SHELL - MALAYSIA Jun 2014 Oct 2014 Front End Well Planning Engineer (Consultant) Yinggehai LD8-1-7 Shallow-water HPHT Wildcat Well, Offshore China Lead well design engineer for this shallow water HPHT wildcat well in Yinggehai basin, offshore China. Performed detailed tubular stress analysis and thermal modelling using WellCat software. Designed mandatory load cases as per Shell Casing and Tubing Design Manual (CTDM) and sensitivity load cases to ensure design robustness whilst fulfilling well objectives. Performed tubular stress analysis in WellCat software Designed mandatory load cases as per Shell policy and sensitivity load cases to define well operating envelope, wrote detailed casing design report. Key well planning challenges included well trajectory selection to avoid shallow gas chimney hazard above primary target, sour service tubular selection to sustain corrosion due to high H 2S (~ 3500ppm) and CO 2 (up to 10mol%) levels in the reservoir and PMCD operations planning to mitigate severe/total losses anticipated in the carbonate reservoir. Successful implementation of PMCD procedures on ENSCO-8504 after encountering total losses at the top of carbonate reservoir. Integrated PMCD riser package with Below Tension Ring-Subsea (BTR-S) feature was planned and deployed for the first time on DW semi-sub in Malaysia. Apache Energy (Australia): Worked as HPHT well engineer on semi-submersible rig (Ocean America) to provide HPHT well engineering services to the rig team while drilling two HPHT exploration wells (Olympus- 1 and Bianchi-1) located in offshore West Australia. Key deliverables were HPHT training to rig crew, HPHT fingerprinting, BHP management, QA/QC of real time PPFG data, Swab-Surge & Bottomhole temperature (BHST & BHCT) simulations in Presmod software and monitoring of wellbore ballooning behaviour. Key design challenges included high pore pressure ramp, narrow PPFG margin, high annulus pressure buildup (APB) due to thermal expansion of fluids in B and C annuli during well test flow operations. Cairn India Ltd (India): Performed detailed casing & tubing design in WellCat for Nagayalanka-SEA, onshore HPHT well in India, and the well was designed for drilling, hydraulic fracturing and production operations. Cairn India (Sri Lanka): Conducted 3 rd party assurance review of casing and tubing design performed in WellCat by Halliburton for Dorado-B, DW exploration well located in offshore Sri Lanka. Also performed Burst Disc design calculations for intermediate and production casing strings to mitigate casing failures due to Annulus Fluid Expansion (AFE) in various inaccessible annuli during well test or production phase. Woodside Energy (Australia): Prepared a comprehensive Blowout Contingency Planning (BOCP) checklist to ensure blowout emergency preparedness are completed during the well design phase and also guide the well planning team on critical well information to formulate immediate response actions in the event of actual blowout in offshore Australia. Geodynamics Ltd (Australia): Conducted 3 rd party assurance review of casing and tubing design performed in WellCat by Blade Energy for Habanero-4, an onshore geothermal well located in Cooper basin, Australia. Also reviewed the material selection criteria to sustain sour service conditions as per NACE SSC Region-3. Talisman Energy (Malaysia): Performed detailed casing and tubing design in WellCat for two deepwater wells (1 x HPHT and 1 x non-hpht) in offshore Sabah, Malaysia. Sasol/Prime Energy (South Africa): Conducted offset wells review and detailed drilling risk assessment using project risk register for Macau-1, near HPHT exploration well located in offshore Mozambique. 5 Keppel FELS Shipyard (Singapore): Reviewed Basis of Design (BOD) requirements to define rig systems and rig equipment for designing an ice resistant fixed platform at Keppel-FELS Shipyard for safe drilling/workover operations by LUKOIL under Arctic conditions. PetroSA (South Africa): Performed well integrity and anti-collision risk assessments using Bow-Tie XP for an offshore shallow water platform well in South Africa. RELIANCE INDUSTRIES LTD (E&P) INDIA May 2009 Feb 2010 Drilling Engineer Performance Prepared a database of past drilling performance and NPT data of all exploration wells drilled in KG-D6 field to establish performance benchmark based on well types and rig types. Monitored drilling performance and conducted NPT analysis for rig and third party equipment against benchmark data for ongoing wells. Involved in optimizing the time and sequence utilization of existing deepwater rigs (DW Frontier and DW Expedition) and upcoming new-built dual activity rigs (DD-KG1, DD-KG2 and DID) for efficient drilling, lower and upper completion operations as per KG-D6 field development plan. Involved in the upgradation of subsea BOP stack on Deepwater Frontier rig to perform both Drilling and Completion operations without any major changes on the BOP stack and ram configurations.
