. She has been with the Department of Natural Resources on the Oil and Gas Conservation Commission staff for the past four years as the Underground Injection Control Program Supervisor overseeing the Class II UIC Program for the State of Colorado. Denise is a licensed professional environmental engineer registered in the State of Colorado. 4

5 Instructional Methods PowerPoint presentations will be used in this program. Requirements for Successful Completion of Program Participants must sign in/out each day and be in attendance for the entirety of the course to be eligible for continuing education credit.
