2 MX 512 Reverse Phase dimmer pack User's Manual - Page 1 GNRAL SCRIPTI The is a 4-channel MX-512 compatible RVRS PHAS also called TRAILING G, LV, lectronic low voltage dimmer pack. It contains two printed circuit boards, the load driver module (LM) and the INT04-MX-RP control module. The LM is equivalent to four solid-state relays (SSR's) assembled on a single circuit board. Power is fed to the from One 20 Amp. breaker. ach solid state relay is rated for a maximum output current of 4 amperes. The LM is mounted at the bottom of the 's enclosure which also serves as a heat sink. The relays are triggered by low-voltage signals generated by the INT04-MX module. These signals are optically-isolated by the LM circuitry from all line voltage elements. A step-down 10 VAC- transformer on the LM board supplies power to the INT04-MX-RP. MX-512 control information is received by the INT04-MX-RP over a twisted-pair cable. Several dimmer packs may be daisy-chained together using standard CAT5 cables ( Pair #4 is used only, Brown) with RJ45 male connectors. ach may be set to a unique address and will occupy the next four MX control channels beginning with the address selected at the front panel. When two or more units are set to the same address, their respective outputs work in unison, increasing the amount of load that can be controlled by a single MX channel. ach of the outputs may be independently configured not to dim. In such case, a MX input value greater than 3 ( 1% ) switches its respective output to 100%, else the output remains at 0%. igure 1 shows a functional block diagram of the. igure 2 shows dimmers in a typical installation. IMMING/SWITCHING - (See Page for more information) A may control a combination of dimmed and switched loads. ach one of the s outputs may be independently configured not to dim. This is achieved using a HARWAR lock to ensure circuits do not dim. All four outputs controlled by the INT04-MX-RP may be configured not to dim by the installation of a small jumper on the back of the INT04-MX-RP circuit board. This may be done at the factory or in the field. This jumper may be removed to allow the future dimming of those outputs. Please see Page for location of this jumper. Alternatively, the may be ordered as a SWITCH-LY unit, the -S. This unit has all the same features as the P402 except that there is no dimming, and there are no chokes installed inside the unit. 7 MX 512 Reverse Phase dimmer pack User's Manual - Page MX Address Setting Up to 12 dimmer packs may be installed per system and their MX input daisy-chained using standard MX-512 cables. ifferent addresses ranging from 1 to 509 may be selected for each dimmer, depending on which MX channel(s) will be used to control it. ach dimmer pack uses four consecutive MX bytes from the input stream beginning at the address selected using rotary selectors S1, S2 and address expansion jumper S3. (See igure 3 on page 2 for selectors location).
