1 Student Attainment of General Education and Program Learning Outcomes Learning Outcomes Summary Report: Academic Year Written Communication Students will demonstrate adequate writing skills by developing ideas and organizing content effectively. The assessment of student proficiency in written communication will be evaluated by an impromptu essay on the ENG 101 final exam. The essay will be scored by rubric. 2 Mathematical Computation Students will compute basic mathematical operations accurately, comprehend mathematical information, and utilize analytical thinking skills to solve problems. The assessment of student proficiency in basic mathematical computations and operations, comprehension of mathematical information, and utilization of analytical thinking skills to solve problems will be conducted through a common exam in MTH 100 containing the following topics: graphs and applications of linear equations, intercepts, slope and applications, equations of lines, and systems of equations in two variables. Students achieving the outcome will score a minimum of 75% on the exam. The assessment of student proficiency in computer literacy will be conducted through the Microsoft Office Suite Certification Exam in CIS 146. (CRJ 280) In CRJ 280, the student will be evaluated on his/her ability to function as a competent entry-level worker in a law enforcement experience setting by scoring at least 80% on a comprehensive work experience evaluation completed by the student s supervisor. (EMS 254) The student will be evaluated with a comprehensive terminal cognitive examination (minimum score of 75%) and demonstration of satisfactory psychomotor entry level paramedic competency (80% with no critical criteria) utilizing patient care scenarios confirmed by EMS Faculty and EMS Medical Director. (ENT 242) The student, functioning as part of a team, will design and implement a capstone project that will demonstrate his/her ability to function as a competent entry-level engineering technician by achieving a minimum overall score of competence on a comprehensive evaluation. NOTE: OAD 130 did not have enough students registered in AY to maintain the course. PLO 2: Transcribe documents from dictated recordings. (OAD 200) In OAD 200, the student will accurately transcribe documents from dictated recording on an exam with at least 80% proficiency. A.A.S. (OAD 130) The student will demonstrate an acceptable rate of speed and accuracy with at least 80% accuracy on an exam in which the student must solve mathematical problems with the ten-key numeric touch method. NOTE: OAD 130 did not have enough students registered in AY to maintain the course. PLO 3: Transcribe a dictated letter or report without errors in mail-ready document using a computer. (OAD 212) The student will accurately transcribe medical documents from dictated recording with at least 80% accuracy on a class assignment. A.A.S.
