3 3 Chapter 1 - Install and Wire the "254 2W" Module Insert the "254 2W" module to one of the IRRInet ACE module slots. Connect the communicationn cable (cable plug is shown in figure 1-1). 4 4 Connect the 12VDC power cable from the IRRInet ACE power supply (aux 1A or 1B) to the "DC IN" terminal as shown in figure 1-2. DC IN Terminal (Figure 1-2) Connect the AC transformer #1 to AC1 terminals on the module as shown in figure 1-3 (please note! do not connect the transformer to the 220\ 110 main power). (Figure1-3)

5 5 Connect the AC transformer #2 to AC2 terminals on the module as shown in figure 1-4 (Note! Do not connect the transformer to the 220\110 main power). (Figure 1-4) Connect the GND terminals of LINE 1 and LINE 2 to the grounding rod (Note! You should install a separated grounding rod 2W" module). for the "254

6 6 Connect the 1 st decoder's line (LINE 1) to the FL and FN terminals of the module as shown in figure 1-5. (Figure 1-5) Connect the 2 nd decoder's line (LINE 2) to the FL and FN terminals of the module as shown in figure 1-6. (Figure 1-6) Connect the AC transformer #1 and AC transformer #2 to the main power source (230VAC/ 115VAC).

7 7 Chapter 2 - STS Setup Create a new project or use an existing project. Create a new IRRInet ACE unit in the project. Open the port section and set port SI1 as shown in figure 2-1 and 2-2. (Figure 2-1) (Figure 2-2)

8 8 Click on "Add On Manager" button and select the file to add as shown in figure 2-3 Attach the file to the IRRInet ACE unit as shown in figure 2-3 (Figure 2-3) Open "Application Manager" as shown in figure 2-4 (Figure 2-4)

9 9 Browse and import the "Tonick application as shown in figure 2-5 Select "Tonick application and attach to the IRRInet ACE unit as shown in figure 2-5 and press OK (Figure 2-5) Click on the Application Programmer button Choose the I\O Link

13 13 Connecting: a. b. c. d. e. Connect the red wire of the decoder to the red terminal on the programmer on the 24VAC marking. Connect the black wire of the decoder to the black terminal on the programmer on the 24VAC marking. Connect the solenoid wires to the yellow terminals on the programmer on the SOLENOID marking (in case of multi outpu decoder connect the brown wire of the decoder to one of the yellow terminals and then connect the yellow wire to the other yellow terminal to set the 1 st solenoid address, then disconnect the yellow wire and connect the orange wire to set the 2 nd solenoid address. Set the correct address by pressing "RAISE" and "LOWER" buttons (the setup is shown on the screen on the left). Press "PROG." and wait until "PASS" is displayed on the screen. (Figure 3-1)

14 14 Chapter 4 ICC Setup Define a valve in the ICC software for each one of the decoders addresses (to operate ON and OFF). Define an input in the ICC software for each one of the decoders address (to get indications for the decoder status OK or FAIL). Set the physical connections of the inputs and outputs as shown in the tables below. 15 15 Appendix A - Specifications 1. Decoder Types and Specification TW/MOT-1, TW/MOT-2, TW/MOT-3, TW/MOT-4 Body Color: Power Consumption: Input Voltage Range: Solenoid Output: Max. Output: Temperature Range: Storage: Signaling System: White, red end caps, embossed. Typically 3mA at 26V RMS. 19V RMS to 32V RMS, 50 or 60Hz, Sinusoidal. Other frequencies not allowed. Full AC input voltage less 1V is continuously applied to the solenoid for the duration of the on-time. No DC or solenoid current reduction is used. 500mA RMS steady-statfor all outputs combined (TW/MOT-2/3/4). Operating: +5 C to +50 C at 500mA output. Max + 60 C per output (typically powers 2 solenoids). 1.2A max at 250mA output. -10 C to +70 C Modulation of AC waveform at AC zero crossing. Input Power Distortion: Decoder Addresss Range: Pure sine wave. Avoid any distortion of waveform slope or perturbations at the AC zero crossing point or within +/- ¼ cycle from that point (using a Mottech/2W programmer) Outputs in multiple decoders may be programmed to the same address, but will switch simultaneously. Outputs in multiple decoders may be programmed to unrelated addresses.

Attention must be given to the specifications of these solenoids. Line Signaling: For each of the two lines: Up to 127 Mottech decoders. 18 18 Connections IRRInet ACE with decoder module should be wired as follows for each line: AC1 terminals should be wired to the transformer supply. Please note the transformer for each line is supplied with the interface. FL1 is the Field Cable 1 Live terminal (referred to as the line ) FN1 is the Field Cable 1 Neutral terminal EST1 (Earth Stake Terminal) must be connected to the grounding rod (see above recommendations). EST1 and EST2 may be connected together to one grounding rod or plate AC2 terminals should be wired to the transformer supply. FL2 is the Field Cable 2 Live terminal (referred to as the line ) FN2 is the Field Cable 2 Neutral terminal EST2 (Earth Stake Terminal) must be connected to the grounding rod (see above recommendations). EST1 and EST2 may be connected together to one grounding rod or plate Modbus Terminals A (D0) and B (D1) are half duplex RS485 signals. B is +ve and A is ve during line idle conditions. COM is the ground of the RS485 circuitry and it must be connected to the RS485 0V of the ACE. The 0V of the interface s comms is within +/- 1.5V of the 0V of the Auxiliary Output 1B (connected through a diode bridge). 13.8VDC (ACE Supplied) Power Auxiliary Output 1B. This supplies the IRRInet ACE 2WIRE module and RS485 circuits. FL1, FN1, FL2, FN2 are optically isolated to 3KV from Auxiliary Output 1B Environmental Storage Operation General 0 to 70 C 0% to 90 % humidity (non -condensing) +3 to +50 C 20 to 80% humidity (non condensing)
