3 INSTALLATION 1. On all models twist the directors until the plastic brackets snap into place as shown. 2. On 44- and 52-Element models connect the two halves of the boom together using the two brackets, screw and wingnut, as shown above. 3. On all models attach the dipole using a wingnut. Page 3

4 4. On 44- and 52-Element models attach the cradle. 5. On all models attach the reflectors using the plastic bracket (supplied in two parts), a screw and a wingnut. Page 4

5 5. On 44- and 52-Element models attach the cradle to the top of the mast. (The mast must not extend above the cradle) On 32-element models attach the aerial to the mast as shown below: If the transmitter is horizontally polarised (most main transmitters are horizontally polarised) mount as shown in the left picture. If the transmitter is vertically polarised (most local repeaters are vertically polarised) mount as shown in the right picture. If in doubt, observe other aerials installed in the neighbourhood. 6 6. On all models connect the coaxial cable as shown using 75W low-loss coaxial cable. Never use 50Ω coax, or any other type of screened cable, as this will result in a loss of signal. 7. Enhanced waterproofing can be achieved by putting a small amount of silicone or petroleum jelly around the lid of the connection box before assembling. OPERATION These aerials are intended for use with analogue and digital television receivers in Band IV and Band V (470MHz to 860MHz). They are wideband aerials, so can be used whenever Group A, Group B, Group CD, or Group W aerials are specified. Page 6

7 32-Element aerials can be used in strong signal areas. 44-Element aerials can be used in medium or strong signal areas. 52-Element aerials can be used in weak, medium or strong signal areas. These aerials are not suitable for use with FM radio (Band II, 87.MHz to 108MHz) or DAB radio (Band III, 174MHz to 230MHz). Orient the aerial so that it points to the nearest transmitter. You can find the location of your nearest transmitter at If there is an obstruction in the direction of the transmitter, then pointing the aerial slightly to one side of the obstruction may result in improved reception. If in doubt, observe other aerials installed in the neighbourhood, and orient the aerial in the same direction.
