This has been one crazy month! I ve been on the road more than I ve been home. As a result of my own craziness, as well as everyone else s craziness, this newsletter is probably going to be late. I apologize a lot for that! I hope everyone was able to make it to our show. We had beautiful weather and a great turn out. A lot of good finds were found by everyone. We, also, had a lot of great exhibits, both adult and YN. November brings our double auction and our annual holiday banquet is on the auction s heels. Man, I don t want to think about the holidays yet! Hope to see everyone at the next meeting. 4 Golden Eagles On October 13, the Golden Eagles met at the Golden Corral on North Kansas Expressway. Attending were Judy and Jim Carman, Bonnie and Don Eggerman, Terri and Ray Oldham, Betty and Bob Grace, Bunny and Jim Guy, Erma and Jim Brown, Judy and Jerry Schweitzer, Nancy Squibb, Russ Samay, Harry Waterson, and Nancy Redman for a total of 18. Harry shared several items for our listening pleasure. There was a letter to the editor in the publication MCA Advisory (Medal Collectors of America), concerning our very own Daniel Tiny Cross and how he represents the Ozarks Coin Club and is so noticeable. Tiny was also mentioned in the latest MNS Centinel. The same Centinel carried a story Harry submitted. Harry presented a Charles W. Elliott Medal (President of Harvard), and a replica of a plaquette with the same portrait, and with the same artist as the Elliott Medal he got from Czech Republic. Harry also shared 1 of 5 known Medal of Honor from International Fine Arts Council that was awarded for distinguished contribution to the arts. This medal was 1/10 gold filled. Harry recommended the Branson show All Hands on Deck playing at The Dutton. Bonnie Eggerman received two 2000-P Sacajawea Dollars that Nancy R. donated. We could always use contributions for our drawings. We will get together again on November 10, at 1:00 at Golden Corral on North Kansas Expressway. Exhibits at the Show This year, we had 3 YN exhibits and 5 Adult exhibits. Thank you to everyone who did an exhibit. There were some really great ones on display. The YN winners for this year were: 1st place: Christopher Underwood s exhibit on American Small Cents; 2nd place: Dillon Emery s Kennedy - The People s President; and 3rd place: Nathan Underwood s Canadian Millennium Quarters. Congratulations!!!!!! Left is a scene from our show October 24th and 25th.

6 Coin of the Month Theodore Roosevelt National Park Quarter Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota is the fourth of five sites celebrated in 2016 on a U.S. quarter. Overall, it is the 34th coin in the America the Beautiful Quarters, a series that commemorates national parks and other national sites throughout the United States and its territories. Joel Iskowitz designed and Phebe Hemphill sculpted the reverse or tails side of the quarter. Selected from among six candidate designs, it depicts a young Teddy Roosevelt on horseback surveying the terrain near the Little Missouri River. Around the image are inscriptions of THEODORE ROOSEVELT, NORTH DAKOTA, 2016 and E PLURIBUS UNUM. Obverses or heads side of quarters share the same design, John Flanagan s effigy of George Washington with surrounding inscriptions of UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, QUARTER DOLLAR, and a letter or mintmark denoting which U.S. Mint facility made it.
