2 1/ Dissemination plan The dissemination activities of the SMARTCat project will aim at: Sharing the knowledge created by SMARTCat beyond the implicated partners to a wider community for potential use of project results taking into account the protection of IP. Informing the scientific and industrial community as well as a broader public about the latest project results and findings. Creating awareness in the general public with respect to environmental problems and the role fuel cell could play in the future. Dissemination tools and activities: Dissemination will be carried out and monitored through a number of planned activities and tools adapted to the target audience, after agreement of the consortium: Project web-site The project website has made available within the first year (Deliverable 6.1) of the project and is updated on a regular basis. It contains a summary of the project as well as calendar of events, contact points, press releases, published presentations etc. The project website is mainly directed to i) the scientific community to raise interest on the research topic and to create a contact tool to facilitate the collaboration with external scientists ii) the funding bodies as the website will become one of the tools to keep them updated on the project status iii) the general public to create awareness on fuel cells. The project web-site will be created and maintained by the CNRS.

4 Scientific publications At 29/01/2016, 8 international peer reviewed article have been published, 2 are Open acces. These articles are fully or partly reporting on SMARTCat results. Every time a result is obtained in SMARTcat project and described in an article, the FCH-JU is systematically thanked using the FCH-JU proposed wording in the acknowledgement section of the article, even if the article is not fully devoted to the SMARTCat results. By this way publicizing the support of FCH-JU is maximized. Journals that have been addressed are: Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics (2 open access), Electrochimica acta (1), Applied Catalysis B (1), Plasma Processes and Polymers (1), ACS Applied Interfaces and Materials (1), Catalysis Today(1), Mater. Res. Soc. Symp. Proc.(1). So there were 8 articles mentioning support of FCH-JU for SMARTcat projects. Targeted journals for period M30 to M48 are Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, Applied Catalysis B, Plasma Processes and Polymers, Fuel Cells, J. Power Sources, Electrochimica acta for expected 8 articles. European Workshop on PEMFC for automotive applications The consortium will host an European Workshop on PEMFC for automotive applications at the project month 42. At date of 29/01/2016, P. Brault (Coordinator SMARTCat) and D. Jones (Coordinator, CATAPULT) will co-chair the Workshop that will be held in Orléans. Co-organisation (invitations, scientific sessions, round tables with car companies, social program,..) with other automotive ongoing FCU-JU project coordinators is in progress. Representative of car companies involved in the industrial grouping Hydrogen Europe. Conference, seminars and workshops At 29/01/2016, 21 Communication have been presented, mainly oral and 3 invited talk related to WP2 and WP3. Attended conferences were: GEC, EUROMAT, ECS Meetings, IDHEA, Cluster 2014, JESS, Material Research Society, CAMD, ICCP-9, International Fuel Cell Workshop, EFCD, EERA-JP2 meeting. Attending conference outside Europe is only chosen when the Fuel Cell European research community is concerned and present to significant extend. Targeted conferences for the period M30-M48 are: ISE August, The Hague, The Netherlands (67th Annual Meeting ) ECS May 29-June 3, 2016 San Diego, CA IDHEA May 2016 Nantes, France, to be confirmed PSE2016, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Sept FDFC 2017, Karlsruhe (October 2016), to be confirmed Press-releases Press releases of important events will be organised. This is planned for the SMARTCat European Workshop M42 for which National and local news magazines will be contacted. Flyers, brochures and posters Flyers, brochures, posters and other outreach material will be created and distributed to collaborators and others on suitable occasions such as meetings, congresses, workshops etc.

5 . This is planned for the M42 SMARTCat European Workshop. This also intended for disseminating the SMARTCat results to a wide audience after the project has been terminated. 2/ Exploitation Plan The exploitation of the results by the SMARTCat consortium as a whole Organisation of the European Workshop on PEMFC for automotive applications will be the starting event dealing with intensive contact with potential industrial partners. As it is expected to have a convincing SMARTCat demonstrator clearly showing attractive performances for automotive applications at M40, this event will be the good place for presenting it. Targeted car companies are: Daimler, Volvo, BMW, VW, SymbioFCell which are already involved in projects where CEA partner is also present. This will help in organizing meetings for promoting our demonstrator. Also Nissan-Europe and Toyota Europe as members of Hydrogen Europe will be contacted too. Beyound automotive applications, the SMARTCat approach is of interest for stationary systems. Thus Inhouse, Areva SE, Netstack and IRD fuel cell will be contacted for showing the demonstrator and discussing about scalability of our MEA and fuel cell concepts. This will be done beginning of Regarding materials and innovation in the field, individual partners will be most effective in contacting companies for discussing upscaling process and fabrication. Individual Partner Exploitation Plans For academic partners the main exploitation of results deals with scientific reputation in the field. A patent held by the WP2, WP3, WP4 should be planned for submission before end of the project. CNRS GREMI- IC2MP GREMI and IC2MP are gaining a world leading position in fuel cell catalysts and electrode fabrication through the possibility for industrials to use our chemical and plasma sputtering technologies. Johnson-Mattey, Solvicore and Umicore will be the preferred companies to contact. SINTEF For SINTEF the developments and gain in knowledge will increase their potential for further cooperation with industry and participation in new projects. Actual progress allows to think about patenting. FSP technology is attractive for industrial companies due to its high potential of scalability. Johnson-Mattey, Solvicore and Umicore will be the preferred companies to contact. DTU The contribution of DTU on the simulation prediction capabilities inside the project will allow to include a discussion with companies the ways of computational design. This will allow cost reduction in building strategies of combinatorial computational chemistry, as it is expected by the use of cellular automat techniques. Mxpolymers The potential of technological development of PYPO membrane as expected to be more durable than PBI, will leads to a high possibility of patenting during the project. Targeted companies for licensing and commercialization could be Solvay and Arkema. CEA CEA has a great experience in creating startup and spinoff SME. A startup proposing MEA using the pilot scale equipment of CEA in Tours, would a good output of the project for the partner. Discussion on this will be planned early in 2017 with Johnson Mattey for example and/or Solvicore. Potential of the pilot to integrate plasma technology in AME fabrication will be discussed with CNRS.
