1 YOGA RETREAT in SOUTH AFRICA: 3rd -9th of April 2016 Organized by Mimi Moya Pty Concept The purity of nature and animals in South-Africa creates the perfect framework for a unique Yoga-retreat. Mimi Moya and Viapura present a cocktail of yoga,meditation, relaxation, adventure, wildlife, nature...and especially the space and freedom to be yourself! The Mimi Moya Eco Reserve is a unique site of nature s beauty in the bush in South-Africa. Mimi Moya is part of the 6800 ha Mkunyane Reserve, a private reserve where we ll be spoilt during 6 days, surrounded by pure nature. Mimi Moya is the birth child of the Van Rooyen family to create a site in nature where people can come to relax in the bush. The Flemish Tania Draulans has settled in Mimi Moya for 9 years now and is married to Hansie Van Rooyen. Together with her family and the local population, she spoils us with the sense of peace in nature and exquisite fresh dishes straight from their farm. Accommodation We stay overnight in charming clay-built-cottages on the river shore, where giraffes, zebras, kudus and 30 other species are freely roaming around and some 300 species of indigenous birds waken us in the morning. All rooms are different, each with its own charm, but always furnished tastefully. On the menu we find traditional South-African meals and braai around the fire-place, prepared with ingredients from the Van Rooyen family farm or other nearby farmers; veganist and vegetarian options are provided on request. Each morning we start with a dynamic yoga session of one and a half hour, a

2 moment of warming up for the coming day full of impressions and adventure. And every day ends with a yoga yin session and meditation under a bright starry sky a moment to overlook, simply to let be, to give a place, and to integrate everything we met, felt and thought that day. During the day, you are free to enjoy in peace the Mimi Moya Reserve or to explore the bush more actively: walking, swimming in the river, mountain-biking or simply enjoy. Every day one optional activity is included to give you the opportunity to get to know the local population and/or local fauna and flora. Activities offered by Mimi Moya Game Drive in search of the wild species/game drive We go with a 4x4 jeep in search of giraffes, zebras, ostrich, wildebees, eland, kudus and 40 other wild species in a Game Walk and a Game drive in the reserve. In Mimi Moya there are no Big 5, so we can freely walk around. Visit to a local Zulu village with a football-match We are invited to the local Zulu population living nearby the Mimi Moya reserve. A traditional welcome introduces us in Zulu culture and gives us the opportunity to know better the local children in a real football-match, quite African! Visit to the local school and the umthunzi Wolwazi Creactive Centre We accompany the Mimi Moya children to school. A visit to this local Zulu-school

3 shows us how talented this cultural group is; Zulus are real artists. The traditional Zulu-dance and songs helps us to get the rhythm and the feeling of the Zulu culture and learns us the first words in this specific click language. But also in various types of expressive arts Zulu people are unique; children learn us how to realize wonders with little more than nothing We join the schoolchildren for lunch. Child-yoga with the local Zulu children We will do a class of child-yoga with the local zulu children. Ellen Van Renterghem, the yoga teacher on site will conduct the class and invites everyone (young and old) to participate. During a class of child-yoga, children get in touch with themselves in a playfull way. Yoga-positions are alternated with darwings, singing, massage, sound and play... The natural and spontaneous flexibility, involvement, joyfullness and peacefullness of children are developped and strengthened in a playfullway.a unique chance to feel child-like again! Visit to the Family Van Rooyen on Pypklipberg Farm We visit the family Van Rooyen s farm, where we are spoiled with a real African carrot-cake and a cup of rooibos-tea. While getting to know the family, in no time we pick up our first words of Afrikaans. Those who like can give a hand on the farm, as there is always enough on hands with horses, cows, sheep, goats, chickens, donkeys... or with some vegetables or fruit being grown there. At the same time it is also an ideal moment to get to know more about the rich history of South-Africa. Night safari A walk in the dark learns us which species and insects get active during the night. After supper we make a walk in the surroundings with our torch and hiking shoes.

4 Horse-riding The family Van Rooyen grows traditional African farm-horses. These horses have a gentle character and are ideal horses to ride for both young and old. Experienced horsemen can get a guided half-day or day ride. You will find more info on Mimi Moya on their website General Yoga Info The yoga retreat is spread over 7 days, 6 nights.we start the retreat with min.8, max. 12 participants.you will be invited to a total of 12 yoga sessions. These classes will be given by Ellen Van Renterghem, a certified yoga teacher. This means 6 morning sessions and 6 evening sessions of one and a half hour each. Morning sessions will be mainly dynamic, i.e. vinyasa yoga with a variation of exercises of Tibetan yoga, kundalini yoga, hatha yoga, tao,. The evening sessions will be rather meditative and on slow rythme, i.e. yin yoga and meditation. Experience in yoga is not a must. However you do need an open mind and a heart boasting with love and respect. Please contact us and your doctor in case of doubt about yoga exercise for you. 6 Temperature and weather: April means last summer-weeks in South Africa. Temperature ranges from 20 to 35 C daytime. At night temperatures may drop to 12 degrees, but it might stay warm as well. Raining mostly means a heavy shower with thunderstorm or a cloudy day with drizzle, and 2 successive days with rain are exceptional.
