IMA GROUP IMA GROUP TOP NATIONAL MANUFACTURER ANDEXPORTER IMA is a company founded in 1961 and associated with the woodworkers trade. It is the top national manufacturer, with a production capacity of 1,000,000 m2 per year. Much of its production exports to neighbouring countries in which they are to meet the most stringent quality standards. IMA manufactures its wood flooring using the latest technology. Its wide range of manufactured products covers an extensive range of different wood species, some with varying qualities and varying distributions in the module. Traditional varnishes based on organic solvents have their days numbered. Most of these products are available in 1:1 formulas (50% solvent, 50% of varnish coating); that is, during the setting of the product, an amount of the product being released into the atmosphere is equivalent to the amount left on the wood. We are polluting the atmosphere, and what is worse we are putting our health at risk. In nearly all developed countries, regulations which limit or prohibit the use of these coatings are being established. The OPTIMAX CERAMIC Varnish, in addition to its superb resistance properties, is completely safe to use given that it uses water as a solvent, it is fireproof and it is environmentally friendly. BECAUSE OF ITS EXTENSIVE NETWORK, YOU WILL FIND QUALIFIED INSTALLERS AND DISTRIBUTORS OF IMA LAMINATE FLOORING IN EVERY COMMUNITY OF SPAIN

IMA GROUP IMA GROUP ENVIRONMENTALLY BRING FRIENDLY MA has long been one of the leading companies of its sector in Spain. It has been a leading company because of its turnover and size, but it has also been a leading company because of its firm commitment to combining cutting edge technology with a maximum respect for the environment. This ecological concern has meant that the origin of the wood itself is very important for IMA. It has been so important that, for years, management staff of the companies decided that it would be wise to personally go to Brazil to see firsthand the logging situation of the country. IMA wanted and continues to want to assist in the transformation of that reality in the best way possible, and they were committed to always be one step beyond what is expected of a modern and responsible company. For IMA, the environment is not an excuse or a burden. For IMA, the environment, the respect and care for our surroundings and social responsibility comprise our absolutely inalienable principles. Since then, working in collaboration with the Brazilian government, IMA put forth all of its efforts and applied the sum of the talents of all of its professionals to implement a revolution of sorts in how to confront the exploitation of timber. The objective is two-fold: Ensure the ecologically sustainable forestry use of Amazonian forests by keeping a strict inventory of the trees and by the control and limitation of logging. Ensure the social development of affected indigenous people by way of specific intervention programs and infrastructure construction. This radical transformation began not only with the application of stringent legal legislation on controlled logging, which was undertaken by IMA from the outset and in an exemplary manner, but also with the implementation of community public works of great social significance, such as vocational schools. All these are initiatives by which IMA believes that it can contribute to ensure a better future for the Amazon communities, through better education and care for the younger generations. And, of course, raising awareness in the overall Brazilian population of the fundamental importance of conserving the Amazon rainforest. In this way, with the support of the Brazilian government and non-governmental organizations such as Greenpeace, the people of Brazil are becoming aware that the Amazon, in addition to being its major source of wealth, is also imperative for all mankind. Through measures such as those applied by IMA and the Brazilian government, the Amazon forests, along with its trees and timber, may be the best opportunity for advancement for the natives who inhabit them. This is tangible proof that businesses and governments can offer real solutions to major poakms. BECAUSE TAKING BETTER CARE OF OUR PLANET DOES LIE IN OUR HANDS

Because wood fits all purposes, designs and installation systems. Because wood is a natural material. Every board in an installation is unique and irreproducible. Because wood is a comfortable material. Due to its structure, wood is an excellent heat and sound insulator, which is conducive to both comfort and energy savings. Because wood is a healthy material. It does not cause allergic reactions and is antistatic, which makes it suitable for eg industrial flooring. Because wood is an environmentally friendly material. Wood is harvested from nature. It undergoes little transformation and few products are added to it. If forests are properly managed, their renewal is guaranteed. Because they are durable floors, which age well and become more natural-looking and even more beautiful as time goes by. Their natural beauty can be restored just by lightly sanding and varnishing. Because they are independent from trends. A wooden floor is always trendy. Because they are easy and quick to install since the Slats are factory-varnished finished products. Laminate floors are installed using simple tools and four or five faster than traditional laminate flooring. The planks do not need to be glued. It is not necessary to wait for varnish to dry. It is not necessary to wait for the adhesive between layers to cure. Because it does not give any poakms. The only things that laminate floors require are a flat surface and a lack of moisture. Varnishing operations will not be poakmatic either. Since the Slats are factory-varnished, quality and uniformity are guaranteed. Their installation does not come into conflict with other trades. Because of its behaviour once it is installed. Laminate floors are not restricted. Thanks to the expansion joint which is left around the perimeter of rooms, laminate floors can expand or contract according to the normal fluctuations of the relative ambient humidity, thus acting a single unit and preventing the appearance of ugly defects or lifting between the boards.

WOOD FLOORING On the other hand, laminate floors are usually installed on top of a 1-3mm-thick layer of polyethylene foam or felt which, in addition to contributing to the heat and sound insulation of the installation, serves as a cushion against impacts and creates a sense of comfort when walking on them. By means of the rational use of wood. Conifer wood (base layer and strips) and wood from temperate and tropical hardwood trees (top layer) are used in the manufacture of the laminate flooring. The latter wood is rarer but sturdier and has a greater decorative value. Laminate flooring is the type of flooring which gets the most out of the same amount of wood. By way of example, two laminate flooring planks can be obtained for every one parquetry block (usually 10mm-thick). Hence, we have obtained twice as much product from the same amount of wood. In the case of the typical 23mm-thick parquet flooring, we could obtain up to 4 laminate floor planks for every parquetry block. By means of it is easy to replace. Laminate floors do not need to be sanded down. After a long period of use, if the state of the varnish requires applying a new layer, it will be enough to lightly sand the top layer to remove the original varnish and revarnish it with any commercial-of-the-self product. Individual elements are easy and quick to replace. Because of the ease of maintenance. As we will see, maintenance of a laminate floor only requires wiping it with a dry piece of cloth or hoovering it on a daily basis and removing any spots with a moist cloth. BECAUSE OF ITS WATER-BASED VARNISH FINISH: OPTIMAX-CERAMIC The days of traditional organic solvent-based varnishes are numbered. Most of these products are come in 1:1 (50% solvent, 50% varnish) formulations, ie during curing an amount of product equal by weight to that which remains on the wood is being released into the air. Thus, we are polluting the air and, what is even worse, we are endangering our health. Most developed countries are passing regulations which restrict or forbid the use of these varnishes. In addition to its superb resistance properties, the OPTIMAX-CERAMIC varnish is completely harmless because water is used as the solvent. Moreover, it is fireproof. BECAUSE OF ITS WIDE NETWORK OF DISTRIBUTORS AND INSTALLERS You will find qualified IMA Laminate Flooring distributors and installers in all Spanish autonomous communities.

In Spain mainly along the North Coast, in the Pyrenees and in Northern Catalonia. The heartwood and the sapwood look exactly the same and the wood colour ranges from a yellowish/pinkish white to a clear red. It has a fine grain, a uniform structure and straight fibres. It has a density of 700 kg/m3 (12% moisture content). It has a 12-13% tangential shrinkage and a 6-7% radial shrinkage. It is easily machined (turning, dressing, bending, etc.). However, it is an unstable wood given its high degree of shrinkage. It can be varnished without having to apply a filler. It readily admits dyes, so it can be used for imitating precious woods thanks to its clear colour. It is easily sanded and it lacks cross-graining since it is straight-grained. It will not split when nailed or screwed. It is usually steamed at ºC for 1 to 2 hours to speed up its drying, after which it takes on a pinkish or reddish tone and its stability increases. It is not weather-resistant but it can be waterproofed. It is commonly used to make furniture, mouldings and friezes and in indoor carpentry. It is also used to make household objects and toys. As regards wooden flooring, is used in traditional and floating laminate flooring. 21 WOOD FLOORING» LAMINATE» SUCUPIRA SUCUPIRA This hardwood is found in the South American tropics. The colour of the wood ranges from dark brown to reddish brown. The sapwood is white-grey or white-yellow in colour. It might show fine, lighter coloured veins. The sapwood is clearly visible. In round wood it has a thickness ranging from 1 to 2cm. The wood is heavy (940 kg/m3 with a 15% moisture content). Its fibre can be either straight or interlocked. The grain is medium-sized. It is very hard to machine due to its hardness and the presence of interlock fibres. Hence, it must be worked on with high power machines and high quality sawing tools. The wood is classed as having a good resistance against the action of fungi and insects, termites in particular. It can be attacked by marine xylophages. It is a natural and environmental friendly process. By heat treating the oak wood in a completely natural way, a substantial enhancement of its properties is achieved: greater durability, since the inherent resistance of the wood to the attacks of xylophage fungi, termites, insects with a larval cycle, etc. is improved. Greater stability and insulation: the heat treatment brings down the equilibrium moisture, thus improving the wood s stability and natural motions up to the point of minimising them in variable environmental conditions. Environmentally friendly because the wood is neither altered nor treated with any kind of chemical or by means of any type of chemical procedure. The properties of the wood are enhanced: Durability / Stability and insulation / 100% environmentally friendly / Greater biological resistance, thus reducing the probability of rotting / Increased thermal insulation capacity / 100% enhanced wood.

WOOD FLOORING» LAMINATE TECNICAL DATA

TECNICAL DATA THE MOST ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY IN MANUFACTURING Top layer It comprises a mosaic of ±3.8mm-thick boards arranged in parallel with tongue-and-groove joints. This is the exposed layer, the layer which will have to withstand wear and tear and which will impart the laminate floor its final appearance and beauty. IMA manufactures laminate flooring in different kinds of wood and to various grades. The three layers are glued together by means of urea-formaldehyde adhesives having a low formaldehyde content, in compliance with EN The entire perimeter of the laminates is tongued and grooved. IMA laminates finished with an OPTIMAX-CERAMIC water-based varnish bottom layer on top of which up to six successive layer of acrylic varnish are applied. intermediate layer It consists of 9mm-thick strips also made of conifer wood. The strips are sown together. The end strips are replaced with plywood strips so as to make the floor s edge tongue-and-groove more cohesive. This layer provides the assembly with cohesion and flexibility. Base layer It is made of conifer wood (usually pine or fir), 2mm thick, with straight fibres, intermediate density and waterproofed. This layer supports the other layers once the floor is installed and is in contact with the insulating layer.

TECNICAL DATA DIMENSIONAL STABILITY The test is performed in accordance with the Draft European Standard EN The test consists in the reproduction of damp environments (20 º C and 85% RH) in a conditioned chamber with the dimensions of a standard room. These environments are maintained for long periods at the end of which the deformation of the slats (bends, warps, swelling) are measured. RESISTANCE TO ABRASION This test evaluates the performance of the flooring against dynamic effects such as those produced, for example, by falling objects from a certain height. The test consists of dropping a 500 g steel ball from various heights. What is sought with this test is the maximum drop height, before permanent damage to the varnish is produced, as well as the dimensions of the imprints produced by the impact. RESISTANCE TO HOUSEHOLD PRODUCTS The test is performed according to the procedure described in the UNE EN standard, section 15. In this test, the wood flooring makes contact with various substances commonly used in the home (food products, detergents, acids, etc.) The contact time varies according to the nature of the product, from 24 hours to 10 min. The attack, the changes in gloss and the abnormal colorations of the test specimen are evaluated. HARDNESS The resistance that a material has against the penetration of another. There are various systems to evaluate the hardness of the wood: Brinnell, Janka and Monin. The data shown below for timber developed by IMA are derived from the Monin hardness test. This test is that which is required by the Spanish standard, UNE The method consists of applying a load of 100 kg per cm of sample width on the test specimen using a steel cylinder, and transversely with regards to the fibre. The hardness is the inverse of the depth of the imprint left by the cylinder on the test specimen, detergent, acid, etc.) The contact time varies according to the nature of the product, from 24 hours to 10 min. The attack, the changes in gloss and the abnormal colorations of the test specimen are evaluated. RESISTANCE OF THE VARNISH TO LIGHT The test is performed by applying the method described in the EN standard, section 16. In this test, the varnish is subjected to an accelerated aging cycle, which entails exposure to a xenon arc lamp in an atmosphere of relative humidity and specific temperature. The colour change of the test piece is then evaluated. THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY Thermal conductivity is the heat energy transferred per unit time and per unit surface area of the sample when a specific temperature difference between the face and counter-face is established. The lower the conductivity, the greater the thermal insulation and therefore the greater the energy cost savings. The thermal conductivity is measured by applying the method described in the UNE standard in an atmosphere of relative humidity and specific temperature. The colour change of the test piece is then evaluated. RESISTANCE TO IMPACT This test evaluates the performance of the flooring against dynamic effects such as those produced, for example, by falling objects from a certain height. The test consists of dropping a 500 g steel ball from various heights. What is sought with this test is the maximum drop height, before permanent damage to the varnish is produced, as well as the dimensions of the imprints produced by the impact. SCRATCH PERFORMANCE Scratch resistance is evaluated by applying the method described in the UNE EN standard, section 14. This resistance is evaluated by the minimum force applied to a diamond tip with a pre-defined geometry to produce an imprint on the varnish which is visible to the naked eye. FORMALDEHYDE EMISSIONS Formaldehyde is a component of wood adhesives that is considered toxic at certain levels of emission. The majority of developed countries have increasingly limiting health regulations regarding the content of formaldehyde in industrial processed wood. The result obtained regarding the content of formaldehyde in the IMA laminate flooring is described in the UNE EN 120 standard, which is class E1 (less than 8 mg per 100 g of product mass). IMPACT NOISE INSULATION It is the reduction of the standardised impact noise level that a coating material installed on a slab or floor allows in the underlying premises. Other types of wood flooring, such as wood flooring on battens or mosaic wood flooring on mortar are unable to meet the specification of the basic building standard NBE CA-88 of 80 dba over the majority of the various combinations of the most common floor slabs used in construction. IMA laminate flooring installed on 3 mm polyethylene foam provides an impact noise reduction of 18 dba.

TECNICAL DATA» RESISTANCE RESISTANCE EXCLUSIVE VARNISH RESISTANCE OPTIMAX CERAMIC The finish of the IMA wood flooring consists of a first coat of water-based OPTIMAX CERAMIC varnish and, on top of this, up to 6 successive layers of acrylic varnish. Ecological, because the varnish is water-based. Applied as the 1st layer in the varnish coating line of the manufacturing process, it is noteworthy that the wood impregnation agent is water-based. This allows the resulting final product to be fireproof. It does not give off odours. High varnish coating adhesion to wood: The water easily permeates the wood through its surface, and by means of very sophisticated technology, the first layer becomes fully bonded to the wood, thus achieving a high resistance to abrasion and scratches. Optimum waterproofing, therefore the wood is highly protected. The low ph of OPTIMAX CERAMIC maintains the natural colour of the wood. This effect is especially seen with reddish woods, minimising the colour change upon contact with light.

TECNICAL DATA» INSTALLATION INSTALLATION EASY AND QUICK Unlike most wood flooring, installing IMA laminated flooring is simple and fast. The only requirement is some familiarity with performing DIY jobs and a set of simple tools. However, some installation recommendations should be followed in order to avoid problems in the future use of the flooring. The following shows the basic tools and steps to follow in the installation of your wood flooring. BASIC TOOLS Level Fine tooth handsaw Wooden Hammer Plantilla Template Crowbar for wall copings Tape measure and square Wooden wedges Adhesive Foam / Polyethylene sheet 1 - FLOORING BASE First of all, we need a clean, level floor, with an appropriate degree of moisture for installation. In the case of a renovation, the old wooden floor can be left in place. 2 - POLYETHYLENE FOAM Lay the 1mm-thick polyethylene foam on top of the base. Place the foam strips parallel to the direction of the slats. If you think there is a change that damp patches might appear in the future or if the house is going to remain empty for extended periods of time, it is advisable to lay first a polyethylene plastic sheet (0.15mm). Then lay the foam on top of it. 3 - START THE INSTALLATION Start placing the boards at one corner of the room generally in a direction parallel to the longest side thereof, with the grooved edge (female) facing the wall and the tongue (male) facing the middle of the room. Please remember to apply glue to the edge tongue-and-grooves of the slats as well. When you are done with the first course, use the cuttings which are usually generated to begin the second course (provided their length is shorter than 30cm). Otherwise, keep them to finish off other spots. Thus, you will be able to stagger the edge joints of adjacent slats too. It is advisable to leave a minimum separation of 50cm between joints. Place wedges along the wall joint spaced 8 to 10mm. 4 - SECOND ROW Lay the second course and glue it to the first one by means of the tongue-andgroove. Apply glue to both the tongue of the new boards and the groove of the first course boards. 5 - FOLLOWING ROWSCLICK Successively proceed with the rest of courses in the same manner. Secure the boards to each other using the wooden template/chock and the mallet/hammer. 6 - CLEANING THE ADHESIVE Clean the excess glue that might come up through the joints with a moist cloth.

TECNICAL DATA» INSTALLATION INSTALLATION EASY AND QUICK 7 - LAST ROW There is usually no room left for a full board when the last course is laid. If this is the case, cut the boards lengthwise. It might be easier to cut the last boards with the help of another slat. Leave some room for the perimeter joint. 8 - USE THE CROWBAR Secure the last course using the crowbar. 9 - COMPLETION AND COPINGS Remove the wedges and leave the expansion joint unobstructed. Once you have removed the wedges, install the skirting board, which will cover the expansion joint. After this, the installation is complete. In those places where the laminate floor meets other floors, install decorative elements in the intervening space. Installation over underfloor heating The IMA laminate flooring is perfectly compatible with the most common systems of underfloor heating (radiating thread or hot water pipe). In this case, for the heating system to work at full capacity, it is necessary that the laminate flooring is in close or intimate contact with the heated surface. The temperature of the floor should not exceed 25 C or 26 C, which means a temperature at the surface of the floorboards of 24 C. Before starting the installation, the heating tests should be conducted at 2/3 the power in order to help with the setting and drying of the floor. Attention to the pipe distribution fittings which could produce concentrations of heat which may be harmful to the laminate flooring. ADDITIONAL INSTALLATION RECOMMENDATIONS COPINGS. In the protruding areas, such as corners, pillars, etc., the laminate flooring boards must be cut while maintaining the expansion joint. For the execution of the pipe passage holes, use an electric drill with a special bit to create large diameter holes. Cutting the laminate flooring boards in the area of the heating pipe passage holes can be made using a jigsaw. The diameter of these holes should be 20 mm greater than that of the pipe traversing the hole. It may be necessary to adjust doors and trims in order to install the laminate flooring below these. A minimum clearance of 5 mm between the door leaf and the floor is recommended.
