1 ICETET-11 organised by G.H.Raisoni college of Engineering Nagpur and GHR Labs & Research Center at Mauritius In continuing to earlier three international conferences ICETET-08, ICETET-09, ICETET-10, G.H.Raisoni College of Engineering Nagpur and G.H.R.Labs & Research Center has set a milestone in the history of Nagpur by organizing ICETET-11 (4 th International Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering & Technology) at Mauritius. It was inaugurated on 18 th November 2011 at the auspicious hands of Hon ble Permanent Secretary Mrs Niamala Bhinick Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science, Research & Technology, Government of Mauritius in the gracious presence of Mr.Dharmanand Fokeer, GOSK, Director General, University of Technology Mauritius, His Excellency Mr.Prashant Pise, Deputy High Commissioner, High Commission of India, Mauritius and Dr.K.K.Dhote, Director, Raisoni Group of Institutions. The general chairs of the conference were Dr.Preeti Bajaj-Director GHRCE and Dr.Ajith Abraham-Director MIR Labs USA. ICETET-11 received response from around 12 countries (Hungary, Czech Republic, Japan, Mauritius, UK, Malaysia etc) with 200 research publications in 38 myriad tracks mostly of Systems Man and Cybernetics Society. The renowned academicians and researchers across the globe reviewed these papers and 63 high quality papers were selected for presentation with the acceptance ration of 35%. Within India, papers were received from all corners of the Nation covering various NITs & IITs like VNIT Nagpur, NIT Rourkela, NIT Raipur and IIT Madras, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Roorkee, research organizations and industries. There are 8 technical parallel sessions on Advanced Computing & Intelligent Internet systems, CAD/CAE and Industrial Applications, Computational Intelligence, Modern Drives & Power Systems, Pattern Recognition and Machine Intelligence, VLSI, SoC and Embedded Systems, VLSI, SoC and MEMS, Wireless and Mobile Communications. There were 2 Special Sessions conducted by Kobe University Japan on Human Centered & Intelligent Transportation Engineering and Obuda University, Hungary on Advanced Methods in Model based engineering. In both sessions researchers exhibited output of the work carried on respective nations funded projects.

2 Galaxy of international speakers included Dr. Kevin Warwick, University of Reading, UK, Laszlo Horvath, Professor of virtual engineering systems, Obuda University, Vaclav Snasel, Dr.Koji Murai, Kobe University Japan, Aniko Sazal, Joezef, Rovid Andras and other members of ICETET2011 were prominently present for the occasion. ICETET-11 was technically co-sponsored by IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society, IEEE Region 8, IEEE Bombay Section SMC Chapter, IEEE Hungary SMC Chapter, The Hungarian Fuzzy Association, SMC Chapter UK, IEEE Systems, Man and Cybernetics Society Czechoslovakia. It was supported by SMCS Technical Committee on Soft Computing, SMCS Technical Committee on Human Centered Transportation System, Technical Committee on Knowledge Acquisition in Intelligent Systems. The inaugural programme began with the National Anthem of India and then of Mauritius. Saraswati vandana, enlightening the lamp, Movies on Innovation and IEEE and the ambience of the Le meridian created all together different aura. The welcome address was delivered by Dr.Preeti Bajaj, General Chair ICETET-11. ICETET-11 has provided a platform for the young academicians to exhibit their research work and conveyed to august gathering about having pleasure to host the veteran researchers from all over the globe. She further quoted that ICETET has moved from national to international and ICETET12 will be at Japan. She also quoted that research should not have any boundaries of Institute, state and nation. She appealed the participants to explore all the technical sessions as experiences and perspectives are very much important to the world of science and technology. Guest of honor Mr. Dharmanand Fokeer, GOSK-Director General, University of Technology Mauritius welcomed the dignitaries and authors from various countries. He also said that UTM may join in future endeavors of RGI and ICETET. In his speech, His Excellency Mr.Prashant Pise, Deputy High Commissioner, High Commission of India, Mauritius welcome the participants and appreciated the efforts of GHRCE to host such a wonderful conference which will help to bridge the research collaborations abroad. He narrated about the Mauritius capacity and capability, the business, the relations with India and also congratulated GHRCE. Hon ble Permanent Secretary Mrs Niamala Bhinick Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science, Research & Technology, on behalf of minister apologized for his urgent meeting with PMO. She quoted that there is a need of such conferences dealing with emerging technologies. She said that such conferences would definitely lead to innovations and research collaborations that will help both the countries to solve practical problems being faced by society.

3 The plenary talk was delivered by KEVIN WARWICK, University of Reading, England on Experiments into Biology-Technology Interaction. The invited talk was delivered by Laszlo Horvath, Professor of virtual engineering systems, Obuda University, on Engineer Contribution to Product in Virtual Space. Kevin had discussed about use of implant and electrode technology that can be employed to create biological brains for robots, to enable human enhancement and to diminish the effects of certain neural illnesses. The Movies on live experimentation done on mouse brains, human nervous system on his own by implanting chips wires in his wrist also on his wife s body, connecting brains by connecting nervous systems, communication with remotely placed robot through internet, pc has mesmerized the audience. He quoted he can match thoughts with any robot even with his wife because they are connected through the chip implanted within both s body. He himself operated and implanted these chips at various parts of the body on himself and many of his students of his cybernetics lab. Till now audience has seen animated movies and movies like terminator abut he took them to the world of future generation in which robots will have biological, or part-biological, brains and in which neural implants link the human nervous system bi-directionally with technology and the internet.

4 The second talk was delivered by Dr. Laszlo Horvath, Professor of virtual engineering systems, Obuda University on Engineer Contribution to Product in Virtual Space Presently, he also serves as Vice President of Council of the Applied Informatics Doctoral School, Obuda University. He is senior member of IEEE and chair of the IEEE SMCS Hungary Section Chapter. This talk concentrated on issues of human communication and the related knowledge representation in current and future product modeling. Apart from this there were 8 parallel technical sessions on Advanced Computing & Intelligent Internet systems, CAD/CAE and Industrial Applications, Computational Intelligence, Modern Drives & Power Systems, Pattern Recognition and Machine Intelligence, VLSI, SoC and Embedded Systems, VLSI, SoC and MEMS, Wireless and Mobile Communications. The authors were benefitted by the technical presentations. This shall definitely pave the way for new developments in engineering & technology. Day three also witnessed the technical presentations by researchers in the area of VLSI, SoC & Embedded Systems discussing on A New Approach to Design and Implement Oscillator for Soc Application, Design of Eight Bit Novel Reversible Arithmetic and Logic Unit, A New Architecture for RSA Algorithm Using Vedic Mathematics, and many more topics of interest. Dr. Koji Murai, Co-chair of a technical committee on Human Centered Transportation system attracted the gathering. Dr. Koji Murai is Professor at Kobe University, Japan. He delivered talk on Evaluation of a Navigator s Skill Based on Physiological Index Case Study of a Student Simulator Training. In his talk he mentioned about a navigator guides a ship for safe an efficient navigation, and navigator gets navigational information through the five senses. Another prominent feature of ICETET-11 was special session on Advanced Methods in Model Based Engineering by László Horváth. He talked on A New Adaptive Process for Product Model Object Definition. ICETET-11 concluded with the announcement of ICETET-12 at Japan along with Kobe University, Japan. First Time in the history of Central India, such event has been organized wherein any research group has moved out of country and invited researchers from all domains to exhibit the work at such a place wherein research and fun both can be enjoyed. Those who have put in

5 untiring efforts since last one year to happen this event are Dr. Amol Deshmukh, Dr Santosh Jaju, Kantilal Joshi, and many others. Such event wouldn t have been possible without support by Hon Chairman Shri Sunilji Raisoni and Hon Mrs. Shobhaji Raisoni, and management.
