2 General CSUv2 Overview Thompson Aerospace has been a supplier of aircraf servers for over 3 years for all types of aircraf. The CSUv2 is our next generaton server product, incorporatng our extensive experience of moving aircraf data between aircraf system and cloud based networks in service. The CSUv2 has the processing, memory and I/O capabilites to enable a single part number to support all types of aircraf. The CSUv2 has a pin programming feature to confgure itself for health monitoring, passenger connectvity or both. Thompson Aerospace Cloud services allows all the data collected by the server to be moved to the cloud based on a user set of business rules. The server has (2) QUAD Core processors each with 1,000 Gigabytes of storage to allow real tme processing and distributon of any ARINC, Discrete, or other type of data to be sent over an Iridium, wireless access point or LTE cellular network. The unit has (10) ARINC 429 Rx, (5) ARINC 429 Tx, (2) ARINC 485, (2) ARINC 717, ARINC 629, ARINC 825 plus an additonal (8) Keyline inputs and (4) Keyline outputs selectable as either 28V/Open or GND/Open. The unit includes an accelerometer, mult-mode GNSS, power monitor, temperature, real tme clock (RTC), and an internal 5 minute power hold up to allow contnued infight telemetry data during a complete aircraf power failure. The LTE cellular functon includes (2) radios that are programmed based on country setng to provide LTE services in North America or the rest of the world. The radios are able to auto select lower band width channels if LTE service is not available, such as GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSPA+. The unit has four Gigabit 802.1at Power over Ethernet (PoE) ports to allow for expansion through the usage of power devices such as Ethernet Switches, TLWUs, Camera, RFID, and Aircraf Network Adaptors, to allow an unlimited selecton of inputs/outputs to be processed by the servers. 3 Summary of Benefts Sofware Design The CSUv2 is parttoned into DO-254 Cat C frmware for all aircraf interfaces and DO-178 CAT E and/or CAT D for sofware functons. The processor runs a Debian based Linux operatng system. Aircraf Systems Security The CSUv2 security engines are designed to DO-326 Cat C or higher and adhere to FIPS security level 3. Based on the RTCA DO-326 standard, the CSUv2 may be able to be atached to CAT B busses due to our dual redundant security engines. The CSUv2 also contains a TPM which adheres to ISO/IEC :2009 and an ECC trusted module that uses ECDSA, according to FIPS Aircraf Systems Interfacing The CSUv2 is designed to be atached to any CAT C or lower aircraf data bus. ARINC Broadcast Data Output All aircraf data is accessible through the front 100 BaseTX connector by a simple laptop computer for aircraf maintenance trouble shootng. System Status and BITE An SMTP Manager is hosted in the P3 processor to provide complete Unit BITE Data. LEDs on the front of the unit provide LRU status. The CSUv2 is able to output fault state on any ARINC or Ethernet bus atached to the aircraf. CSUv2 Confguraton Control Pins Four (4) pin groups on the aircraf interface connector are utlized to confgure the CSUv2 for a specifc customer aircraf. Page 3

4 CSUv2 Optons Any standard Power Device can be connected to one of the PoE expansion ports on the CSUv2 to provide additonal functonality, such as Gatelink over n, AeroMax, Bluetooth, RFID, or any other type of connecton. Speeds of up to 400 Mbits/sec can be maintained by the system depending on the type of connecton provided by the wireless device. Thompson Aerospace ofers a high speed data Power Device Data loader with write speeds up to 400 Mb/s for aircraf loading of data. Page 4
