2 Using s Guides Slide the - with the raised edges facing down - half way into the channel on the underside of the track piece. Now slide the adjoining track piece over the open half of the joiner, so that it meets the first piece. Be sure the tracks meet with no gaps. Making s Put two loop halves together so that the pins at the top of each loop half go into the proper holes, creating a tight fitting seam between the two loop halves. Holding the loop halves together, slide one loop joiner over one end of the seam and the other loop joiner over the other end of the seam. *IMPORTANT: Make all 8 s in this set before building the track. Small Baseplates ATTACHING LOOPS & TRACKS TO SMALL BASEPLATES: Each small baseplate has 2 built-in track joiners for joining loops and track pieces together. Slide the end of the loop onto the built-in track joiner on the small baseplate. Then slide the other end of the loop onto the adjacent track joiner on the small baseplate. The loop should now be attached to the baseplate. There should be 2 open ends to attach track pieces to the loops. Joiner Completed Raised edges face down Joiners Built-in Notches Pins Halves Tabs Completed loop on small baseplate ATTACHING SMALL BASEPLATES TO EACH OTHER: Small basplates have notches on one of the sides and on the other side have tabs to fit the notches. To join small baseplates, line up two baseplates so that the notches of one are lined up with the tabs on the other one. Lift the side with the notches up and slide the them onto the tabs in the other baseplate. The two baseplates should meet up exactly and be completely flat when connected. 3 STEP 1- Start building the track. FIGURE 1 s s 7" Straight Twin Starting Unit 7" Straight Using (8) s, (4) 7" Straight s, (2) s and the Twin Starting Unit create the track shown above. STEP 2 - Add 2 s & 4 Small Baseplates. FIGURE 2 2 small baseplates joined together 2 small baseplates joined together Attach a to each open 7" Straight, using the. Attach the other end of each to the first built-in track joiner on a small baseplate, as shown above. Join 1 Small Baseplate to each of the Baseplates that a is attached to. STEP 3 - Add 2 more s. FIGURE 3 Build 2 more s, and attach them to the Small Baseplates, as shown above. PAGE 3

4 STEP 4 - Add 2 more s. FIGURE 4 Build 2 more s and attach them to the loops joined in Step 3, using the built-in track joiner on the Small Baseplate. The other end of the s should be attached to the second built-in track joiner on the inner most Small Baseplate. There will be one open built-in track joiner on the Small Baseplate. Open joiner on inner most small baseplate STEP 5 - Add the Cross and 2 s. FIGURE 5 Cross Locate the Cross and attach it to the open ends of the s using the built-in track joiners on the Small Baseplate, as shown above. Slide s into each of the open ends of the Cross. STEP 6 - Add 2 Straight s and 2 s. FIGURE 6 7" Straight s Attach one 7" Straight, using the s, to each of the open ends of the Cross. Slide s into the other end of each of the 7" Straight, as shown in Figure 6. PAGE 4

5 STEP 7- Add 2 s, 2 Curve s, Y-, 5 s & Launch. FIGURE 7 Joiners Curve s Y- Launch Build the two remaining s and attach each of them to the open ends of the 7" Straight s attached in Step 6. Locate the Curved s and attach each of them to the s using s. The Curved s should be curving toward the inside of the track, as shown in Figure 7. Connect the Y- to the Curved s using 2 s. Using a connect the Launch to the open end of the Y-. STEP 8 - Get set, go! Press down on car body until you hear a click. While still pressing down,roll car back & forth until the clicking sound gets louder. Once each car is wound, roll it backwards into the Twin Starting Unit until the rear wheels line up with the button on the top of the Twin Starting Unit. Pull up on the button to hold the car in place. When both cars are in place, pushing down on the buttons starts the race. Buttons Tips Be sure that the car is fully wound by listening for the click to get louder before securing it in the Start Box. Have fun with your Darda cars on or off the Darda track. To use the cars without the Start Box, simply follow Steps 1 & 2 and let the car go. For longer life do not run cars on carpet. Replacement motors are available at your local specialty toy store; or contact Darda at the address on page 1 of these instructions. PAGE 5

If your car has trouble making it around the track at first try the following: 1. Be sure that all track seams meet and connections are secure. pieces must meet flush against each other where they are connected with track and loop joiners, without gaps or bumps at the joints. 2. It may be necessary to play with, adjust, or slightly bend loops in track layouts to maximize performance. Remember Darda is flexible. Darda track layouts can be set up on any flat surface. While it is not ideal, your track can be set up on carpet. We do recommend dusting off the track before use so that dust particles from the carpet do not jam the motor in your car. We do not recommend running the car itself on carpet. Double check your assembly instructions, if you still have difficulty we want to help!
