11 Step 2: Wall Assembly This Step Replaces Step 2 of the Fort Instruction Continue with Fort Steps 3 to Step 5, then on to Step 6 from this Instruction Predrill Pilot Holes for Lag Screw Hex Bolt Assembly Note: Pre-drill all holes using a 1/8 drill bit before installing the lag screws. 14 Step 16: Wall Assembly cont. D: Place (ML1) CE Wall Board tight to the top of (F17) End Floor and attach to the outside of (F13) Post and the inside of (ML6) MK Mount with 4 (S2) #8 x 1-1/2 Wood Screws as shown in fig and The (ML1) CE Wall Board should have the bevelled edges facing out and flush to the outside edge of (ML6) MK Mount. E: Above the (ML1) CE Wall Board attach (ML5) MK Wall to outside of (F13) Post with 1 (H2) 1/4 x 2 Hex Bolts (with lock washer, flat washer and t-nut). (fig. 16.2) F: Make sure the (ML5) MK Wall is square to the post and then attach to inside of fort on (ML6) MK Mount with 2 (S2) #8 x 1-1/2 Wood Screws. Make sure the bottom of the boards are tight against the (F6) Cedar Gap Board, bevelled edges are facing out and are at the top of the boards and there are no gaps between boards. 15 Step 22: Monkey Rail Assembly A: Insert 3 (ML8) 1-1/8 x 15-7/8 Dowels into both (ML7) Rail MK as shown in (fig. 22.1). ML7 Fig Two hole end attaches to fort ML8 ML8 ML8 ML7 B: Make sure shoulder of dowel is against each rail before pre-drilling pilot holes. Drill 1/8 pilot holes through the rails and into the dowels to prevent splitting. (fig 22.2) Make sure shoulder is against rail before drilling holes ML8 Fig C: Attach (ML8) 1-1/8 x 15-7/8 Dowels to both rails with 2 (S3) #8 x 2-1/2 Wood Screws per dowel as shown in fig Fig S3 Wood Parts 3 x ML8 Tennon Dowel 1-1/8 x 15-7/8 2 x ML7 Rail MK 2 x 4 x 52 Hardware 6 x S3 # 8 x 2-1/2 Screw 15

16 Step 23: Monkey Ladder Assembly Predrill Pilot Holes for Lag Screw Hex Bolt Assembly Note: Pre-drill all holes using a 1/8 drill bit before installing the lag screws. Lag Screw Flat Washer Predrill 1/8 pilot hole Use factory drilled hole as a guide Lock Washer Flat Washer He x Bolt T- Nut A: Insert 1 (ML9) 1-1/8 x 18-5/8 Dowel into 2 (ML4) Post MK as shown in (fig. 23.1). ML9 ML4 Fig Fig Make sure shoulder is against rail before drilling holes B: Make sure shoulder of dowel is against each post before pre-drilling pilot holes. Drill 1/8 pilot holes through the posts and into the dowel to prevent splitting. (fig. ML C: Attach (ML9) 1-1/8 x 18-5/8 Dowel to both posts with 2 (S2) #8 x 1-1/2 Wood Screws. One screw is installed from top of the posts and the other from the bottom as shown in fig ML4 D: To bottom of the posts attach (ML2) MK Ground with 2 (H12) 1/4 x 3 Hex Bolts (with lock washer, flat washer and t-nut). Be sure to keep the bolts loose. (fig. 23.3) E: Make sure the assembly is square and then attach 1 (ML3) Lower Diagonal to each end of (ML2) MK Ground with 1 (H2) 1/4 x 2 Hex Bolt (with lock washer, flat washer and t-nut) per side, keeping the bolts loose, and to each (ML4) Post MK with 1 (LS2) 1/4 x 2-1/2 Lag Screw (with flat washer) per diagonal. Once lag screws are installed tighten all bolts from Steps D & E. 17 Step 24: Connect Monkey Bar Assemblies Note: Pre-drill all holes using a 1/8 drill bit before installing the pan screws. A: Using a Monkey Bracket connect both (ML7) Rail MK to each (ML4) Post MK with 1 (G10) 5/16 x 3 Hex Bolts (with lock washer, flat washer and t-nut) and the Monkey Bracket to the rails using 2 (S6) #12 x 1 Pan Screws per rail as shown in (fig & 24.2). Attach the single hole of (ML7) Rail MK t the (ML4) Post MK. B: Attach Monkey Brackets to both (ML4) Post MKs with 2 (S6) #12 x 1 Pan Screws per bracket. (fig & 24.2) Fig ML7 ML7 The angle between the (ML4) Post MK and (ML7) Rail MK should be 90 degrees. 18 Step 25: Connect Monkey Bar Assembly to Admiral, Balmoral or Oriana Fort Note: For Connection to the Oriana Pavilion see next Step. Lag Screw Flat Washer Predrill 1/8 pilot hole Use factory drilled hole as a guide A: Using a Monkey Bracket attach (ML7) Rail MK to (ML6) MK Mount with 1 (G10) 5/16 x 3 Hex Bolt (with lock washer, flat washer and t-nut) and Monkey Bracket to the rail using 2 (S6) #12 x 1 Pan Screws as shown in fig & B: Attach Monkey Bracket to (ML6) MK Mount with 2 (S6) #12 x 1 Pan Screws. 19 Step 25: Connect Monkey Bar Assembly to Admiral, Balmoral or Oriana Fort cont. E: Drive 1 (ML10) Ground Stake 10-1/2 into the ground at one (ML4) Post MK on the inside of the assembly and attach with 2 (S3) #8 x 2-1/2 Wood Screws. 20 Step 26: Connect Monkey Bar Assembly to Oriana Pavillion A: At the remaining ends of (ML7) Rail MK place 1 MB Hanger Bracket on each rail and attach with 1 (PL5) 1/4 x 2 Pan Bolt (with 2 flat washers and 1 lock nut) per bracket as shown in (fig. 26.1). Keep bolts loose. B: Insert 4 hole plugs in the 2 open holes on (ML7) Rail MK, both sides of board as shown in fig C: Place Monkey Bar Assembly on (OR14) MK Roof Side and attach through the MB Hanger Brackets with 2 (PB2) 1/4 x 1-1/4 Pan Bolts (with lock washer, flat washer, and t-nut) per bracket. (fig. 26.2) D: Attach each (ML7) Rail MK to the (OP14) MK Roof Side with 2 (S3) #8 x 2-1/2 Wood Screws per side from the inside of the assembly. Tighten bolts in MB Hanger Bracket from Step A now. (fig & 26.3) E: Drive 1 (ML10) Ground Stake 10-1/2 into the ground at (ML4) Post MK on the inside of the assembly as shown in (fig. 26.4) and attach with 2 (S3) #8 x 2-1/2 Wood Screws.
