6 Changes in the standard IEC Voltage Variations: New Voltage profile Old standard fall and rise time are 2s This mean that the motor variac perform the voltage changes New test standard IEC Ed.2 Switch from the nominal 100% voltage to the reduced presetted variac voltage with the fast internal switch ( 1-5us). Variac output at 70% After 20 ms, a slow voltage increase during 500ms back to the nominal voltage with the motorvariac. 6 6

11 Test procedure as per IEC Each setting with 3 Events with intervals of 10s minimum between each test event. For voltage dips, changes in supply voltage shall occur at zero crossings ( 0 and 180 ) of the voltage. Additional angles considered critical by product committees or individual product specifications preferably selected from on each phase. 45, 90, 135, 180, 225, 270 and 315 For the short interruption test of three-phase systems, all the three phases shall be simultaneously tested. Every representative operating mode must be tested. Interruptions and dips occurs in the phases and not in the neutral line

15 Votage interruption as per IEC EUT change with different connection power fail simulator connection. Interruption high impedance: The EUT supply Ut is interrupted during the programmed time. The simulator interrupt the power supply line. 0 V Interruption low impedance: The EUT supply Ut is interrupted and switched to 0V. The EUT is shorted and internal buffer capacitors are discharged. The simulator switches the supply to 0V and makes a short circuit at the EUT input

18 Dips in 3-phase system IEC General The EUT shall be tested for each selected combination of test level and duration with a sequence of three dips / interruptions with intervals of 10s minimum ( between each test event ). Each representative mode of operation shall be tested. For voltage dips, changes in supply voltage shall occur at zero crossings of the voltage, and at additional angles considered critical by product committees or individual product specifications preferably selected from 45, 90, 135, 180, 225, 270 and 315 on each phase

19 Dips in 3-phase system IEC Test procedure : Exception : Each phase alone one by one All 3 phases simultaneously for short interruptions. 3 phase system with neutral each individual voltage (phase-to neutral and phase-to-phase) shall be tested. One at a time. This implies six different series of tests
