3 Joint Base Andrews Degree Center Classroom Locations Currently Prince George s Community College is using: Bldg 1413 on Arkansas Rd. Classroom locations are posted at the beginning of the semester outside the P.G.C.C. office in building Call or for further information. Directions to P.G.C.C. on AAFB From I-95 S (beltway) take exit 9, which is marked Rt. 337, Andrews AFB, Allentown Rd, Morningside. Turn right onto Forestville Road. Make the next right onto Allentown Road. At the next light make a left at the Visitor s Entrance Gate. Follow the driveway to the security checkpoint, where you will show your Long Term Badge for base access. Proceed to the traffic light at North Perimeter road. To Bldg Turn RIGHT at the light onto W. Perimeter road. Proceed about 1/4 mile and make the first LEFT after the headquarters building onto Arkansas road. Stay on Arkansas road and cross California Ave. Shortly you will see a baseball field on the right and a 3 story brick building next to the ball field. This is building Proceed past the building to the parking lot on the right. Classrooms and the college office are on the 1 st and 2 nd floor of There are two parking lots, one in front of the building and one around the block in the rear of the building. Park in either lot. Do not use the dormitory parking lot across the street. To Exit the Base from Bldg Take Arkansas road back the way you came. When Arkansas road ends at W. Perimeter turn RIGHT and proceed to the traffic light. Turn LEFT at the light to exit the base.. Turn left at the traffic light to exit the base. 4 Access to Joint Base Andrews: Procedures for Civilians Summer 2018 Request for a Long Term Badge form must be obtained in-person. Present your documentation at the location and on the days and hours listed below to get your form. Civilian students, faculty or staff without military affiliation accessing Joint Base Andrews must follow base security clearance procedures in order to obtain a Long Term Badge. Badges are issued at the Base Visitor Center by Security Personnel. Non-drivers are discouraged since classrooms are about 1.25 miles from the main gate and nondrivers will have to walk from the gate. There is no longer bus service on base. Long Term Badges will be issued only to faculty/staff/registered students; badges will not be issued to non-students for any reason. This means chauffeurs if you are a non-driver. No one will be allowed on base who has not first obtained a Long Term Badge. Procedures to access to Joint Base Andrews for Summer 2018 Summer 2018 students: Get your Request for a Long Term badge form from an JBA representative who will be stationed in Largo Student Center 1st floor outside the bookstore on the main campus in Largo during the following days/times: 6 :00 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 29 1:00 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 30 6:00 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 31 1:00 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 01 Bring the following required documents with you to receive your Request for a Long Term Badge form Driver s License or state issued ID Vehicle Registration Card for the car you will be driving on base, including license plate number. Proof of current car insurance If a student, a Registration Statement showing your class at Andrews. If a non-citizen, your Permanent Resident Card and Social Security Card. If you need access for Summer II classes beginning week of Monday, July 12 You will obtain your Request for a Long Term College Badge form from a PGCC representative who will be at the Base Visitor Center at the main gate of the Air Force base ( ) from 4:30-5:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday, July and Monday July 18 or you may come to campus May 31 June 03 as stated above. Bring with you all required documents as mentioned above. NOTE: PGCC representatives will be at the Main Campus and Visitor Center ONLY on the dates and times stated above. If you do not meet with the Andrews PGCC representative on the specified dates, call the Andrews Office at or hours BEFORE your class starting date. We will help you receive your Long Term Badge Request Form through an alternative procedure. Do not assume you will be able to access the base without the Long Term Badge. Andrews Visitor Center is located at 1832 Robert M Bond Dr. Andrews Air Force Base, just inside the Main Gate off Allentown Road. Please call the Visitor Center at for base photo ID processing hours. View placement test scores 8. View your unofficial transcript 9. View your grades online To use Owl Link, you must Be a current student and have a current valid account on file with the college. Students will receive a user ID and temporary password via . Owl Mail Prince George s Community College provides student accounts to all currently registered credit students. If you have not used it you must activate it. Your professors and other college staff will use ON- LY your Owl Mail account to send official information to you electronically. To activate your Owl Mail account you must Have an Owl Link account, Have registered for credit classes Know your Owl Link User ID Know your 7-digit student number (You can find it on your Registration Statement, in Owl Link under Personal Academic Profile, and at the Information Center located in Bladen Hall, Room 125) or at the Andrews Center office. For more information call INT Introduction to Information Technology. 3 credits. (CS) Prerequisite: Reading proficiency level. XW LEC Friday 6:00-10:30 p.m. MAT College Algebra. 3 Credits (MA) Algebraic operations, functions, graphing, theory of equations, exponential and trigonometric functions, and applications. Prerequisite: Mathematic proficiency level or MAT Student must have graphing calculator. XE LEC M/W 6:15-9:00 p.m. Note: meets 10 weeks June 4-Aug. 8. AND LEC Saturday 8:15 a.m. 5:30 p.m Note: is a weekend class. It has an online portion which runs from 6/8/2018 through 6/21/2018 and then the face-to-face weekend meetings begin. The face-to-face meetings occur on 3 weekends (6/22-23, 7/6-7, and 7/21-22) then the course is completed. Nutrition (NTR) Unless otherwise indicated, NTR courses meet for 3 class hours per week, or equivalent. For more information, call NTR is not being offered at JBA for summer 2018 Mathematics (MAT) Unless otherwise indicated, MAT courses meet for 3 class hours per week, or equivalent. A grade of C or higher is required for any course used to satisfy a prerequisite for any other course. All mathematics courses require the use of the computer and/or a graphing calculator. For more information, call MAT Intermediate Algebra. 4 Credits (MA) Continuing development and applications of algebraic, graphing calculator and problem-solving skills, with emphasis on linear and non-linear expressions, functions, equations and inequalities. Other topics include real and complex numbers, exponents, and radicals. Prerequisites: Math placement score, DVM 0071 completed, or equivalent and reading placement score, DVR 0061 completed or equivalent or concurrent. Student must have graphing calculator. Study of behavior, cognitive processes; concepts of memory, perception, consciousness, personality, and social behavior. Prerequisite: Reading proficiency level. Prerequisite: Reading proficiency level.
