If two screws fit the criteria, choose the shorter overall length screw. Example: 5/8 Dens-glass with 2 insulation and 2 airspace. Sheathing thickness is 2-5/8. Distance from backup to start of veneer is 4-5/8. Both the 3-5/8 screw and the 4-1/8 screw fit the criteria. Specify the 3-5/8 long screw.
