SOLID BAMBOO FLOORING IN OUR SAPPHIRE RANGE This is the green option as Bamboo is harvested from managed plantations every six years. We carefully select the hardest bamboo which is not from any region where panda bears reside as they are in our own plantations well away from the higher mountain regions. Our Bamboo boards are all natural as we apply the WOCA Woodcare Denmark natural oil on all our Bamboo floors. The four products below are 125mm wide x 17mm thick x 1000mm long and are structural boards. By using Oil we are ahead of our competitors as the floor can be easily repaired and as the oil soaks into the fibre of the Bamboo it does not sit on top like lacquers which means you will get a very hard durable floor that can be easily maintained and repaired. 2 SOLID OAK WOOD FLOORING IN OUR DIAMOND RANGE All our solid boards are 18mm thick and the lengths are normally random. You can mix our long boards with our random length boards. All our boards have a micro bevel except the unfinished one which has a square edge. 5 ENGINEERED OAK FLOORING IN OUR DIAMOND RANGE Suitable for most environments including most types of underfloor heating Board widths range from 150mm, 189mm 220mm and 250mm Our engineered boards are not like the cheap versions where you get a mixture of birch and softwood, or where there is just two thin layers of birch and a thick centre layer of softwood like pine. All our engineered boards have a multi cross ply structure with layers of Birch for strength and stability and are structural boards which means they can be laid directly over joists. Our Sandwich boards are an all Oak Engineered board and 250mm plus wide. Engineered wooden floors are suitable for nailing onto an existing suitable base such as onto joists, battens, chipboard or plywood, they can also be glued down using the Bona R850 adhesive (see the adhesive section on the web site), or laid as a floating floor where you just glue the tongue and grooves together. As our engineered wood floors are top quality they are ideal for new build or renovation projects such as homes, flats, offices, studios, restaurants and bars, pubs and clubs. Our engineered floors can also be easily and quickly installed over solid sub-floors using the Bona R850 adhesive. If the subfloor needs to be sealed and damp proofed then you can use the new Bona R580 to do this before gluing down with the Bona R850. The product code is our identifier. We have wide and long boards and our Random Length boards (RL) have an average of 900mm to 1000mm with lengths between 400mm and 1800mm well above the industry standard and they are all single planks. You can mix our boards with long and random lengths and different widths. All the boards below are lacquered unless they state Oiled. This means that even with our extensive range if we do not have the colour you want we can create it with Danish oils the best in the world. This is one way to get a white board or any colour you like. If you want to prevent the ageing yellowing that can happen you can treat the board with wood lye which takes the tannins out of the cell structure of the wood, you can then treat it with any of the WOCA oils and the colour will remain. 14 Our Flooring Finishes This guide explains our Floor finishes and the products we use to ensure a trouble free floor. The final finish will depend on your personal taste but as we use industrial strength lacquers our floors will stand up to most situations. If you want a higher gloss then you can use the Bona Polish Gloss product which you can apply with the Bona Micro Fibre applicator pad found in the Bona maintenance kits. We have three main finishes as follows and all are applied under strict factory and quality control procedures which will ensure a perfect floor. Full details of each company s products can be seen in the relevant PDF files in the Floor Finishing section. Lacquered Floors one of the hardest finishes available We use the Bona Natural for industrial applications and apply 9 coats. The process is as follows and we have quoted the product codes for clarification: 1. One coat of UV Primer UW0310 this gives good adhesion and is cured using IR drying Lamps 2. Three coats of UV curing light filler UL0115 giving high abrasion resistance 3. One coat of UV Base coat (anti-scratch) UB0135 cured with a UV lamp 4. One coat of Bona Natural base coat UB8128 cured with a UV lamp 5. One coat of UV Base coat UB0123 cured with a UV lamp 6. Two coats of Bona Natural Top coats UT8098 cured with Mercury lamps and this top coat has a high resistance to scratching due to its industrial strength. Natural Oiled Floors We use the WOCA Woodcare Denmark products for all our oiled floors and apply 2 coats at the factory. You can then use the master Oils to give the floor a deeper finish using a polishing mop and patina discs after it has been laid. We supply the WOCA maintenance oil and oil soap for cleaning. UV Oiled Floors We apply 3 coats at the factory and cure using infra red heat to ensure a very hard wearing surface that can easily be repaired. We use the WOCA UV oil and also supply maintenance kits with paste and soap oil for cleaning.
