2 Computer to Flexo COMPUTER TO FLEXO PLATE / SLEEVE The superior print quality of CtP flexo brought about the success of Flexo Lasersetters in the last years. No other plate production technology can guarantee the same performance on a printing press. Digital flexo plates are covered with a carbon layer and do not need film. The elimination of film, chemicals and relevant equipment gives much better process stability. Dirt and dust problems are a thing of the past. COMMITMENT TO FLEXO The Lasersetter is a dedicated development for flexo applications. Sleeve and plate handling are optimized to low waste and high productivity. The open network interface accepts TIFF data from any standard RIP-Program or Server. PixFlow-RIP and PixFlow-Workflow take the special needs of label and packaging production into consideration. 3 Quality and Productivity PREMIUM FIBER-LASER The Flexo Lasersetter family is designed to achieve highest quality output at low costs. Fiber-Laser technology is used in the Flexo Lasersetters for ablation of the carbon layer for digital flexo plates. FlexoLaser has the most experience with this technology. The maintenance-free design of Fiber-Lasers means low service costs, long lifetime, reliability and continuous production. If there is a need to use smaller plates it can be done easily. On request custom-made formats can be delivered. Waste of material is minimized and throughput is maximized. QUICKSLEEVE Productivity of sleeve systems depend on the ablation speed and the changeover time. The patentpending QuickSleeve design has a semi-automatic function allowing one person to change a sleeve in one minute without tools. HYBRID FLEXO LASERSETTERS Hybrid versions are available for combined production of plates and sleeves. The change from plate to sleeve production (or vice versa) just takes a few minutes. BROAD FORMAT RANGE No format problems with Flexo Lasersetters any more. FL piccolo for label and narrow web applications, FL medio for medium format flexo plate production and FL largo / Xlargo for plate formats up to 2.1 m (80 ). 4 Upgrading UPGRADING FlexoLaser offer flexible solutions to the customer. Due to its modular structure Flexo Lasersetters can be modified to customer requirements. For instance if more throughput is needed, lasers with more power can be implemented to increase the productivity. MULTIPLATE MultiPlate software controls the output to the Flexo Lasersetter. It can be installed anywhere in the network on Mac or PC workstations. It accepts 1 bit TIFF data coming from any RIP to output it to the Flexo Lasersetters. MultiPlate software can be used to fill the plate with different jobs and to optimize the coverage of the plate. Today plate tomorrow Sleeve, no problem. FL medio and FL largo/xlargo can be changed over from plate to sleeve production at minimum costs. Even changing to other Laser Technologies e.g. for direct engraving can be done. Flexo Lasersetters are designed to offer open architecture and future oriented CtP concepts. REMOTE DIAGNOSTIC Flexo Lasersetters will be directly installed in the local area network. The user-friendly panel gives the operator all necessary information for the plate in question. Remote diagnostics reduce the need for service visits. The Flexo Lasersetter family offers state-of-the-art technology at low cost of ownership.

5 Workflow Solutions PIXFLOW We see our Lasersetters as a component of a process chain. The creation and administration of data is most important. PixFlow launches the first stage of FlexoLaser s overall workflow strategy. FlexoLaser software solutions will connect prepress with creative multimedia, press and post-press workflows-as well as adjacent business processes such as job planning and customer service. Until now, prepress workflows have been proprietary. Only standard-based, multi-vendor solutions will realize the promise of cross-domain workflows and encompass the entire life cycle of publishing projects. WORKFLOW MANAGEMENT A whole new way to manage your work PixFlow is a scalable and flexible workflow-management system, accessible via a web browser-based interface. It uses a Job Ticket to direct Jobs (PDF or PostScript files) through a user-defined workflow. A Job Ticket is a description of the processes the job must go through. The Job Ticket is unique to the Job and can be modified at any time during the process. Available modules are: RIP-Server, Imposition, OPI and several control and communication modules. All tasks, from RIP administration and configuration to setting calibrations and monitoring the spooler can be done from any client on the network. PixFlow RIP- Server allows full job control on input and full job and page control on output, including deleting, moving, pausing, resubmitting, and changing the priority of jobs. STRONG PREVIEW Spotting problems before output saves both time and money. The PixFlow RIP-Viewer application offers post- RIP previews of jobs, allowing to view jobs in a composite view or plate-by-plate. The unique PDF Preview option allows to RIP to a specially formatted PDF file, which also offers both composite and plate views of RIP output. PDF preview files can be viewed on any platform, using the free Adobe Acrobat Reader application, and can be shared easily on the World Wide Web. RIP-SERVER PixFlow RIP-Server is fully configurable through Flexo- Lasers s easy-to-use, cross-platform, Java -based graphical user interface.
