2 2 INSTALLATION DIRECTIONS!!! STOP!!! NEVER INSTALL THIS ANTENNA NEAR OR ON POWER LINES. DO NOT USE POWER LINES TO SUPPORT THIS ANTENNA. USER OF THIS ANTENNA ASSUMES ALL RISKS. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE RULES COULD RESULT IN DEATH. Before installing, review the entire booklet to be come aware of the Do s and Don ts. The antenna is water resistant. And can be used indoors or outdoors. Four basic mounting positions for the CRAMER-1100 CB ANTENNA, Vertical, Horizontal, Sloper and Temporary. Please review the four basic mounting position diagrams on the following pages. #1. Stretch out the antenna. Choose which position you want per the diagrams and attach your rope. #2. Stretch out your coax. Push the coax connector onto the antenna connector first. Then rotate the body of your coax connector to make sure that the locking tabs are locked into place. Then screw the outside of the coax connector until it is snug. Then connect the other end of the coax to your CB radio.
3 3 INSTALLATION DIRECTIONS (cont.) #3. If you are worried about water getting into your coax connector, wrap some electrical tape around it. If you want the connection to really last, then apply a good amount of clear silicone sealant covering the entire connector, part of the plastic body where the internal connector is, and about 2 inches of your connecting coax. Cover area outlined in blue with silicone. (optional) Connecting coax (not supplied)
4 Antenna Wire 4 Rope INSTALLATION DIRECTIONS (cont.) #4. Your antenna is now ready to be hoisted up. Throw your rope over something like a tree branch, tie it off on you deck, out your window, off your tree stand, drop it down your plastic or vinyl downspout, and tie off the rope. #5. Dress the connecting coax over to your CB Radio and connect the coax to the CB Radio. You are done. Antenna Wire Rope Tie a rope,string,or twine to this part of the antenna to hang up the antenna on anything. Do not use wire, wire coat hangers, or anything metal. Connect your 50 Ohm coax to your CB radio here. Antenna Wire Antenna Wire Tie a rope, string, or twine to the plastic body as show. Use plastic tie wraps or electrical tape to hold antenna wire to the rope. Do not use wire, coat hangers, or anything metal. Tie Wraps or electrical tape. Use as many or as little as you want. 6 6 USING THE RIGHT ANGLE ADAPTOR This adaptor is a UHF right angle adaptor. When using this right angle adaptor you MUST seal the area outlined in blue with silicone sealant. Use this adaptor to hide your antenna and coax in a 4 inch fiberglass, vinyl, or plastic downspout. Here are some places to get these adaptors (cheapest)
