2 WHAT IS COLOR-LOGIC SOFTWARE Color-Logic is the premiere commercially available color communication system for metallic substrates which takes into account the substrate, inks, press curves and coatings. The Color-Logic system provides a color communication system for 250 additional metallic colors, which in turn can produce eye-catching decorative effects. The system is ideal for the Océ Arizona Large Format Printers with applications such as; cartons & packaging, pouches, direct mail, POP display, signage, post cards, literature, booklets, labels, shrink sleeves, flexible packaging, business cards, calendars and swing tags. 3 CREATE MORE WOW WITH OCÉ ARIZONA Océ Arizona series flatbed printers offer breakthrough performance that deliver - no compromise printing for a large variety of applications ranging from rigid glass panels to raised dimensional images and braille. Now with adding Color-Logic special effects software, we have again increased the number of applications these printers are capable of. The Océ Arizona printers are known for their bright white inks that are ideal for under or over-printing. Users can print white as a spot color or as a flood layer. Most importantly, users can decide to print multiple layers of white/color simultaneously on the flatbed or on the Roll Media Option using one, two, or three layers of ink in total. Having high-quality white inks drastically enhances the print effects created with Color-Logic software - producing that extra sparkly WOW factor you and your customer have been striving for! Every Océ Arizona model uses UV curable inks and Océ VariaDot variable-sized droplet imaging technology to deliver finer details and smoother gradients creating near-photographic image quality. Additionally every printer is built on a true flatbed architecture to print on almost any rigid media or object, and most feature an optional Roll Media Option for printing onto flexible materials as well. 4 HOW IT WORKS STEP 1: To start, simply install the plugs-ins into Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and within minutes you can start designing. STEP 2: The PRINTER must output the Print Certification Test forms and Swatch Book, creating a press proof. The test forms demonstrate all the effects possible using the system. Provide these to your design teams for reference of capabilities. STEP 3: Start designing and creating effects - use your designs as creative examples of the type of special effects you can make. STEP 4: Save to PDF and visualize in the FX-Viewer - The FX-Viewer is a virtual 3D environment used to see the actual design on-screen. This helps remove the cost associated with multiple iterations of proofing. (FX-Viewer application is for MAC only.) STEP 5: Output your design for white ink printing - Generate white ink plates: The Process Metallic Color System creates an effect printing plate, You NEVER have to make a white ink mask! - Minimum system requirements (not included): Color-Logic s Color Palettes and Plugins are compatible with Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, versions CS6 upwards, on both MAC and Windows platforms KEY SPECIAL EFFECTS Dimensional-FX TM This effect is used to make a selective area of artwork appear to change color and dimension, from a lighter to a darker hue as light reflects from the design. Notice how when light reflects off the printed design, the pattern turns from a dark green to a light green! This effect is an ideal way to make messages and areas stand out within the print with added dimension. Gradation-FX TM A unique feature of the Process Metallic Color System is the ability to vignette one metallic color into another or even vignette metallic hues into process colors.. Simply create your gradient in the usual way using the Color-Logic metallic color palettes! In this design, the gradation transitions from gold in to red.

5 KEY SPECIAL EFFECTS Watermark-FX TM This effect can be used to make a selective area of artwork seem to appear and disappear or achieve a subtle watermark effect within a metallic area. This technique is an ideal way to hide patterns in a subliminal way. Watermark-FX Plus TM An additional defense against counterfeiting! Add subliminal patterns, wording or even complex guilloches to non metallic areas of your artwork using the Watermark-FX PLUS technique. This technique is an ideal way to hide patterns and messages in a subliminal way. In this design is a security sticker, with subtle Watermark-FX Plus wording in the background. Image-FX TM A photorealistic image separation algorithm which analyzes images and calculates the required metallic effect for the different tonal regions of the image. The Color-Logic Plug-in for Adobe Photoshop automatically creates the fifth spot channel, helping to eliminate the hit-and-miss approach to integrating metallics in the image. 250 Metallic Colors To ensure a repeatable and color accurate metallic color system for your customers, you can print from any of your Océ Arizona printers that have white ink. Print your own Color-Logic Swatch Book (or Color Charts), showing a range of 250 beautiful, fully chromatic metallic colors.
