Task 1 P1, P2 and D1: There are many types of computer games for example action games, role-playing games, adventure games and more. In this task I am going to be going over and illustrating the different types of computer games. Actions games: This is a computer game genre that will emphasize physical challenges. This can be hand-eye coordination to reaction-time. There are many other types of games that are also considered an action game. For example first person shooters and fighting games will often be categorized as an action game. For example street fighter or call of duty would be considered an action game. In an action game the player would typically control an avatar. The avatar would need to collect objects, avoid obstacles and defeat enemies to be able to complete the level. Usually at the end of a level there would be a boss to defeat that would usually be harder to defeat then the other enemies. Role-playing game (RPG): This is a game in which players will assume the roles of characters this is mostly done in a fictional setting. Players will take responsibility for acting out these roles within a narrative. This can be done in two ways one of them being either through a literal acting and the other way being through a process of structured decision-making. One game that would be classified as an RPG would be Mass effect this is because you are playing as a character and making decisions all the time that will affect what will happen later on in the game. Real time strategy (RTS): This type of game is a subgenre of a strategy game. Usually in a RTS the participants position and manoeuvre units and structures under their control to be able to secure areas of the map or destroy

their opponents. In most RTS games it is typically known that you are allowed to create additional units and structures during the course of the game. This is done by collecting resources. One example of a RTS game would be clash of clans this is because you will need to create troops to help defend your base and also attack enemy s bases and accumulate resources in order to expand your base. Puzzle games: This is a unique type of game that emphasises puzzle solving. These types of games are able to test many puzzle solving skills. For example logic, pattern recognition, sequence solving and word completion. In these games the player might have be time or have a limited amount of tries to solve the puzzle. A type of well-known puzzle game would be Tetris by limiting the number of tries you have in a puzzle game players will go for high scores in games. Platform: This could be considered as a subgenre of an action game. A platform game includes guiding a player to jump between platforms or over obstacles. The player will need to control where the character goes to make sure that they do not fall to their death. There could also be enemies in the game that you would need to defeat. For example in Mario, which is a well-known platform game, there are enemies such as turtles that are on different platforms that you could choose to avoid or kill by jumping on their head.

Simulations: The aim of these types of games is to closely simulate real world activities. This can be used for various different purposes such as training, analysis or prediction. Usually there are no strictly designed goals in the game. Players are usually allowed to freely control a character. One type of simulation games would be a vehicle simulator game this could be used as training to prepare you for a driving exam as it simulated driving a type of vehicle. Sports games: This is a video game that will simulate the practice of sports. Some sports games will actually allow you to control players and allow you to play the sport such as FIFA or Madden NFL. Other sports games will focus on the strategy side of sport management such as football manager. Most of the sports that exist have been recreated as a game including the likes of team sport, extreme sports and combat sports. Stealth shooter games:

This is a type of video game that tasks the player with using stealth to manoeuvre through a level. In these types of games players can remain undetected by being able to hide in places, disguise yourself and avoid making noise. Some stealth games will allow the player to choose to be stealthy or guns blazing. However the game will reward players more for being stealthy. One well known stealth game would be Deus EX this is a stealth game because it allows you to hide behind objects and take out people silently. Combat games: This is a type of game where players can control a character on screen that engages in close combat with an opponent. The opponent can either be controlled by AI or another player. These fight matches will happen in an arena and will have multiple rounds. Usually different character will have different abilities so you have to play with all of them to see which one best suits you. First person shooter (FPS): These types of games are centred on gun combat in first person. FPS games will share a lot of common traits with other shooter games which will make it fall under the category of an action game. The aim of the game is for the player to experience action through the perspective of the character. There are many famous types of FPS games for example battlefield 1 and call of duty WW2.

Educational games: These are games that are specifically designed with educational purposes. These types of games may be used in an educational environment. These games are designed to help people learn about certain subjects, expand on concepts or reinforce development. They can even be used to help understand a historical event. Massively multiplayer online (MMO): This is an online game that has the capability of supporting thousands of players online at the same time. MMOS will usually have a huge open world where players are allowed to work together and complete missions together. Sometimes MMOS will allow you to be aggressive with other players for example challenging them to a battle. Technology has helped the development of games immensely this is because with better graphics being made this will allow game creators to use them when creating a new game improving on the quality for people to enjoy. Another thing that has been developed in games thanks to technology would be the used of audio. As before it was not possible but now you can have sound effects in games to make it seem more realistic. For example if you die or a character is hurt in a game they would make a sound showing that they are in pain. Game play of games has also changed due to technology as before you could only make the character move in certain directions only. But now you can make the character fly, jump, squat, shoot and do all sorts while following a storyline in the game. Artificial intelligence has also helped improve the gaming experience as it allows people to play with other people allowing for multiplayer. Without all of these improvements in technology games would be basic. There are also different types of gaming platforms for people to play games on. Such as a personal computer, portable hand held console, a mobile phone and the internet. This will allow people to always have some way to play a game. For example if you are out you can t take a console with you

so you take your hand held console with you to be able to play but if you forget that you always have your phone on you allowing you to play games on it. In addition if you are a bit bored at work you can use the internet to play games as there are many games on the internet. All these different gaming platforms will have different specs to it allowing different games to run on it with different quality. For example a game on a personal computer might run better than a game on a mobile phone or hand held console. There are many concerns when it comes to computer games these are excess playing time, social isolation, costs, separation from reality and education. On the other hand there are also many benefits. Such as hand-eye coordination, brain training, thinking and strategy skills, future impacts. I am going to be explaining the impact that they have on society. Let me start off with the concerns, the first concern that I would like to talk about is the excess playing time. When it comes to playing time most people are concerned because it is common knowledge that when you play too many games for many hours you will not concentrate as well in other tasks. For example if you have an assignment due the next day and instead of doing that assignment you decide to play games for the whole day then you are going to fail. Or if you have an exam then next day and instead of revising for that exam you play games you will not do as well in that exam. This is a concern because it has a negative effect on society. The next concern that I would like to talk about is social isolations. This links with playing games for a long time because a side effect of doing so is social isolation. This is when the person that is playing games for an excess amount of hours has not got any friends or does not go outside to socialize with other people. This can have a very negative impact on society because it makes it harder for people to talk to each other and communication is used in many different ways and is very important. Another concern would be the cost what is meant by this is the cost to be able to play games is ridicules. For example you need a console to play games which will roughly cost about 300 then after you have bought that you will need to buy the actual game itself which costs between for the normal version of that game. If you wanted a limited addition version of that game it will cost around 80. This is a concern because it puts pressure onto parents if they cannot afford games for their children. Parents are constantly under pressure as their children will always want the newer version of their game or gaming console. Separation from reality is also a concern some people that play games have problems when it comes to disconnecting from virtual world so they shy away from interactions with people. In worse cases they can also thing of reality as a game and they can think of the virtual world as their reality. There are many reasons for this happening for example this can happen because of bullying and stress. This is a concern and it affects society because people can end up doing bad things for example if they think that reality is a game they can start to commit crimes because they think that there are no consequences. Education is the last concern that I would like to talk about. For some people education isn t the main concern. For some people the main concern is how they are going to beat the next level of their game. Some people go so far to skip school and stay home and play games instead. They think of school as some sort of chore that does not have to be done. Playing games for an extended period of time is not good when it comes to education as it takes your mind of it completely. This is another way in which gaming effects society Now on to the benefits of computer games the first benefit that I would like to talk about is brain training. Not all games are made for just fun some games are made for educational purposes as well.

For example there is game on the Nintendo ds called brain training this is a game that will challenge you brain. Therefore training you brain, also some games are used to help people with their reading and mathematics skills. Another example of this would be a gaming website on the internet called cool maths games. This overall has a positive impact on society as games can also help people with their education if used in the right way. Another benefit that I would like to talk about is thinking and strategy skills. Because of games people have better thinking skills when it comes to strategies. This is because in certain games like clash of clans you will need to come up with some sort of strong strategy in order for your base not to get destroyed. This will require a lot of thinking these skills will then transfer to real life problems making gamers better at solving problems than people who don t play games. This is a positive effect on society. The impact that games have on people in the future is phenomenal. Thanks to computer games having an impact on society and are more widely known by people around the world. Some people are taking it upon there selves to get into the gaming industry whether it is to make their own game or help produce a game. This shows a range of skills for example it shows that a person is independent as they are willing to make their own game for other people to play it also shows that people are willing to work in their own time. This is overall a positive impact on society. The last benefit that I would like to talk about is the impact that it has on main stream. Sometimes gamers can get lucky and start earning money from playing the games that they love. Some people are really lucky and earn up to millions on playing computer games. For example people that play video games and upload or stream their gameplay to platforms like YouTube and twitch make a living over playing computer games. People who make money of playing computer games get recognised by people. They also get recognised if they are good at a specific game. D1: Computer games have a lot of psychological effects on individuals and society. These can be beneficial for example improving the hand eye coordination, brain training and more. These can also be negative for example social isolation, cost and more. Games also play a part on how we think and feel when we are playing them. This is known as the psychological effect of computer gaming. Games will include the following sounds, completion, high score listings, peer pressure, educational value, they are fun, expectations and levelling. These features of a game can make the gamer become more emotionally involved in the game. Gamers can have both negative and positive feelings when playing a game this is based on the design of the game and how engrossed with the game. Use of sound: The used of sound in video games helps to immerse the player in the gameplay. The sounds in the game can be used to re-enforce the player s thoughts about their performance in game. In a game like watch dogs sound is used to create an environment this is because the sound is created to match the current weather conditions in the game. Using sounds in this way makes the player become more immersed as the sounds and visuals work together to make the game seem as realistic as possible. As you can see sounds are used to create a better experience for the gamer and is used to enhance the emotional experience during gameplay. An article from Mark Grimshaw from the University of Bolton says that games use music to sometimes function as a reward mechanism and possibly allowing for reinforcement learning. From this I can tell that the use of sound is to make the player thing both positively and negatively during gameplay depending on if they have done something right or wrong. This also shows reinforced learning because the gamer will know by the sounds if they have done something good or done something wrong.

High score: This was used in earlier games to make player feel better than other players at the game. High scores will make the player feel and act differently as they are constantly want to be the best and will most likely be upset if someone beats there high score. People say that games have evolved since then, however the concept of comparing our performance against others still remains. These days people compare how much trophies they have or what achievements they have in a certain game. The social and competitive nature of modern games make us thing about improving our gaming strategy to be able to compete with other people and better ourselves in their eyes. Awards and bonus systems and score listing will allow us to compare with others and these are usually represented in the game visually. Having high scores will also make people spend more time on games as they are trying to constantly have the highest score possible. In the EDGE magazine they said The second big thing game designers can do to make you feel more pleased with yourself and your performance is to make you feel like a big fish in a small pond. This is because people who are ranked near the top of a remedial group actually feel better about themselves than those ranked near the bottom of a higher performing group, even though the latter may be performing better than the former in absolute terms. Sometimes all it takes to make you feel like the smartest person in the room is to step into a closet full of dullards. (Madigan, 2017). Competitive games: There are many positives to competitive gaming; players can have the opportunity to play against or with other gamers from all over the world. This makes it an international competition that runs all day every day. Communicating with people and cooperating with them can be a really positive experience of competitive gaming. This can also lead to friendships with people that you have not met in person. Friendly online competition has the power to boost your social skills and can create a number of people to talk and play with when people are able to fund a common interest whilst taking part in competitive gaming. Competitive gaming will also help players test each other in ways that may help them work together in online or even offline projects. However competitive gaming can also have a negative impact on individuals. More competitive games produced greater levels of aggressive behaviour than less competitive games, no matter how much violence was in the games, according to research published online in Psychology of Violence. The study was conducted by lead author Paul J.C. Adachi, M.A., a PhD candidate at Brock University in Canada. ( 2017) Studies like this show that more competitive games produce a greater level of aggressive behaviour than less competitive games no matter how much violence was in the game. These statements shows how competitive gaming can impact an individual and may psychologically affect them in terms of them becoming a more aggressive person. People will start to get mad and frustrated for not completing certain challenges or being beaten by other gamers. In addition gamers playing in a competitive environment are showed to have an increase in their heart rate during and after gameplay. This shows that competitive gaming has both psychological and physical effect on gamers. Peer pressure: This is something that is very relevant in the world of teenage gamers who will need to have the latest and greatest platforms and games in the game industry. Game consoles are usually released during Christmas to ensure that they get the most sales possible. This is also the period where people will have the most money to be spent. The pressure to have the latest console is driven by peer pressure. This will put pressure on parents to but the latest gaming equipment and games. Getting into the minds of gamers using peer pressure will have a psychological impact on gamers as they will constantly need to show that they are successful in front of their peers.

Fun: Most casual gamers play for fun this is a fact. The enjoyment that is achieved by playing games helps players escape reality becoming more immerses in a fantasy world where they are able to act out the life of a character. Game designers consider the emotions of gamers when they are designing the game and one of the key emotions is to be able to target player fun. There are a lot of bad press gaming gets in terms of promoting negative emotions to players. However one key psychological factor that will drive gamers is to be able to experience fun. Educational value: Research shows that video games have helped people to increase their language skills, basic maths skills, basic reading skills as well as their social skills. Video games have sometimes even been used to train children with disabilities to communicate with other people. Video games have also been used to help children improve the way that they think. Although some people say that games can have a negative effect on children s education it can also have a very positive effect on children s education if they are used correctly. One example of game that can help people in education would be a game called brain training. In this game there are many different mini games that are designed to engage your brain and help train it. Research has consistently shown that playing computer games produces reductions in reaction times, improved hand-eye co-ordination and raises players selfesteem. This shows that educational value can have a positive social effect. Expectations: When playing games, gamers will have an expectation this can be about the platform the play on (PS4, XBOX, PC) to the titles they play (CALL OF DUTY). As technology has improved and games have become more realistic gamers expectations has also increased. If we look at a game like Call Of Duty gamers will expect the game to have better graphics and be more realistic and improve overall when the new game comes out every year. Gamers expect immediate feedback during gameplay. Overall this has a positive impact as it drives the gaming industry to have more jobs available to make the game better and up to people s expectations. Levelling: In games you have the ability to level up this is a smart move from game designers. This is because players will become more immersed in gameplay when they have short and long term challenges. This means that players will spend more time playing games due to the reward system that is embedded in the gameplay. Constantly levelling up in a game and getting rewards from it will engross players in a game and take them on an endless journey where there aim is to improve continuously within a certain game. This will make the gamer think that they are part of the game. In conclusion games impact society and individuals and how we think and feel both in real life and when we are playing a game. When games are not played excessively the positives will outweigh the negatives, only a small percentage of gamers get so involved with games that it has a negative psychological effect on them. Task 2 P4, P3, M1, M2, and D2: Story board:

This is the first draft of my game and how I would like it to look. I used paint because it was easy to use and it added colour to the draft. It also allowed me to lay out exactly how I wanted my game to look. Using google I searched for a character image to use in my game and I decided to go with this image. Because it is trendy and is well known around the world for being a meme. Using google again I went to look for an image to use as the objects that are going to be flying at you for you to shoot. I choose this because in the meme it involves African men. Therefore this picture would be relevant to the game.

I used paint again for this design that shows what I want to happen when you hit an object. I want the object to split into 2 smaller objects. This is the flow chart for my game demonstrating how I would like my game to run. Pseudo code: This is code that can be easily understood by other people it is not a programming language however it can be used as a basic way to describe how a set of instructions work. In addition pseudo code does not have specific syntax. An example would be If (enemy hits knuckles) { } End the game Game Over music will play Game will display the game over Narrative: You are knuckles and you got lost in the forest looking for sonic. The people form the forest are trying to protect it and are trying to kill you because you are trespassing. Your goal is that you have to try and survive for as long as possible by shooting the people that are out to get you.

Action list: Space Bar: To shoot a bullet Left key: rotate the character to the left Right key: rotate the character to the right Up key: move up Down key: Move Down To be able to move right or left you will have to rotate the character in that direction and then press up or down to be able to move in that direction. Program design: Firstly what is the purpose of the game? The purpose of the game is to destroy the objects that are coming towards you by shooting bullets at them in order to survive for as long as possible. Data Why it is type used and what it means? String This is something that will contain letters and/or numbers and symbols that will be inside a set of speech marks. Int These are only used when you want to declare whole numbers and they cannot contain letters, decimals or Examples The string that is score this was to enable a score on the top centre of the screen where it would track your score. This is an example where I declare variables. The reason why I used int here is so that I could set the speed of which the asteroid will move at. I also use another int that being 360 I did this so that the asteroid spawns at a random place

other symbols double A double can contain numbers that have decimals. When wanting something to be more accurate you would use a double this is because it allows decimals. private This is different to public as private members are only accessible inside the class where they are Public declared in. This is an important keyword because it will declare members access as public. What this does it makes other classes able to access public fields or methods. Here is an example where I declared double variables. This is because I wanted the speed to be precise. This is an example from my game where I declared private so that other public or methods cannot modify this. I declared the world as public in this example because it will allow other classes to modify it.

objects Objects will hold a state. This will be a variable that is saved inside an object Here is an example where I declared an object. This is where I have requested the asteroid world to add an object to the world. Modularity: What is modularity? Modularity is a technique where a program is separated into separate modules by doing this you are able to code them individually. I used this when I was making my game because it allowed me to work on different classes in the code without having to change all the code. It also made it easier to edit the code and more simple to read it. Develop: Choice of language: For the language I have chosen to use java which is object orientated. I used java because it is compatible with Greenfoot which is the platform which I am going to use to make my game. In addition java is strong when it comes to making 2D games. Main screen Character world

Main character(ship/knuckles) Big enemy Small enemies

Game over I am going to go through how I have made my game that is called do u know da wae the first screen shot that I am going to show you was where I created the world of my game. It also shows how I made the world size 600,600 and 1. When creating the world I had made a small mistake when I had set the highlighted bit to true what this did is that it didn t allow the objects hitting the edge of the screen to pop up on the other side therefore I had to change it later in the development of this game to false so that it would do so. On this page of code I also declared some objects like ship which was the main character of the game knuckles. The next thing that I did was make the main character knuckles also known as the ship. In this piece of code I could change the speed of the character (ship/knuckles). In addition I was able to set the speed of the bullets that where coming out of the character (ship/knuckles). This was quiet hard in terms of trying to find the right speed of which the bullet and the character should travel at. I used double so that I could be more precise with the speed as it allows me to use numbers with decimals.

You can also see that in the character code I developed the movement for the character inside public void act. I did this by saying if a certain key is pressed such as the right key then the character would turn right by 5 degrees. In the screen shot above you can also see that in the character code I made it so that if the game over screen was displayed the game would play the game_over.mp3 file which contained the game over sound. The screen shot bellows shows that if the space bar is hit then the game would play the file bullet.wav this is a sound file for the sound of the bullet. By

using Greenfoot.playsound it allowed me to play a sound when firing a bullet. I also developed the speed of the bullet which is 20 and I also added a counter so that the game knows when to add in asteroids into the world. With the bullet development the first thing that I did was make sure that when I shot the bullet it would go in the direction it that you were currently facing at that time. I did this by using the piece of code setrotation(angle). This would shoot the bullet at the same angle that you were facing. What I did next was then I added int speed as a global variable inside the public class. After I had done this I used the function move to allow the bullet to move at the speed I had set so every time the bullet goes to act it will travel at the speed that is set in this case it was 3.

For the development of the main big enemy I used the int variable to be able to set the speed of the enemies. Again I used another function called getrandomnumber I was able to place the asteroid at any random point in the world. This is an important part of the development because it allowed the enemies to spawn in different places making the game more challenging to play as you do not know where the enemies will spawn. I also used Boolean and iteration for the asteroids. For example to repeat the loop of the destruction of an enemy I used iteration. This would be a continuous loop until the game has ended because every time an enemy has been hit a sound would be played. Boolean was used so that it could check if an asteroid was hit or not. For the development of the smaller enemies it was very similar to the development of the big enemies. However when I hit these enemies I wanted them to disappear from the world. I did this by using the piece of code getworld().removeobject(this) what this does is that it gets the object from the world and then removes it. The word this is a keyword which means yourself in Greenfoot. So if I wanted to remove the small enemies I would have to use this.

In addition I had to go to the world code and write a piece of code that would spawn an enemy in every time the counter reaches 150. So every time the counter reaches 150 act steps a new enemy will spawn at a random location. I also had to make sure that the counter resets after otherwise an enemy would spawn after every other act step after 150 and that would resort in to many enemies spawning. I did this by saying counter = 0 at the end of the code. After all the main parts of the game was made such as the bullet enemies and character. The last step was to add a game over display to be able to tell the user that the game is over. In the latest version of Greenfoot they have their own colours meaning that they do not need to be implemented. Online I had to search for the colours that Greenfoot provide because at first I did not know how to choose a colour. I also had to select a font which was quiet easy as Greenfoot will allow you to use the same fonts that are used in Microsoft word. I could have improved on certain things when making a game. For example one thing that I would like to add is a start-up menu that would display the controls for the game a narrative for the game and FAQs. This would be very useful I also managed to upload my game to save my game and upload it to the Greenfoot website which will allow people to give me constructive criticism about my game. Task 3 M3, P5, P7, M4, and P6: Testing methods:

There are many methods that are used to test your game. Such as black box, white box and interface. There are also different approaches to it for example the iterative approach e.g. testing at various stages and test logs Black box: This is a method of software testing that will examine the functionality of an application without peering into its internal structures or workings. The black box above can be any software system that you want to test. Such as an operating system like Windows, a website like Bing or even a game that you have made using Greenfoot. With black box testing you are able to test these applications by only focusing on the inputs and output. You will not have to know the code that was used. Some advantages of black box testing is that the tests are done from the user s point of view. Another advantage would be that test cases can be designed as soon as the specifications are complete. One disadvantages would be that only a small number of possible inputs can be tested meaning that many program paths will be left untested. White box testing: White box testing also known as clear box testing is another method of testing software. What it does is it tests the internal structure or workings of an application, instead of its functionality. With this method the internal structure, design and the implementation of the item that is being tested is known to the person testing it. White box testing is like the work of a mechanic who will examine an engine to see why the car is not moving. It is based on an analysis of the internal structure of the system. Some advantages of white box testing is that the testing is more thorough and testing can happen at an earlier stage of development. Some disadvantages is that the tests can be very complex meaning that highly skilled resources are required. Testing at various stages: It is very important to test at various points when developing an application. For example if you have written a piece of code for a game that is meant to make you move right, left, up and down you should test that it works before trying to make the character try to shoot. This will minimize errors as you will be up to date with any errors making it easier to identify what went wrong. You could also keep test logs of when you tested the program last. So you are up to date you can also write down what the error was if there was an error.

Another way that you could test your program/game is to get people to try it out not only will this help in testing to check for errors but the feedback that you get could lead to you making improvements on your game so you are getting the best of both worlds when using this method to test your game. An example of this would be if someone tests your game and the controls don t work properly they would tell you that however if there is something that they would like you to add such as a score display they will also tell you. This means that not only do you know what is wrong with your game you can also add something new to it to improve it. Testing tools: There are many testing tools that I would also like to talk about for example programming environments facilities like debugging your programs code. Firstly what is debugging of your code? Debugging in computer programming is a multistep process that will involve identifying a problem then you will isolate the problem. After you have done this you will then find a way to correct the problem or work around the problem. The final step to test the program and check if it works. For example in Greenfoot if your game crashes it will open a window terminal that will tell you what class the error is where in the class it is for example the screenshot above shows that it is in the ACT part. It will also show you what line of code the error is occurring on and if you click on the red line it will take you to the place where the error is. For this the error was that the score was not added on properly therefore making the game crash. So to work around this I had to remove the whole score system. Another type of programming environment facility that is a type of testing tools is the ability to test your programs code.

For example in Greenfoot after writing some code you are able to compile the code by pressing the compile button on the top left of the window if there are no errors it will save your code and then you have the ability to press the run button which is on the bottom left which will allow you to run your game and test out if the code is working. Another type of testing tool would be the used of trace facilities. This is a debugging aid that will allow you to follow the execution of particular functions. At any time there are a lot of functions being monitored in this way. Tracing of a function will continue even if the function has been redefined. One of the ways of getting the functions to be traces in this way is to call the marco trace with the symbols of the functions concerned. The trace facility handles recursive and nested calls to the functions concerned. Another form of testing tools would be inspection techniques this refers to peer review of any work product. This is done by individuals that have knowledge with coding who look for defects in your code using a well-defined process. The defects that are found are logged in a logging list or issue log. The end goal of inspection techniques is to help the person improve their work or help them fix their code. It will also remove defects efficiently and as early as possible. It will also help the person learn from their defect in their code making similar defects less likely to happen in the future. Student name Feedback Improvement Anas The game sounded good it To improve add a score was fun to play and the board and a timer so that controls felt smooth people have a set time to get Ajay The game was fun to play as it includes a trendy meme in it. This also makes the game funny. as much score as possible. To improve the game you should slow down the speed that the character moves at because it is hard to control. When I press a button the character moves to fast and I end up hitting an object.

Yassin Mozes Adam Andrico Hitting an object with a bullet was satisfying as it made an explosive sound The sounds in the game make me feel like I am in the game. The way the game worked was good this is because when you hit a man it splits into two different men. This was funny as the emotions on their face changes as well. The game was fun to play and the controls where simple and easy to get round To improve the game I would add a score system or add lives so that you can tack how much points you are getting instead of just playing the game for fun. To improve the game I would add some sort of competitive aspect to it for example a score counter where it will show you how much score you get at the end of the game. To improve the game I would change the speed of the men or change where they spawn because they spawn quiet close to your character and end up hitting you straight away ending the game. To improve the game I would try and fix the hit boxes because sometimes the enemies would not touch me and the game would end. One big concern that I would like to talk about was that people who tested my game told me when I asked for feedback was the fact that they thought that my game was racist. This is because the people that I was shooting where black people. The most racist part about this was the name of the image used was called Ugandan man which further enhanced the fact that my game was racist. I did not make my game racist purposely my intent was to follow the meme that was trending ( I thought that it would be funny as the meme had been trending World Wide and lots of people have been making videos on it. However I could have gave my game to more people to test so that I could get a wider understanding on why my game was racist. Because of my game being unintentionally racist I changes it by replacing the picture of the man with the picture of the main enemy of sonic, where I got knuckles, called Eggman and this is the image I used. So when you look at my game on Greenfoot the game had been changed. Test Table: Test number Data Reasoning for the test Result that is expected Actual result with evidence

1 Starting game To see if you are able to start the game allowing the user to play 2 Moving knuckles Make sure the knuckles moves in all the directions The game would start and everything that is needed is on the screen for example the character Knuckles would move in all directions Achieved 3 Rocket shooting Check if knuckles shoots bullets when the space bar is hit Knuckles would shoot bullets Achieved 4 Enemies exploding Enemies should explode into smaller enemies when hit Enemies exploded into smaller enemies Achieved 5 Bullet disappears after hitting an object 6 Game over sound To see if the bullet disappears so that it can t continue to destroy more enemies Make sure that sound is player when The bullet disappeared after hitting an object When the game ends sound plays Achieved Achieved the bullet disappears after hitting an object Achieved sound is played once the game has ended

7 Enemies disappear after being shot 8 Knuckles hits an enemy the game ends to alert the user Make sure that enemies disappear after being shot so that there are not to many enemies on the screen at one time To make sure that the game ends properly Enemies disappears after being shot The game will end when knuckles hits an enemy Achieved enemies disappear after being hit by the bullet 9 Bullet sound Make sure that a sound is made when firing a bullet A sound is made when firing a bullet Achieved Achieved a sound is made when a bullet is fired
