6 Presentation Connections Presentation are used to create decentralized motion control solutions in ery compact units. They consist of a motor and control electronics. They are controlled ia a communication us, a pulse/direction (P/D) interface or an I/O interface (for the Motion sequence operating mode). Control electronics Motor Lexium drie incorporating control electronics, motor and connectors are used as decentralized dries in machine uilding. When comined with a Schneider Electric Lexium Controller or a PLC, they can e used to create complex control system architectures simply and at minimum cost. Ready-to-use function locks are aailale for programming moements with Schneider Electric or third-party motion controllers. Maximum compactness The motor and control electronics form a compact unit. This decentralized unit does not require any space in the enclosure for the control electronics, thus reducing the size of the machine. Simple to install and commission Integration of the motor and the control electronics reduces the installation costs and simplifi es incorporation of electromagnetic compatiility. In addition, Lexium CT PC software proides rapid commissioning. Optimum flexiility to adapt to your application The integrated dries can e equipped with an AC synchronous sero motor, a DC rushless motor or a stepper motor, thus proiding numerous possiilities for use in a wide ariety of applications. Depending on the technology used, they can thus meet requirements for dynamic performance, fl exiility or precision in motion control applications. Material handling application Open communication with control system architectures Depending on the model, incorporate as standard the main communication protocols used in industry for increased performance of your applications: CANopen, PROFIBUS DP, DeiceNet, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, Ethernet POWERLINK and Modus TCP communication uses and networks RS 485 serial link Integrated dries with stepper motor are also aailale with a pulse/direction (P/D) interface or an I/O interface for the motion sequence. This open communication concept enales integration in numerous control system architectures. Integrated safety The integrated Safe Torque Off (Power Remoal) safety function enales a category 0 or 1 stop to e performed in accordance with standard IEC/EN without external power protection deices. The integrated drie does not hae to e switched off, which reduces the system costs and the restart times. The drie complies with the requirements of the following standards: IEC/EN SIL2, ISO performance leel d (PL d) and IEC/EN (STO). 7 Presentation (continued) Lexium CT commissioning software Presentation (continued) The commissioning time for is consideraly reduced using the Lexium CT (Lexium Commissioning Tool) PC software. It is used for commissioning, parameter setting, simulation and diagnostics. Functions Lexium CT PC software includes the following functions: Entry and display of parameters Archiing and duplication of parameters Display of status information Positioning of the motor ia the PC Initiation of homing moements Access to all documented parameters Fault diagnostics Controller optimization (for ILA integrated drie) Required configuration Lexium CT software runs on a PC with the Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista operating systems. 8 Presentation ILp 1 for CANopen, PROFIBUS DP, RS 485 Presentation Lexium ILp 1 integrated dries comprise a motor, control electronics and a communication interface for: CANopen DS01 machine us (IL p 1F) PROFIBUS DP V0 fi eldus (IL p 1B) RS 485 serial link (IL p 1R) The communication us interface is used for setting parameters and controlling the integrated dries, as well as for commissioning using Lexium CT software. ILA1 with AC synchronous sero motor Lexium IL p 1 integrated dries also hae an RS 485 serial link interface and an interface for four 24 V signals, which can e confi gured as either inputs or outputs to suit application requirements. They also include the Safe Torque Off (Power Remoal) safety function as standard, which preents unintended motor operation. The control section comprises control electronics and a power stage which share a common power supply. Lexium IL p 1 integrated dries can operate on a 24 V to 6 V c supply. Three motor technologies are offered to coer a wide range of applications. Adaptaility assured y three motor technologies The Lexium IL p 1 integrated drie range offers three motor technologies to meet the requirements for dynamic performance, fl exiility or precision in a wide ariety of applications: ILA1: the integrated drie for dynamic processes The ILA1 integrated drie is equipped with an AC synchronous sero motor. This motor features high dynamic performance, as it can e temporarily oosted when accelerating. ILE1 with rushless sero motor Application example: ottling Bottles are transported on a coneyor up to the fi lling point, where their presence is detected y a sensor. The Lexium ILA1 drie actiates a pump to start fi lling the ottle then ensures accurate fi lling and instant stop to aoid oerfl owing y means of its closed loop function. ILE1: the integrated drie for automatic format adjustment The ILE1 integrated drie is equipped with a DC rushless motor. This motor has a high automatic holding torque, which makes the use of a holding rake unnecessary in the majority of applications. The control electronics incorporated in the ILE1 drie proide asolute encoder functionality. ILS1 with stepper motor Application example: ground-mounted solar power plants The latest solar power plants are equipped with iaxial tracking systems (azimuth/ zenith). Each axis is controlled y two Lexium ILE1 integrated dries. The Lexium ILE1 drie was chosen for its high holding torque and ecause it totally eliminates the need for electrical cainets. ILS1: the integrated drie for short range positioning With its -phase stepper motor, the ILS1 integrated drie offers high torque alues at low rotation speeds. In rotation speed mode, it has excellent staility characteristics and also enales high resolution positioning tasks. Commissioning an ILS1 integrated drie with stepper motor is simple as it does not require any confi guration of the control loop. Application example: laelling machine The Lexium ILS integrated drie's high torque is used to control the unrolling speed of the lael roll. 6

9 Presentation (continued) ILp 1 for CANopen, PROFIBUS DP, RS 485 Interfaces Communication us interface Depending on the model, the following communication uses can e connected: CANopen machine us (protocol DS01) PROFIBUS DP V0 fi eldus (data format according to Profi drie V2.0 PPO type 2) RS 485 serial link The communication us interface is used for setting parameters and controlling the integrated drie. It is also used as an option for connecting the terminal when commissioning the integrated drie using Lexium CT PC software (see page 5). A suitale communication us conerter is then required, for example CAN/USB, PROFIBUS DP/USB or RS 485/USB. RS 485 serial link interface The Lexium ILp 1 integrated drie is commissioned y default ia the RS 485 serial link interface. This interface also accesses the drie's integrated control/monitoring function. This function can also e accessed ia the Lexium CT PC software. The communication us and RS 485 serial link can e connected simultaneously. Interface for 24 V signals Four 24 V signals are aailale, confi gurale as inputs or outputs. They can also e used for predefi ned functions such as limit switches or reference sensors. They can e used y the master controller. The 24 V power for the outputs is proided internally ia the integrated drie's power supply. Interface for integrated Safe Torque Off function The Safe Torque Off (Power Remoal) safety function enales a category 0 or 1 stop to e performed in accordance with IEC/EN and/or preents unintended motor operation in accordance with IEC/EN leel SIL2, ISO performance leel d (PL d) and IEC/EN (STO). No additional power protection is necessary. The Lexium IL p 1 integrated drie can remain powered up, which reduces system costs and the restart time. The Safe Torque Off function is actiated ia two redundant 24 V input signals (actie in OFF state). 10 Presentation (continued) ILp 1 for CANopen, PROFIBUS DP, RS 485 Connection Two types of connector are aailale depending on the types of machine to e equipped. They are used to connect the communication uses, the RS 485 serial link, the interfaces for 24 V signals and the Safe Torque Off function, as well as the power supply. Printed circuit oard connectors Printed circuit oard connectors are preferaly used for wiring standard machines with cale harnesses. Integrated drie with printed circuit oard connectors The Lexium IL p 1 integrated drie is connected y means of two cale entry plates, to e ordered separately (see accessories page 6). Industrial connectors Integrated dries with industrial connectors are preferaly used for special machines and small series production machines. The communication uses and the power supply are connected y means of the industrial connectors located on the top of the drie. The RS 485 serial link, the 24 V signals and the Safe Torque Off function are connected ia two plates fi tted with industrial connectors, to e ordered separately (see accessories pages 6 and 8). Integrated drie with industrial connectors Compliance with international standards and certifications The offer has een deeloped in accordance with strict international standards and recommendations for ariale speed electrical power drie products, in particular IEC/EN (immunity to disturance related to high frequency signals connected y cales and transmitted) and IEC/EN (iration resistance). Compliance with electromagnetic compatiility requirements has een incorporated in the design of the Lexium integrated drie range. The entire range conforms to international standard IEC/EN :2001, enironment 2. carry the e marking in accordance with the European machinery directie (98/7/EEC) and the European EMC directie (2004/108/EEC). The entire range is certifi ed (United States and Canada). It is also TÜV certifi ed in accordance with safety standards for medical deices and equipment. 12 Description ILp 1 for CANopen, PROFIBUS DP, RS 485 ILA1 with AC synchronous sero motor 1 2 Description ILA1 integrated dries consist of control electronics with an interface for CANopen DS01, PROFIBUS DP or RS 485 communication us and an AC synchronous sero motor. They can e equipped with a single turn or multiturn encoder as required. For ILA1 integrated dries equipped with a single turn encoder, an integrated holding rake is also aailale as an option. Application example: manufacture of CDs/DVDs From the pressing of the CD or DVD right through to the end of its manufacture, the process is totally automated using Lexium ILA2 integrated dries, which increase productiity and reduce the production area y approximately 10%. ILE2: the integrated drie for automatic format adjustment The ILE2 integrated drie is equipped with a DC rushless motor. This motor has a high automatic holding torque. This makes the use of a holding rake unnecessary in the majority of applications. The control electronics incorporated in the ILE2 drie proide asolute encoder functionality. ILS2 with stepper motor Application example: manufacture of solar cells Electrical circuits are printed using a silkscreen process. Lexium ILE2 integrated dries are used for coneying. Dynamic performance is signifi cantly improed and the wiring time is reduced. Other integrated dries, such as Lexium ILS2, are also used for precise positioning, or Lexium ILA2 for the printing process. ILS2: the integrated drie for short range positioning With its -phase stepper motor, the ILS2 integrated drie offers high torque alues at low rotation speeds. It is mainly used in rotation speed mode with excellent staility characteristics and also for high resolution positioning. The commissioning of ILS2 dries with stepper motor is simple as it does not require any confi guration of the control loop. Application example: wood processing In applications using multi-lade circular saws, the planks are measured using lasers. They are positioned using linear axes equipped with a Lexium ILS2 integrated drie. Because of the harsh enironmental conditions, the control cainets are located some distance from the machinery. This concept of decentralization consideraly reduces the wiring. 16

Interface for integrated Safe Torque Off function The Safe Torque Off (Power Remoal) safety function enales a category 0 or 1 stop to e performed in accordance with standard IEC/EN and/or preents unintended motor operation in accordance with standard IEC/EN leel SIL2, ISO performance leel d (PL d) and IEC/EN (STO). No additional power protection option is necessary. The Lexium IL p 1 integrated drie can remain powered up, which reduces system costs and the restart time. ILS1 integrated dries with -phase stepper motor proide high torques at low speeds of rotation. They are mainly used in rotation speed mode with excellent staility characteristics and also for high resolution positioning. The control section consists of control electronics and a power stage. These hae a common power supply and are thermally isolated from the motor. They are not electrically isolated. The integrated dries can operate on a 24 V to 6 V c supply. 42 Presentation Option: GBp planetary gearoxes 1 PF08096 Presentation In many cases, motion control requires the use of a planetary gearox to adapt speeds of rotation and torques, while proiding the precision demanded y the application. 2 GBX planetary gearox To meet these requirements, Schneider Electric has chosen to use Neugart GBX planetary gearoxes and GBY angular planetary gearoxes which are ideal for integrated dries. These gearoxes are luricated for life and are easy to install and operate. Comining integrated dries with the most appropriate planetary gearoxes makes them ery easy to mount and ensures simple, risk-free operation. PF08097 The gearoxes are designed for applications which are not susceptile to mechanical acklash. They hae a keyed shaft, are luricated for life and conform to IP 54 degree of protection.
