5 PREVIOUS SPEAKERS Ian Goodfellow, Senior Research Scientist, Google Ian Goodfellow is a Sr. Research Scientist on the Google Brain team. He has invented a variety of deep learning algorithms, most notably generative adversarial networks. Pieter Abbeel, Associate Professor, UC Berkeley Pieter works in ML and robotics, in particular research on making robots learn by watching people (apprenticeship learning) and how to make robots learn through their own trial and error (reinforcement learning). Andrej Karpathy, Research Scientist, OpenAI Andrej is a 5th year PhD student at Stanford, studying Deep Learning and its applications to Computer Vision &NLP. His recent work focused on Image Captioning, RNN Language Models & Reinforcement Learning. Avidan Akerib, VP of the Associative Computing, GSI Technology Avidan holds a PhD from the Weizmann Institute of Science where he developed the theory of associative computing and applications for image processing and graphics. Eli David, CTO, Deep Instinct Eli has published more than twenty papers in leading AI journals mostly focusing on applications of genetic algorithms & neural networks in various real-world domains. Andres Rodriguez, Sr Tech Lead for Deep Learning, Intel Naveen works to bring together engineering disciplines & neural computational paradigms to evolve the state-of-the-art and make machines smarter.

6 PREVIOUS SPEAKERS Toru Nishikawa, CEO, Preferred Networks Preferred Networks was established on March 26th, 2014, as a spin-off company from Preferred Infrastructure, Inc. (PFI), a software development company with expertise in NLP and machine learning. Chris Moody, Data Scientist, Stitch Fix Chris has an avid interest in NLP, has dabbled in deep learning, variational methods, and Gaussian Processes. Brendan Frey, Co-Founder & CEO, Deep Genomics Brendan Frey is internationally recognized as a leader in machine learning and genome biology. His group has published over a dozen papers in Science, Nature and Cell, and their most recent work on using deep learning to identify protein-dna interactions was highlighted on the front cover Nature Biotechnology. Raia Hadsell, Senior Research Scientist, Google DeepMind Raia s thesis on Vision for Mobile Robots won the Best Dissertation award from New York University, and was followed by a post-doc at Carnegie Mellon's Robotics Institute. Raia then worked as a senior scientist and tech manager at SRI International. Raia joined DeepMind in 2014, where she leads a research team studying robot navigation and lifelong learning. Edward Challis, Co-Founder & CEO, re:infer Edward gained his PhD and MSc in AI from the research groups at UCL and Edinburgh. His research has been published in the leading AI journals and conferences including NIPs, AISTATs, Neural Computation, the Journal of Machine Learning Research and NeuroImage. Derek Wise, VP of Engineering, Benevolent.ai Derek is a veteran technology manager who s done everything from top secret cryptographic systems for the US Marines to building and scaling some of the most successful online games on the planet. Derek is currently the VP of Engineering with Benevolent.ai working on brining deep learning to drug
