3 Results Airborne sound insulation measured in the laboratory, weighted sound reduction index according to EN ISO 7171:2013: R w (C; C tr) = 34 (2; 6) db Graph Sheet no. 1 shows the sound reduction index of every onethird octave band in the frequency range Hz together with the shifted reference curve corresponding to the measured weighted sound reduction index. The onethird octave band values are shown both in tabular form and graphically. Additionally, the octave band values are calculated from the onethird octave bands in the frequency range Hz and are shown in tabular form. 5 Annex A Description of the test specimen The following description is provided by the client: The window was made of wood profiles as a coupled sidehung (Koblet sidehængt vindue) construction with one rebate and one sealing, all opening outwards. Density of the wood was 480 kg/m 3. The outer frame dimensions were 1230 mm x 1480 mm. All outer sashes were fitted with a 6 mm single glass unit from Press Glass, fastened with 1component sealant. All inner sashes were fitted with a 3145 mm argon filled insulating glass unit also from Press, fastened with wooden glazing beads. The distance between single glass and double glazing was 26.5 mm. Drawings of bottom, side and top section are shown in Annex B1B3. Mounting in the laboratory The dimensions of the test opening were 1250 mm x 1500 mm as seen from the source room side and 1370 x 1560 mm as seen from the receiving room side. The window was mounted in the test opening with 2 screws in each vertical side of the frame. The joint between the frame and test opening was filled with mineral wool. From both sides a foam strip was fitted and the joint was sealed with silicone joint filler from both sides. The niche depth from the surface of the windows against the source room was approx. 45 mm. The reverberation time is measured in 20 microphone positions distributed on the microphone path. Wideband pink noise Filters: Onethird octave band filters with centre frequencies within the frequency range Hz The octave band values in Graph Sheet no. 1 are calculated from the onethird octave band values in accordance with EN ISO , clause 5.3. Flanking transmission The sound reduction indices in Graph Sheet no. 1 have been corrected for sound transmission around the test specimen (flanking transmission). The correction value must not exceed 1.3 db corresponding to a transmission ratio of 1:3. In Annex F the maximum obtainable sound reduction index, R max, that can be measured in the laboratory is listed together with the corrections which are included in the results in Graph Sheet no. 1. The calculated correction value was 0 db for every onethird octave band. Background noise The sound reduction indices in Graph Sheet no. 1 have been corrected for background noise. 11 Annex E Measurements in the low frequency range 5080 Hz Additional measurements in the frequency range 5080 Hz were carried out. The measurement uncertainty of these measurements is larger than in the normal frequency range for building acoustic measurements Hz. Generally, the measurements performed in the lowfrequency range follow the procedure given for frequencies above 100 Hz (see annex C). For measurements in the 63 Hz and the 80 Hz onethird octave bands, the test procedure is identical to the procedure used for frequencies above 100 Hz. Measurement in the 50 Hz onethird octave band is carried out using the reverse direction of measurement (source and receiving room interchanged). Two corner positions (opposite the test wall) of a dodecahedron loudspeaker are used. Investigations have shown that in DELTA s test rooms, this procedure leads to measured sound reduction indices at 50 Hz, which are in good agreement with expected values. Details of the test procedure are given below.
