These transformers provide a low cost, high quality solution to simplify the implementation of HomePlug products. 3 TYPICAL APPLICATIONS. The first transient protection stage limits large voltage spikes. For 5V networks a 20V MOV can be used. For 20VAC networks at least a 75V MOV should be used. 2. High frequency isolation may be needed for switching power supplies with a capacitor across the line input. Most linear power supplies do not require additional isolation. The typical value of each of these inductors should be greater than 25uH. The inductors should provide good high frequency performance in the PowerPacket band (-2Mhz).
