As wood is particularly infl uenced by fl uctuations in temperature and humidity, it s essential that the various layers of the planks are perfectly attuned to each other. only a careful selection of raw materials combined with a perfect control of moisture content during the production process, optimum stability and durability of your fl oor can be guaranteed. Quality in every layer Quick step parquet consists of 3 layers of stable, hard and durable wood with a protective fi nish applied in the factory! 1 for our compact range, we use a high density fibre (hdf) core we use recycled rubber wood (also known as hevea) for the core of most of our wooden fl oors.

HEVEA Core Originally planted for its latex production, Hevea - the core of most of our wooden flooring is made from trees that are better known as rubber trees. After 25 years, these trees no longer yield sufficient latex and are logged. In the past, farmers used to burn them, but now Quick Step recycles and uses the wood to produce quality Quick Step wood flooring. PEFC/ For a long time already, Quick Step has had the PEFC forest certification. 32 32 your guide YOUR guide Wood SPECIES The wood species you choose determines the colour, surface texture and feel of your floor - and by consequence the whole atmosphere of your interior. In this collection, you can choose from several wood species. for a perfect wood floor OAK Oak has a yellow to brown colour, sometimes in contrast with pale sapwood. It shows a straight grain or a characterful flame pattern. ASH Ash planks have a white to pale yellow colour, they have a beautiful pattern with flames and straight grain. WALNUT Walnut has a warm brown colour with a good visible dark straight or curling grain. The sapwood is whitish which results in a lively floor. MERBAU Merbau varies widely from orange towards dark reddish brown. It has a uniform structure and a natural shine. JATOBA This Brazilian wood species with a natural shine is reddish pink and brown, and sometimes has a straight black grain. GRADING Each tree is unique, and different parts of the same tree produce different surface textures and appearances. We have a unique grading system that s easy to understand and transparent. Permanently sound-absorbing Because the original underlay material thickness is maintained, you get an optimum noise reduction. Ideal for Uniclic Multifit The smooth surface of the underlay prevents parts of the underlay from getting stuck in between the Uniclic Multifit tongue and groove during installation. leveling effect Small irregularities or damage to the floor base are easily compensated. 2-in-1 system The damp-proof membrane with adhesive strip has already been integrated into the levelling underlay. GLUED DOWN Why Quick Step parquet glue? This SMP polymer glue (solvent- and isocyanate-free), especially developed to glue your Quick Step wood floor to most types of sub-surfaces is a ready-to-use, one-component glue. reduces reflection sound to a minimum. QSWGL16 Underfloor heating Every Quick Step wood flooring with the exception of ash- is suitable for installation over traditional underfloor heating. Keep in mind the following remarks: Since a damp-resistant screen cannot be used in combination with a glued down wood floor, sudden or large temperature changes might cause condensation. For floating installations, the most effective result is obtained with the Quick Step CoolHeat underlay. Using the correct underlay can stop rising damp or condensation. Open joints during the heating period are almost non existent. Compared to a glued installation the thermal transmittance and efficiency is slightly lower.

51 REPAIR Recreate the colour of damaged planks quickly and easily with 7 wax pieces selected to cover all Quick Step colours. Content: one melting knife, one cleaning comb, 7 wax blocks.
