2 INT. OFFICE - DAY is sitting at a table with. The door opens and in walks. He is alone. He gives a weak smile as he walks towards the table. Kathy stands up and puts her hand out. Melissa glares at him. You must be Gary. You decided to come alone? Gary gives another weak smile. I just want this to go as smoothly as possible. Melissa gives out a loud Ha. Kathy motions for Gary to sit down across from Melissa. He does so as Melissa crosses her arms glaring. Kathy goes over a file folder before looking up. Well it looks here that you have all your financial stuff in order. I did the best I could. Don t listen to him. He s hiding something. Come on Melissa, you know that s not true. Don t talk to me. (motioning to Kathy) Talk to my Lawyer. Gary looks over at Kathy. I was thinking we could just split everything down the middle. Melissa glares harder at Gary. Kathy nods. She could have the house of course.

3 Well that seems fair. I want everything. Both Kathy and Gary look at Melissa. Excuse me? You heard me. I want it all. You don t deserve a penny. Melissa, Gary is offering you half of 2 million dollars. And he s throwing in the house. Now I think... (interrupting) I don t pay you to think. I want everything. I wasted four years of my life with this bastard and I m not about to leave with nothing. Gary just sits back. He shakes his head. Well, legally you only are entitled to half of all assets. Unless there was a pre-nup and then that would be a different story. There was no pre-nup. (to Melissa) You don t want to do this. Or what? Are you scared? Screw you! I want everything and you have to pay me alimony or I m going to tell everyone what a lazy little cry baby you are. Melissa please? Mrs. Stuart, are you sure you want to take this action?

4 Hell yes. He doesn t even deserve to be in the same room as me. Mr. Stuart? Are you prepared to go to court over this? It would mean you would have to retain a lawyer. Like he could afford a lawyer after I am done with him. Gary shakes his head one more time. He sits up straight and looks Melissa straight in the eyes. Melissa, before we go on, did you ever know anything about me? Why all I did was sit on the beach and relax? I just knew you were lazy and had money. Did you ever ask yourself where the money came from? Mr. Stuart, what are you getting at? Gary reaches into his pocket and pulls out photos of Melissa with another man. Several photos, each with different men on them. He reaches into another pocket and pulls out a DV tape and sets it on the table. Well, before I traded my life in for peace, I was a lawyer. A damn good one. And if I recall, the fact that I have substantial proof that you were never faithful to me, AND the fact that you have multiple accounts full of money from pulling this kind of thing before. (beat) Well, I think I am ready for a trial. Oh yeah, legally I get half of everything as well. Melissa s eyes grow wide.

5 I tried to be nice and offer half and the house. But since you had to be a raving bitch, I think I am ready to take half. And the research I have done, that s worth right around 8 million dollars. You can t do that! Oh yeah I can. And I also want your house in the Hampton's. Melissa looks scared. Yeah, I know about that one too. Lucky for you I am not going to be greedy. However, I am going to file for alimony. Melissa turns to Kathy. He can t do this! Kathy stands up. She is grinning. I m afraid he can. Do something! Mrs. Stuart, I m sorry, but at this time I am unable to represent you any longer. Good luck with your divorce. As she walks away she pats Gary on the back as we... FADE TO BLACK.
