The proposed topoloy of Electronic Bllst is coposed of sinle-ended priry-inductnce converter, used s powerfctor (PF) correction ste, interted with resonnt hlf-bride inverter, used s lp-power control ste. To eliinte the hronic coponents enerted by the hih frequency switchin of the PF correction (PFC) ste, becuse otherwise, hih-frequency hronics cn decrese the syste PF nd cuse interference probles with other equipent. An interted converter tht incorportes both the PFC nd the PC stes is proposed. A ethod for chievin luinous flux control in this type of interted converters is lso investited. The power fctor chieved is.962 nd efficiency is 88.7% nd the totl hronic distortion in input current is 8.29%. Keywords-Power Fctor correction (PFC), EPIC, intertion technique, hih-frequency. I INTROUCTION 2 th century ws the tie of inventions nd societies dpttion to new enery, electricl power. evelopents in industry nd rowth of popultions rised the need for enery sources. However, world hs liited cpcity to reenerte the sources nd pollution ffects bdly the sustinbility of sources. Recently, wreness of the sustinbility probles of world, force the overnents nd coittees to develop wys to proote sustinbility. In these wys; ey point is enery svin [1]. Enery svin cn be succeeded by usin electricl power efficiently nd properly. In this nner, ny technoloies re developin in order reduce the consuption. One wy to reduce the use of electricl enery consuption is the use of hihfrequency electronic bllsts feedin dischre lps. The trditionl FLs hve low lifetie of 1 h wheres, in electrodeless FLs 1 h [2].

The bsence of electrodes is in dvnte of EFLs which es possible for lon lifetie [3]. The EFL contins the followin stes s shown in Fi 2. Fi 2: EFL opertin stes The Electronetic Interference (EMI) filter is desined to eliinte the hronic coponents enerted by the hih-switchin frequency of Power Fctor Correction (PFC) ste, becuse hih-frequency hronics cn decrese the syste Power Fctor (PF). In this pper the PFC ste i.e, EPIC converter nd PC ste i.e, Hlf-Bride Inverter stes re interted to cooperte with low cost use of coponents. The switches re operted with hih-switchin frequency of 25KHz [4]. This pper is ornized s follows. In section II Electronic Bllst construction. ection III dels with the opertion of EFLs. ection IV dels with diin ethodoloy in EFLs. ection V shows the results obtined, VI dels with the pplictions of EFLs nd the section VII describes the conclusion of this pper. II ELECTRONIC BALLAT CONTRUCTION The Electronic Bllst is cobintion of rectifier, C-C converter (EPIC) used s PFC, C-AC Inverter (Hlf-Bride inverter) s PC, resonnt filter nd lp. The siulin MATLAB dir of proposed ethod is presented in fi 3 nd the interted odel is shown in fi 4.

EPIC s PFC ste The EPIC is used s PFC ste for EFLs. The EPIC is used effectively s step-up or step-down nd it wors se s Buc-Boost converter nd hs n dvnte of non-invertin output. As this converter is eployed with n input inductor, the eliintion of EMI filter is possible. Hence this reduces nuber of stes nd es circuit siple. VT L1 = (1) ΔIL 1 V (1 ) T L2 = (2) ΔI L2 B. Hlf-Bride Resonnt Inverter s PC ste The hlf-bride inverter is followed by resonnt filter, to perfor lp strtin nd stbiliztion [5]. The resonnt filter LCC, opertes ner the filter resonnt frequency durin strtin process. The resonnt filter dpt the squre wvefor supplied by the inverter nd ttenutin the hiher order hronics nd supplyin lp with sinusoidl wvefors.

The switches 1 nd 3 re interted in order to hve siple circuitry. This type of intertion is nown s T-type [6]. The shred switch ust hndle the currents both the su of both stes. The diodes PFC nd HB re used to prevent circultin currents fro one ste to the other i.e, PFC nd PC. The diode 2 is used s intrinsic diode of switch 3. The volte nd current over this diode is se s before nd fter intertion technique.. Electricl Model of EFL The EFL under study stte presents two externl coils (Lcore) connected in prllel [7] [8]. These coils ct s priry windin of trnsforer nd lod of secondry windin is pls inside the dischre lp. In this wy the enery is trnsfered fro priry to secondry by producin luinous rdition. The equivlent electricl odel of Lp is shown in Fi 5. Fi 5 : Electricl Model of EFL In the bove fiure the Lp odel is iven s by equivlent resistnce nd equivlent inductnce. Here the currents in the inductors re il1=-il2 nd the resonnt current if flows throuh diode 2. te 2: In this ste, switch 1, 3 is turned on nd switch 2 will be still off. Here, the switch 1, 3 is considered only for the EPIC current. The resonnt current circultes throuh diode 2. When the diode 2 current reches Zero (i2=) this ste ends, due to inversion of the resonnt current. te 3: The diode 2 is off nd till 1, 3 is conductin nd the resonnt current flows throuh HB nd witch 1, 3. Here still the inductors L1 nd L2 re enerizin. te 4: 1, 3 is turned off nd in hlf bride inverter the resonnt current circultes throuh the body diode of switch 2. Here the inductors L1 nd L2 re de-enerized by the cpcitor Cbus. Both the inductnces nd resonnt circuit supply current to cpcitor Cbus. Now, 2 is turned on, with the zero volte, hence chievin zero volte switchin (ZV). te 5: witch 2 is still conductin nd resonnt current reverses nd circultes throuh switch 2. te 6: iode 1 current reches zero, chievin CM opertion. The resonnt current circultes throuh switch 2. Then the switch 2, is turned off t this ste nd repetin the process. IV IMMING METHOOLOGY The diin feture cn be chieved by usin vrious ethods: frequency odultion [1] [11], pulse width odultion [12], filter preters vrition [13] [14], controllin bus volte [15] [16]. In this pper, the vrition of the bus volte is ipleented to chieve diin of the fluorescent lp. The duty cycle of the interted switch 1.3 is vried in order to control the bus volte i.e, volte cross the diode 2 nd, then, the power delivered to the lp. The dvnte of this ethod is to obtin the PFC ste behvior, nerly liner chrcteristic between the bus volte nd lp power is chieved. The converter input power depends directly on the duty cycle pplied to the PFC ste. Hence, if reter duty cycle, the reter input power, nd, lso, the hiher lp power, the reter Vbus. The phse nle chne in resonnt lod is nother iin ethod. The lp luinous output is chned by vryin power of the lp. This lp-power vrition chnes the lp electricl preters tht, will chne the phse nle of the totl ipednce tht lods resonnt inverter. The nlysis of the phse nle of the resonnt lod results very iportnt in order to verify whether the switch 2 will be opertin under the Zero Volte witchin ode.

VII CONCLUION Hence the EPIC opertin in iscontinuous Conduction Mode nd Hlf-bride interted topoloy is used to feed n Electrodeless Fluorescent Lp with reduced coponent count.
